It was with mild surprise that Alexander received his new orders from Consul Gracchus; he was a member of the Junior Senate, true, but he spent minimal time involved with the Republic's internal politics, preferring to devote himself to the running of the Neo-Roman training facilities on the world of Graviter. The reason he was not blindsided by the request was that he could guess why he had been chosen; he was a neutral party, relatively speaking, on the issue of the Dratherians, having neither served in the war nor been involved in the ensuing reconstruction and cultural assimilation efforts after it ended. Alexander was the second man in the history of the Republic to speak to the Dratherian barbarians, after his then commanding officer, now Senator and Fleet Admiral Titus Lucianus; Lucianus had gone on to mastermind the Battle of Aquaria and ride the war's political momentum to the top, while Alexander had bided his time among his fellow legionaries.
And now the powers that be had seen fit to acknowledge his existence again; how good of them, he thought with a quick smirk. Nevertheless, it was a project he could get behind, one that would keep his mental blade honed keen like he wanted it. And being a duty-bound Neo-Roman, there was no way he would refuse.
Therefore, he prepared a message and sent it to the relevant parties in both Dratheria and the Federal Union:
The Republican Senate has been informed of the dispute between our ally the Federal Union and our client kingdom Dratheria concerning ownership of the Port Hedland system. We are also aware that Dratheria intends to retake the system by force. Since the Republic does not condone war between her ally and her vassal, and since the Federal Union has shown its willingness to negotiate peacefully, we request that delegates from both nations meet on Nova Roma under Republican arbitration to solve this issue without bloodshed. I, Alexander of Neo-Roma, will oversee these deliberations and speak for the Senate and People of the Republic. Avete atque valete.
OOC: Correct me if I got the name of the system wrong, but that's what TFU's post back in the war thread said, so yeah. I'll change it if it's different.

The reply to the attack wasn't quite so polite a fleet of over a thousand starships had assembled in the Dakota System a major hub of Warp activity. In fact the Imperium was lead now by forces the Republic had not encountered before for whatever reason however the Legio Custodes lead this force. Their starships reaching levels of technology not seen elsewhere in the galaxy. These were the true elite warriors of the Imperium. It is said that the Custodes are to the Emperor what the Space Marines are to the Primarchs. Captain-General Orion lead the forces alongside the Primarch Kailen. They stood as equals in the eyes of the Imperium for the Custodes answered to no one save the Immortal Emperor of mankind.
It was standing aboard the starship Hellfire that Kailen and Captain-General Orion prepared their battle operations. Their fleet's arrival had been obscured by the Saint Johnas who had managed to draw forth a mighty warp storm. Many could see that the Emperor had touched him by the Aquilla which burned in his eyes. How he had survived the attack none knew but he was a witness to the deceit, trickery, and brutality of their former allies in the United Terran Federation. His entire chapter of Arbites had been wiped out by the sneak attack. He spoke in a reverant tone, "Their forces were heavy at first but scouting reports from the local rebellion have indicated that their presence there has significantly dwindled. However they have a jump gate there which would allow them somewhat quick reinforcements. If we do a coordinated strike we may be able to cut this off before they get all their forces in." Orion spoke next, "I can have my First Company deploy in for a quick and deadly strike on their Garrison. While Lord Kailen makes a simultaneous strike for the Jump Gate here." He pointed to the hololithic display with his great Guardian Spear and gestured to the garrisoned ground forces. Kailen flexed his talons and spoke with a demonic voice, "My forces will easily overwhelm the enemy forces." He stretched his wings and gripped the katana hanging at his side.
It was moments later that the astropath choir began to sing. When the message was delivered Kailen gave it a sour look, "The Republicans wish for us to meet with the traitorous cowards for some peaceful end." The Captain-General was the next to speak, "Vandire's Oath! This is absurd! There will be no negotiating these cowards have attacked and illegally seized a system at the heart of our territory. We still deal with the repercussions of allowing the Chaos scum of Chronosia establish a beachhead in the Tyr system. It took us a century to cut off the access routes the Tyr system had. We cut it from our territory as if a cancer however we cannot allow Port Hedland to fall." The Saint stepped forward and said, "By the Emperor's Will we shall meet with them. Ready the Hellfire to decloak and make for Nova Roma."
A few days later the Hellfire broke through the Warp above Nova Roma. The mighty battle barge was a brilliant sight bearing the skulls of the thousands killed by the Hellblazers Legion. The skulls of the Alien, the Mutant, and the Heretic sat intermixed on the hull of their flagship. A golden Thunderhawk departed from the massive ship. Her contents bearing five Custodes Terminators, Kailen, the Saint, and Captain-General Orion. It was a Thunderhawk of the Custodes her mighty refined and articulated features allowing a look of majesty. Slowly but surely the gunship landed on the directed landing pad and lowered it's ramp.

A squadron of SA-40A’s flew towards the area were negotiations were taking place, escorting a cruiser, the fighters flew magnificently, a small hue of blue and white coming from their four engines, the cruiser ominously dwarfing them, its body looking almost like a demon of death, its hull dark and rough. The group of ships moved quickly, the fighters flanking the large cruiser on both sides, their forms glimmering in the light coming from the systems star.
The ships came to a stop; they floated there, the commander of the UTS Enterprise, hailed the facility.
“This is the UTS Enterprise carrying a diplomat of the United Terran Federation re questing beaming privileges”
Mr Bester kayborn, former secretary of state under president miller, was standing on the bridge as this request was made, his suit was crisp, and well maintained, his hair black and short, his eyes deep brown, his skin was pale, he wore gloves, he had two insignia on his collar, signifying he was a diplomat , he always wanted this assignment to broker deals, make peace and even contact new races, but nothing would prepare him for what he was about to go through.
Ever since he was in the miller administration, he had a feeling of wanting.. wanting to do something grater, he turned his head over to look at a holographic panel that was blinking, and that shuttered on with a view of the vastness and darkness of space, the thousands of little blinking lights that made up the universe . He came here for one reason, to make sure that one of these blinking lights still existed as long as it can, so war would not happen, so countless lives would not be lost over a piece of real estate … he sighed gently looking back down towards the commander who was sitting in his chair overlooking the day to day operations of the ship, no reply… none yet.. the commander himself wondered, would this be worth the trip or would it just serve as a spark to the powder keg, the command and he were both linked to the ship via wireless quantum entanglement AI, so even if they did die they would be able to download themselves in to new bodies back home all those light years away.
Ever since those faithful days where he was always under stress, back on New Earth were he over saw incidents , such as alliances braking up, looming threats of war, and meetings with foreign heads of state, he wasn’t the same man he used to be, no he never will be again for now he was traveling the sea of stars looking for new species, and new people to talk to and make peace with , ending up here though, he was surprised, he knew war wouldn’t be pretty for either side if it came…
When he was younger he would have said to himself… this isn’t worth it blow them to hell, because he wouldn’t have thought this of any importance to his glory. But … time and time again his age, his experience, they made him smooth around the edge, they made him mature and wiser. He knew this wasn’t going to be easy and going in half cocked to a situation such as this would have created an entirely new situation. The Terran federation and the republic both wanted the same thing, peace over the system , but he knew the other side wouldn’t see it that way. The Terrans had rushed in and decimated IoM forces in the system while they were at war with the republic, the IoM never responded, and the federation proceeded to claim the system. Now considering themselves the power , they could do two things, negotiate peacefully, to try to come to an end, either making a monetary transaction or giving access rights to all three sides, or like he would when he was in the TFMC, say just blow them to hell. Alas though it was time, he wander off through the long winding halls of the massive cruiser towards the well lit smooth ornately decorated transporter chamber..

<Beaming privileges granted> came the reply to the UTS Enterprise from Nova Roma Fleet Control, along with the coordinates of the amphitheater complex that Alexander had chosen as the meeting place. The Neo-Romans valued efficiency, and there was no point in adding another leg to the Federal diplomat's journey when he could get himself straight to his destination. Alexander was already there, along with a century of one of the Neo-Roman home legions to make sure matters did not come to blows.
Awaiting the Dratherian delegation on the tarmac was a smaller division of Neo-Roman Marines. Centurion Quintilianus, distinguished from the rest of the Marines only by the scarlet transverse crest running along the back of his helmet, stepped forward. "I bid you welcome on behalf of Junior Senator Alexander and the Republican Senate, Dratherians. If you will step aboard this transport we will escort you to the meeting location." He gestured to a large Neo-Roman Fury fighter-bomber-transport waiting on the tarmac behind him and his Marines.

Johnas bowed gracefully his shining pristine armor stylized with the Aquilla approached the transport. Behind him the Angel of Destruction, Kailen, walked by his wings tensed ready for flight in his pristine artificer armor. Finally last came Captain-General Orion of the Custodian Guard. His armor was a brilliant gold and stylized in the manner of a leader. Behind him in tight formation were his honor guard of Custodes Terminators. The massive lumbering beings in terminator armor were a formidable sight indeed and far more fearsome than any Space marine Terminator. It was unusual to see the Guard in this kind of delegation but it was necessary. As they boarded the transport Johnas smiled.....
