IC:
As the cometing teams arrive to the event grounds, they see a poster welcoming them, and reads the following:
Welcome to the very first Aggresive-Defensive Alliance of Nations military olympics, a place for the ADAN's AAN and DAN segments to flex their military muscle in every genre.
Terror Incognitia
03-03-2008, 22:42
The Incognitian Army was sending parts of the team as required, as not all the events had yet been announced.
This contingent consisted of one Challenger 2-2 of the highest standard currently in service with the Army, with most systems uprated by about 25% from the original Challenger 2; and one Challenger Armoured Recovery Vehicle.
Commanded by Major Thomas Scott, usually a Squadron Commander in the Second Hussars, the party consists of:
Lieutenant Sofia Lawrence, commander of Challenger 2-2 5079 'Bulging Betty'.
Cpl Edward Sturgeon, driver.
Trooper Robert Wood, gunner.
Trooper James Gough, loader.
and a small party of EME (Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) who came with their CARV.
They had arrived via two separate A380M flights, each capable of carrying a Challenger and some stores; they were now settling into their encampment, finishing preparations on Betty for the morning, and generally engaging in the sort of activity that soldiers never seem to fall short of; preparation for...well, something.
Hurtful Thoughts

The Hurtian government decided to send a 'do anything' group to the competition, as the enigmatic Antigrians had a tendancy to throw extra competitions up at the last second...
The arrival consisted of literally a dozen planes, two F-4 Phantom IIs, and ten C-17 Globemasters, as due to the shorter ranges involved, aerial rufueling was unnecessary.
Such was a rather heavy load for only 50 passengers (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13491098&postcount=32), but the planes where mostly for the heavy cargo (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13486744&postcount=29) they carried instead.
The loadmasters from the C-17's laboured feverently to offload this cargo (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13493701&postcount=38).
Inside the monsterous hulls were a multitude of armored vehicles and their associated support vehicles. One of these vehicles was evidently so massive it was shipped in pieces, and each part was dragged out by a rather large tracked prime-mover with the name "Earthshaker Five" stenciled upon its sides.
The First man on the tarmac was a cameraman named Steve, followed by Barney Gumbal, who then stood at parade rest as the others piled out, formed up by unit at attention, and held this position in unison for thirty seconds, any mistake would resualt in another thirty seconds of standing there.
Shortly afterwards they were allowed to parade rest as they waited for some instructions on what to do next.
Meanwhile, the two phantoms had taxiied up to a hardstand.
[HT, for the last time, there is no second 'i' in Antigran]
The first two heavy transports touched down, followed by another four plus helicopters and lighter transports.
One of the heavylift helicopters carried the men, 50 of them, and in the other transports was the equipment, namely;
3 MT-85D 'Marauder' MBTs, 3 men each
2 MTE-85R 'Marauder' Heavy armoured recovery vehicles, 3 men each,
for this contest. Also contained were light vehicles, artillery, small arms, and other weaponry.
[consider this a well-RPed IC bump for stuff to happen]
The most senior member of the Antigran team was General Sandrez, cheif of foreign operations and veteran of 25 campaigns. He walked down the ramp of the plane and jumped in a GPL Jeep, and went out to look for the Hurtians and Incognitians.
