IC: It's been five years since the defeat of the Demon Lord 'Tommie'. The world has been in a relatively peaceful state since then, with the Mista maintaining peace in the underworld, and the Half-Dragon's land regaining their prey.

However, the forces that be in that which does not see Tommie's death as an opportunity. In Tokyo, Japan, another powerful lord is stirring. In fact, all over the world, more and more strange things are awakening. And the different shades of darkness prepare themselves for battle.

Orin was above the city. Not in a metaphorical or egotistical way, but literally levitating above the city. She had been there for around an hour, looking down. It was peaceful up here. There was no noise other than the birds. Nothing other than the shadows.
...
Shadows? She looked closer and saw that nothing was there on the cloud bank. She frowned and shook her head.
"I've been up here far too long."

Aires was on board a military prison truck, he was almost laughing out loud, these people couldnt hold him. He broke the chains easily and punched the guard next to him threw the side of the truck, as he litterally opend the truck up like a canopener and jumped out, people screamed as he showed himself.

The Mista stood on top of one of Tokyo's many tall buildings. On the street, he would have stood out a mile amongst the shorter greyer Japanese. However, up here, he was safe amongst the neon lights and night of the sky. He was watching the rooftops and the ground below for signs of any trouble. He had been warned by an Irish Mista in London that the Demons were getting more and more daring. He knew what that meant. It meant he had to be careful. And watchful.

Orin heard the screams and turned to see Aires bursting from the truck. He sighed.
"Another day." She floated down unenthusiastically.
"Would you mind stopping and going away? It's been a long day and I don't feel like a fight." Her eyes glowed in that reverse way they did, the red irises seemingly floating in the black eyes.

In hell Azazil stood over looking the damed souls of hell labour endlessly in the excrutiating heat when a figure robed in black apraoched him.
"You summoned me master?" the figuer asked, its outline bluring slighly as it altered ts form to match that of it master.
"Yes, Mistrust has learned of an angel of destruction on the mortal plane. Hunt her down, make her suffer, destroy everything she holds dear! I woulld of course prefer it if she could be turned but if the chance arises kill her first."
"as you wish, master" the man said and turned, his outline bluring as he again changed to his favoured form. Revealing his pure white wings with blackend tips he lept off the cliff and plumited o the ground bellow, vanishing when he touched it.

Above Tokyo the clouds twisted in un-natural shapes, forming a pentagram in the sky. The pentagram turned to flames as in its center a black figure materialised. and rocketed to the ground on wings of fire, the pentagram falling behind him.

He slamed into the ground in the midst of a gang meeting, the pentacle hiting seconds later. Miraculusly no one was hurt.
"Woah, what is this shit?" said one gang leader, looking at what looked like a black skeleton stood in the center of the five pointed star. The skeleton beckoned to him and he was in explicably drawn to it, his cloaths burting into flame as he he crossed the circular boundry line of the pentacle but he didn't care, those black pits that were once eyes were all that matered.

He stped in the center and the skeleton steped into him, literaly walked into his body, and he was emidatly extinguished, his cloaths replaced with black armor and a long flowing cloak, his face altered to a pale, handsom face. His eyes where yellow with black slits for pupils and his hair was pure black, flowing down his back. " Let the suffering begin!!" shouted the strange man and ran forward, stabing each of the gang members in the heart with one of his long, black swords with blinding speed. After 3 minutes some 14 skeletons stood around the figuer, all as black as the first in fine bronze coloured armor weilding scimtars.
"The angel is here somewhere, find her, cause as much suffering as you can to her and those who you meet!" Shouted the man to a series of aproving clicking noised from the skeletons as they advanced thrugh the door way into the bustling Tokyo streets. A woman screemed, then anther, then another, then gunshots rang as the gangs guards opened fire.

The man walked over to the nearest corpse and stuck his finger into the wound left by his sword, licking the blood from his finger. Satisfyed he began to draw out the blood from the body, spreading it over the walls and floor, before proceeding to the next body n repeting the process, in this manner most of the room was soon covered in satanic markings. Smiling to himself the fugure sat in the center of the pentagrams scorched outline and meditated, seeing the world thrugh the eyes of his minions.

Orin heard the gunshots and frowned.
"Oh, come on, not again." She flew over head and saw the skeletons attacking the gangmembers.
"Hmm.... Well, they do deserve it, damn yakuza." She settled down on a roof and watched, her sword slightly unsheathed. She'd intervene eventually.

They were everywhere.
Sniggering, sneering demons, walking and flying and crawling on their bellies. Demons you can see as plain as day, demons who are concealed until it is too late. Minions, all of them, to the Prince of Darkness. The cabbie in front of him could be one. All the people in the cars around him could be, some probably were. Demons prevaded though every corner and cranny of society, in visible sight.
Waiting.
Seth leaned back in his seat from studying the cab driver, a short fat man with piggish eyes and a pug nose. Beside him Nadoka stared out the window into the warm Los Angeles sun. City of Angels. Hah. The airport came into view, a massive complex of glass and steel. Paying the driver, the two took what little they had, a suitcase and a duffel bag, and strode into the airport. At twenty-one and nineteen they were no longer the children they had been six years ago.
When it happened.
Seth still remembered as clearly as he saw reality in front of him. He, fifteen, and his thirteen-year-old sister, Nadoka, had been in Seth's room, talking about some band somewhere. Then they heard the screams, the cries, the roars. Seth had ran downstairs to discover his mother had been dismembered by a huge, leather-winged creature with a sword. His father had a kitchen knife, of all things, and was backing away. Even as Seth watched the knife was torn from his fathers grasp. He shouted "Seth! Run!" before the monster fell onto him, tearing him apart. Nadoka was hiding on the stairs, spared from the terrible images. Seth grabbed her and they ran for it out the back door, Seth grabbing his fallen bike where he had let it fall by the mailbox. His sister hanging on behind him, they tore down the street, into the night. Several nights of running, only resting during the day with little food or water, grief stricken, confused and terrified, they were both on the verge of collapse when they found a cottage just inside the woods. It looked empty, and thinking they could break in to steal food and money, they were instead confronted by an ancient, wizened man. He fed them, taking them in, letting them rest. It was then that he told them why they were being hunted, and what was hunting them. Demons, seeking to destroy the Angel of Armaggedon while she was trapped in human form. Impossible, but what Seth had seen could not be denied. The man offered a way to protect themselves: Grant Seth unnatural powers, possessed only by high ranking demons. In return, though, he would pay a terrible price: For each month after he would be forced to take one human life, or lose his power forever. Accepting, they set out once again, crossing the entire country to come here, to escape to a different country, a different world. All the way they had battled demons, and Seth had killed seventy two people. Scum, thugs, gangsters, criminals who were stains on the face of society. But Seth found his hands increasingly stained with the blood of demons and mortals alike. Nadoka refused to beleive it when she first heard, but after countless battles with the forces of the Underworld she was forced to accept her fate. Now the two fled away from the country. One last hurdle: Making it though the airport and into the air unharmed by any demons lurking here.

"That they are. One thing minions are is effective. However, using skeletons wasn't a wise choice." She flicked a hand at one of the skeletons and it's arms and legs flew off, it's torso making an odd clack when it hit the ground. The limbs flew over to Orin, who handed them to the man. Seth whirled, lashing out at the thing, but it was already gone. Having paid for their tickets, he looked around, scanning faces. Nothing. Nadoka looked everyway wildly, trying to spot the one who had spoken to her. Seth placed a hand on her shoulder. "C'mon." he muttered. Passing though security, they stood in a airport plaza, surronded by diners and trinket stores, a book store, everything a traveler could want. A large time board read out his flight:
Tokyo, Japan

Take off: 4: 15

Seth noted the Mista's presence. The police force of the underworld were wild cards to him and Nadoka, sometimes good and helpful, other times a hiderence and overly protective of their given area. Seth naturally radiated the presence of a demon to those who could sense it. One time a Mista had helped him defeat an entire Leigon of demons in Ohio. More recently, however, a Mista in Nevada had attempted to stop him, getting in his way, trying to kill him with the misunderstanding of Seth as a force of Darkness. Seth had left the man tied up in a warehouse, bound by far more than just chains and locks. So this Mista could be here to assist or to capture, or simply to observe. The demon had undoubtably noticed the Mista as well, and he could be calling for reinforcements. Seth hoped the Mista would be willing to help, because if he wasn't things could get even more nasty then they already were. It would be so easy for the demons to strand them here at the airport to pick Nadoka and Seth off at their choosing, what with increased security it would take little to close the airport. Seth's plan relied on timing, some skill, and a great deal of luck. But for now...
He squeezed Nadoka's leg. "Go to the restroom. Our order should be here soon. Speak to no one, do not dwadle." Nadoka nodded mutely and rose to hurry across the hall to the doors marked restroom.

If all went like he thought, the guards and Mista should delay the demons long enough for his crazy plan to work.

The Mista took this as his cue to enter the fray. He had been taken aback by the Demon's sudden appearance but now, amidst the screaming at the Guard's death, he approached the Demon from behind,
"Not nice to kill people in the Airport, Monsieur" He said in a soft French accent, "It really is the height of bad manners"

The lead one stopped, lifting his rifle. "You there! Stop or we will open fire!" Seth twisted his body and dodged away into the alcove on the bathroom just as rounds flew past the place he was just in. Nadoka was already at the door, face whiter then usual, cringing with each shot. "What's going on?"

"Fight if you must but kill one person other than each other and I'll kill you both. Okay?" A vein twitched in her neck. She flew alongside Seth.

"Seriously, this days been far too long." She slashed her hand in a line across the swat men and all their guns simultaneously turned around and shot each man once in the kneecap." She frowned.

All the SWAT tumbled to the floor, shocked at being shot by their own comrades, kneecaps broken and flesh torn. Seth took the chance, running with his sister down the hall, back to the terminal. But to make it to there they would have to make it past the battling Mista and demon Lord, and undoubtly more demons.

"Christ," Seth skidded to a halt in such a way that he should have left burning tire marks in his wake. Dragging them into a abandoned ship, he spoke quickly, eyes scanning outside.
"Six years ago our parents were killed by demons. We've been on the run ever since, and every possible route of transportation has either been monitored by demons or is too dangerious. This airport is the only place left. How I got my powers is a long story, but the point is that I have to kill a human every month to retain them. Nadoka is one of the Angels of the Apocalypse, and the demons think by killing her they can halt the coming Armageddon. She dosen't have any powers, and she can't do anything herself. All I can do is protect her. I thought that if we fled the country we might be safe, but now that the demons have followed we might be plauged by them forever. I have told you our story. I don't care about yours right now, there's no time. I have a plan. Will you help us?"
He stared ernestly into her eyes. The Reaper. There was only one Reaper...

Seth looked amused while Nadoka shook her head. "If we could teleport across the ocean, do you think we'd be here right now? No. It took us six years to cross the United States, from the East coast to the West, hitching, buying rides, stealing rides, walking, hiking. Here's what I was thinking," he paused, looked at her. "Do I call you Death or Orin or Reaper or what?"

Orin thought for a minute.
"Death should be neutral, but I've no intention of crossing a Horseman. or horsewoman, rather." She nodded. "Sure, I'll help. I reckon you would be safer in Tokyo, I know the city better. It's this city's name, it draws demons. Kind of a joke I suppose." She clapped her hands together. "So, we need to get there. How is another matter entirely." He looked at the two of them. "You have any special teleporting powers?"

"What I was thinking is what everyone is afraid of: A highjacking. A plane, one with enough fuel to cross the Pacific to Tokyo. But for that we need a pilot, and I doubt anyone here knows how to fly one. Therefore we need to capture one of the pilots and force him to fly us there. Any strings you or that Mista can pull in the Japanese government to let us land in Tokyo need to be pulled now. But this is a complicated plan: We will need to secure the pilot, get to the plane, make sure the plane is ready to go, and actually get to Japan. All the while avoiding demons and SWAT. They will already be locking down the airport, so we must be swift. If you can locate a bring a pilot, we can take care of securing a plane. Answer quick, there is no time to lose." Seth took another nervous glance out into the empty airport.

There was a breif pause then "I shall kill non but you then, mista, at least till this duel is over, i hope you can handle yourself, for your sake!" and he struck, his blackend blades swirling in a series of complex blows.

The skeletons rounded the corner to find the swat members stumbling around blindly "More recruits!" wispered the skeleton captain, pulling out a black dager he threw it with deadly acuracy into the neck of one man, pulled out another and repeted the proceses several more times untill he ran out of knives. As each of the men struck the floor thier skeletons rose up again, thier colour going from pure white to deepest black.

Each of the skeletons picked up some manner of weapon and advanced down the coridor slowly "We know your here, we don't need to see you, we sense you. You will die for your efforts, once the angel is in our grasp" whispered the captain again, his voice carrying down the coridor. There were now 23 skeletons.

Seth's Position

There was a flash as two Mista suddenly appeared. Japan was rare in that, instead of there only being a handful of Mista, there were many. Japan had a long history of Demon contacts,

First Death, then Kash, now Mista? Seth wished he had had this help before. There was a rattling noise up the corridor and he saw over twenty skeleton warriors, armed with knives and swords and automatic SWAT weapons, advance towards their position. "I have no time for this," Seth growled. He looked at Orin, Kash and the Mista in turn. "You," he pointed to Orin, "find a pilot. You," he pointed to Kash, "keep the humans distracted and off our backs. You two," he pointed to the Mista, "there's twenty-three skeleton soldiers down that hall. Have fun."
Seth could have easily taken care of the skeletons himself, but why fight when he had friends to do it for him? Without waiting for anyone to object or make comments, Seth grabbed Nadoka and, carrying her in his arms, lauched them over the heads of the skeletons to the other side, hitting the floor running. They had to trust the Mista would take down the skeletons before they could follow. For Seth's plan to work, he needed to secure a plane. And the planes were at the terminal, which ment passing the battling Mista and Carrnage, plus destroying any minor demons that got in his way.
Airport enterance...
Fifty SWAT poured in as more police cruisers and SWAT APCs pulled up to the airport. Their mission was to eliminate all terrorists inside, with orders to shoot to kill.
Airport runways...
More vehicles and SWAT troopers spilled across the runways, cutting off any chance of escaping by plane and sending more SWAT to the terminal to enter though the planes if their comrades on the other side were unsuccessful.

Julia watched the chaos within the airport and sighed. When the Lord had given all his subjects free will, this wasn’t what he had had in mind for it. Not only were his children killing each other but his Angels, those who should have known better. They had been the first to abuse the Free Will in the first place so it wasn’t surprising that this was happening. She let her mind wander back to the dark days of Heaven…

Unknown amount of time ago

It had come to this. After a century of war, billions of Angels fallen, this is where it would end. Lucifer and his cronies had thought they could make themselves better than the Lord, his loyal subjects had other ideas. Lucifer had tried for 100 years to destroy the forces of light, annihilate those who believed in the Lord’s word and decisions. They were now at the gates of Heaven and this was the end.

Julia sighed deeply at the sight that confronted her. She was standing on a cloud above the main battlefield watching as the combined Armies of Heaven clashed for what she prayed would be the last time. The battlefield was split into three different tiers, the top two were crowded with Archers, pulled a long, slender arrow from the quivers on their backs. They were waiting for the hordes of Lucifer’s warriors to swarm across and crash against the phalanx that made up the bottom layer. Each Angel on the ground was equipped with a long spear, a large round shield and a gold Corinthian helmet. They waited. Julia turned to face the Angel that stood on her left hand side. As always, she was overcome with awe at the sight of the male in armour and wearing the same helmet as his men. This was Saint Michael, a leader amongst Angels and the highest of Archangels. He was also commanding this final battle with his fellow Gabriel at his side.

Along the horizon, Lucifer’s army approached. Although it was all on the ground level, the constant ranks of white were occasionally interrupted by massive monsters, Demons created by Lucifer to augment his army, to boost it’s combat effectiveness.

“Julia,” The voice was Michael’s, strangely soothing but determined at the same time, he inspired confidence in the entire Army. As long as he was here, they couldn’t lose, “Prepare the Archers. Fire on your mark”

“My mark?” She asked, alarmed that he was placing so many men under her personal command. The battle would be won or lost on the Archers.

“I trust your judgement, Julia, if anyone can command the Archers, it’s you.” With that, he turned and leapt down to join the men on the ground. Julia nodded, filled with confidence at his statement,

She turned back as the masses of dark Angels and Demons started to melt into a single mass, charging to smash the golden ranks of Infantry,

“Archers, prepare to fire!” She called as the men lifted an arrow as one and set it into their longbows. There were men crammed onto very space of those two clouds.

Orin growled. The growl grew louder and deeper as the fire closed in. Then, just as it touched Orin's feet, it disappeared. Her face flashed skeletal for a moment, before the room darkened.
"Bad move." She transformed into her angrier self.

“Archers! Loose!” She cried, pointing her sword at the advancing enemy[/QUOTE]

Carnage was in the midst of the deamonic hords, his armor blacker than the void, and was proboly the quickest to react to the archers attack "FORM UP! USE YA SHIELDS YA SCUM!!" he roared in his terable voice, doing as he had said the deamons began to catch the arrows on thier sheilds rather than thier bodys, despite this they still took a fair few losses. "SEND IN THE BEAMOTHS (http://www.carbonmatter.com/images/GW_Bloodthirster.jpg)!!" he shouted. From with in the ranks of deamons a gread pounding could be heared, like that of a great drum as the Beamoths strode thrugh the assembled hords, thier wings blazing with black fire, the blood on thier axes glinting in the light from beyond the pearly gates. As the Beahamoths neared the frontlines they spotted thier targets, the archers, and took off, aiming to both distract them and masacer them.

As the Beamoths took flight the deamonic army broke ranks, rushing towards the waiting phalanxs The hords stoped just out of charging distance and threw black speares, burning with hell fire, into the waiting spearmen before rushing forward into the ensuing chaos.

OOC: You know you lose this battle, don't you?

Julia watched as the entire front rank of Demons fell under a volley that blocked out the sun itself. The advancing Demons were leaving a carpet of their own dead as they ran. They were facing the phalanxs of St Michael, large shields and four ranks of long spears waiting for the demons to throw themselves against the points. As the Behemoths took flight, so too did a full layer of Angels. Before they did however, the Archers loosed another volley into the clouds and at the attacking Demons.

Each bearing a one handed kopis or spears to engage the demons. Unlike their Hoplite brethren, these Angels wore gallic helmets so they could see what was around them. Leading these aerial combatants was non other than the Archangel Gabriel.

"And it is not our place to question why, i came here to kill an ange. If i must kill you to do so then so be it, a shame I must kill you, a fellow deamon, but everything has its time, even God"
"Our Father, who art in Heaven hallowed by thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kindgom, the power, and the glory, forever," he grinned, more blood falling to the floor with a wet splatter. "Amen. So be it."
"Bad move."
"I must agree," said Seth mildly, "now you've pissed off Death. How many enemies are you going to make today?" Another florish of the sword. "A demon before you, an angel to the right of you, Death to the left, humans behind you, Hell and Satan below you and Heaven and God above. You are trapped, surronded, dead but still breathing."

"I'm rather afraid you both have. According to this...." She held out her hand an an hourglass appeared. The sands of it were almost full. "This is yours. Now lets take away the sands of those who you've murdered." She waved her hand over the top and most of it disappeared. "So I guess a preemptive reaping won't hurt. You" She turned to Carnage now, "I'll just kill you. I doubt anyone would care about the death of a demon." She flourished the sythe, then slashed with the sythe at Seth. A line of shadow came from the sythe, and anything it hit would instantly have its lifeforce taken away.

While all this was occuring, Alex Cragoth, also known as HellFire, was taking his time in the toilets of the Airport, calmly ignoring the ruckus. Finishing his buisness, he emerged to see quite the strange series of events. 'Starts getting to be that a man can't take a plane trip to wreak havoc in a third world country...'

He looked around at the somewhat battered surrounds, noting in particular the demonic Death-like form of one being as it attacked another two, and the waning battle between the mista and the undead beings. 'Great. There had to be more highly powerful beings around here...'

Sighing melodramatically, he raised one of his hands, and jet-blue flames erupted from it, shooting toward the mista and the undead. 'If I can't get to my destination, I may as well cause havoc here...'

The Mista were quick enough to flip over the flames, rolling through the air to avoid the attack, the skeletons were incinerated, falling to the ground as dust. Both Mista landed quickly and easily on their feet and stood up, looking at Hellfire,
"Another Demon?" One of them asked in English with a Japanese accent, the other just sighed in annoyance.

At the same time, near to Seth's position, Julia burst through one of the many glass windows. Didn't matter about steel shutters or anything, nothing would stop her. Her eyes narrowed as she saw Carnage and Death,
"Not again," She muttered, "Can't you take a hint?" She asked Carnage.

At the Mista's words, Alex did naught but laugh. 'Daemon? You think I am one of those hellspawn brats?' he sputtered, still laughing.

Calming himself down, he said, grinning, 'Oh, that is funny... no, I am no Daemon. My name is Alex Cragoth. But you can call me...'

He erupted into flame.

'... Hellfire...'

With that word, he unleashed a wall of flame toward the Mista.

Both Mista were able to duck behind nearby corners and so avoid the wall of searing heat as it passed, they rolled back into the main corridor to stare at Hellfire again, their weapons had been tucked back into holsters, they knew it was useless to try and fight,
"And what is your purpose in this place, Hellfire?" The Japanese one asked, patiently, his face hidden behind his hood.

'Well, I was here to be on my way, board an airliner, blow it up in midflight, and fly off to a Third World country to sear it into oblivion, but with these... events... I've had to change my plans. At present, my purpose is to destroy. To make the world pay for its crimes...'

Finishing his short monologue, he extends one arm, pointing it to the right of his body, and a flaming blade forms in his hand. He looks ready to leap toward the Mista, but stops and lowers his blade.

'I am, however, a fair man - assuming I can be called 'man' anymore, or if I should even want to be called as such. Thus, I give you a chance. Convince me that I am wrong. Convince me that the world is worthy of redemption, and that it should not be burnt clean of the festering decay that is Homo Sapiens.'

The Mista feel to their knees and, without another word, the hooded figure fell forward. As they did so, the hood slipped off to reveal a young girl, no older looking than twelve years old. Nadoka ducked under the blade and ran, half tripping. She dove behind a smashed airliner desk that had been torn apart by Orin's strike. The pilot frowned to himself and ran a wrinkled hand along the stomach wound that should have been there. Pain still existed, but there was no blood, no hole. Suddenly there was the sound of boots hitting polished tile floor and SWAT teams began to pour though from the opposite end of the airport. Outside the windows helicopters hovered, guns trained on the little terminal that held the angels, demons and other supernatural nasties. Above more helicopters dropped men onto the roof, and APCs, trucks and vans rolled in outside from all direction. A few minutes behind the National Guard had mobilized, not mere police or SWAT, but actual military. The airport was threatened, and so were all the civilians. After the attacks, no one was taking any chances. Seth rolled his eyes. "For the love of God. Angels, demons, Mista, skeletons, SWAT, what's next? The fucking Easter Bunny?" Now that everyone seemed to be fighting each other, he backed away to the door behind him, a hall extending out to a fueled plane. He grabbed Nadoka on the way, and muttered some incantations under his breath. A twisting black shadow (http://sharigan.deviantart.com/art/Shadow-Demons-35647776) rose out of the floor, grabbed the pilot, and made off with him, flying straight though a wall to the plane outside. Nadoka ran along the hall to the plane too, the summoned shadow demon would protect her. Seth stood at the doorway and watched. He didn't actually care if any of the Mista or Orin wanted to come with. In fact, in would be better if they didn't, doing so would only attract more attention to himself and Nadoka. No, he had to defend the plane while they started it. Only after it was completly ready to taxi for liftoff could he afford to board.

Sam sweated heavily as he worked the controls. The plane started it's engines with a loud rumble that could be easily heard inside the airport. Hovering in the air above the Terminal, he quickly took in the scene: the aircraft taxiing out, the helicopters, the APCs, nothing escaped his eyes. A second later, he soared over to the aircraft, and, hovering above it, he formed a swarm of fireballs to him, which swiftly began to orbit him. He then called a single ball of hellfire to his hand, and threw it at the APCs. Ka-boom.

Looking out the window, the Metal Man saw an airplane taxiing down the runway, what looked like a man--a meta, but basically human--hovering over it with fire, and some form of uberbeing flying down to attack it.

"Excuse me," he said to the reaper. In a moment, the maglevs in his legs had blasted him through the window. He impacted the winged being with a resounding thud. The maglevs gave him an advantage in the air--he was much quicker and more agile than anything that flew on wings.

"Pardon me," he said as they flew off on a new course, "but what's all the commotion about?"

As he spoke, the scratches on his artificial skin, made when he went through a closed window, healed away.

OOC: Unwise to use black fire. The two of them are touching.

IC:

The fire engulfed the cyborg, burning off his skin. Beneath it, a metal chassis, scorched black, now showed through. Then, the fire proceeded to spread back across their touch to its maker.

"Do you have any idea how hard these things are to grow?" the Metal Man asked, annoyance heavy in his voice. "Sounds to me like you're trying to tamper in things you shouldn't be," he continued. "Now, I'll have to punish you."

Weapons? When your fist is made out of high-strength, silver impregnated alloy (the silver helps to keep the corrosion down), you don't need too many of them. WHAM! The cyborg released his grip just long enough to loose an extremely powerful left hook, aimed right at Carnage's chin. The force of the blow caused the two to separate.

-------------
OOC: NOTE: I didn't write that it actually HIT Carnage, only that it was AIMED for him. How he'd slither out of a punch thrown while the puncher was holding on to him is another matter. I suppose he could use his free arm to block it if you want--but it's coming hard and fast, and it'll take quite an effort to stop completely--in fact, it might take the blocking arm along with it. Not my call, though.
-------------

IC:

It took some effort, but the maglevs kept him stable when the gusts hit him.

"I am called the Metal Man," he said. "Do you have a name?" As he spoke, a flange that supported the fingers on his left hand moved down out of the way, and a sword extended through his wrist and out of the sheath that had been underneath the back of his hand. As with so many of the Metal Man's accoutrement's, it added High Technology to old-school ideas. The nickel-titanium-silver alloy of the outer blade backed up a noncrystalline diamond at the edge of the blade. A laser generator in the hilt could heat the blade hotter than the sun. It could cut through almost anything--including a vampire. The wavelength of the laser was set to emulate the properties of sunlight. Between the blade and the sheath, an emitter also spread forward. This was a freeze ray. The right hand was similarly equipped, but had a plasma blaster instead. As yet, this remained undeployed.

Seth stared at the Metal Man. He opened his mouth to say something, when he heard a tremendous explosion outside and saw three of the SWAT APCs that blocked the plane's path erupt into balls of flame, arching high into the air. Sam dutifly sped down the now cleared runway as the strange man jumped out the window, or rather flew, taking a good section of the plane wall with him. Seth suddenly realised that they were about to take off and not only was the door open, there was now a rather large hole in the side of their aircraft. He nodded his head and his summoned Shadow Demon stretched itself over the hole, covering it and cutting off and sound and sight, making it appear to be a non-attractive black hole in the side of the plane, both from the inside and out. Winds buffeted him as Seth reached out and slammed the door shut, twisting in into a locking position as the plane lifted unsteadly off the ground. Seth sighed and dropped into a seat on the opposite side, calling out. "Sam, you doing alright?"
"Just fine, sir, fine." Came Sam's steady voice. Seth hoped the old guy didn't have a heart attack. In midair that would be rather messy. Turning, he now surveyed the plane's occupents. Nadoka, having hidden the pistol once more, sat with her head in her hands, staring at the floor. Kash and seven of his clones filled up a good part of the first class seating, all looking calm and conplacent. And, of course, Death, or Orin, smoking a cigeratte. He sighed to himself, closing his eyes.
"Why do divine and evil forces continuly see fit to mess with my life?" he asked aloud. Purely rethorical, although he already knew the answer, so that may be stretching the definition. It was all, or at least mostly, because of Nadoka. Not her, specifically, but the awesome, untapped potential inside of her as one of the Angels of the Apocalypse. Evil to destroy her or corrupt her powers for their own ends, Heaven and it's own apparently ineffective forces to protect her. Thinking, he reviewed the past persons and their intentions and agendas. The demons were obvious, their mission was to kill Nadoka. The Mista were equally obvious, to prevent war between the Celestial and the Underworld, but they were an obsolete organization. War was inevitable. They were severly outmatched by the titanic forces contending here. Orin, aka Death? He wasn't sure. Amusement, perhaps she was bored. Who knew? Kash, likewise. He seemed to have no alligences. The strange, fire-blasting man? Equally unknowable, once a foe and then a helper. The latest apperation, who had made the hole in their plane seemed some kind of investigator for whatever purpose, Seth had seen him clash with Carnage, so he was at least hostile to demons. And humans everywhere, caught up in the mix and slaughtered.
Airport...
The SWAT men and vehicles moved out of the way as armored Army tanks, APCs and Humvees roared towards the airport. National Guard forces advanced steadly, and interception planes and strikers were two minutes out. Their target was off the ground, but had been painted. The commercial airliner would be shot down. Meanwhile the amount of human activity inside the airport lulled, the SWAT having either retreated, died, or been turned into warrior skeletons.

It was time. They'd had enough of this. The fact that this amount of activity was going on was an embarrassment to both them and the mission they tried to follow. They were not going to stand for this any longer.

So the Mista descended on the airport.

There were at least three dozen, an Army for the Mista. Their hood less faces watched the National Guard and the SWAT battling with the skeletons and now they would enter the fray.

The Angels had had their fun. It was time to clean the wound.

They leapt over the Vans and cars that had formed a perimeter around the airport and hurtled towards the main terminal, their drawn weapons gleaming in the sun. They were not fast enough to dodge a bullet, but they were faster than a man trying to aim the weapon and so no matter how quickly the Soldiers moved, the Mista would always be a half second ahead of their sights.

The Mista burst through the glass windows of the terminal and went to work butchering the Skeletons inside. They were no match for the half-breed warriors.

Seth just shook his head. "Wish people would stay outta my life..." he muttered. The demon man rose and sat in one of the clone's vacated seats next to Nadoka, letting her bury her face in his shirt. He stroked her head and murmured words of comfort into her ears.
Airport...
Pistols and automatic rifles could only chip away at the skeleton soldiers, but 50. cal and tank shells ripped them apart. The National Guard had never seen anything like this, but hell, their mission was to protect their country, and if that ment shooting skeletons, so be it. The Mista ceased to be targeted, once it was evident they couldn't be hit and were destroying the skeletons anyway.

A number of hourglasses appeared in the seat next to Orin, who picked them up one by one, looking at them, rotating a few before they disappeared. When they were all gone, she frowned.
No one dies after all that? Odd... She shouted down to Seth, "Well, I'll be seeing you around." She then stepped through the wall, hovering above the ground. Faint wisps of mist hung around her limbs as she looked around, before slashing the air in front of her with her sythe. A small tear appeared in the air and she stepped through it.

Hellfire watched, chuckling, as the demonic being screamed out, and was promptly smashed into by the second strange being. He spent a few moments watching the two fight, before, still chuckling, he sent a torrent of flame screaming toward the two.

That finished, he noted the National Guard aircraft approaching. 'Discretion always was the better part of valor... but then, I am not valorous... ah well,' he thought, before screaming off at extreme speed, hurling fireballs at the Interceptors in an effort to distract them.

Metal met metal. When it was done, there was a slight dent in the cyborg's face plate, and some of the scorch mark was burned through, leaving a dull, silvery substrate.

"I don't get where you get off lecturing anyone on manners," the Metal Man replied. "Go where you might, I'm going to finish deterring you from future attacks against me before I leave." The right blade extended and the two of them came together, in a move that was similar to a tornado block, where Carnage's arm was, right in front of the cyborg's face. Fortunately, his internal organs--brain included--were all in the center of his body, under a rather heavy armor plate.

There was a funny, circular plate in the center of the Metal Man's chest. For a moment, it glowed, and then his shields went up. This sent several thousand volts into Carnage.

These were both diversions. While Carnage was busy with them, two more guns came out of the Metal Man's shoulders. They were additional plasma weapons, and both of them fired into the fallen angel's wings. Legend had it that, stripped of its wings, an angel lost all of its special powers. The Metal Man regarded this as a hypothesis. Today, he was going to test it. The plasma charges detonated, one in the center of each wing.

As this happened, his shields, still active from his attack, stop a small, moving inferno from turning his armor into a cooking pot. Of course, they also protected Carnage, as he, too, was now inside of them.

I hate being double-teamed.

Julia watched, impressed as the Mista passed through the Skeleton hordes like a hot knife through butter. At the same time, she felt a great wave of pity. She knew they didn't deserve their fate and that, if possible, she would have brought every one of them up to the loving embrace of the Lord. But she couldn't. The Lord had laid everything out then taken a back seat. It was like a Parent with their teenage child. He had guided them through their initial stages of development. The Guardsman paled considerably. A Leigon of men and armored vehicles stared at the three figures, as well as the numerous Mista. At the same time, he glanced down, seeing the National Guard surrounding three unknowns, including the strange, demon/girl being. I really hate being double teamed.

The Metal Man dropped his shields for a moment and slipped past Carnage. In that moment, he managed to get between Hellfire's fireball and the police forces. It would deflect the fire away--prevent the casualties. The National Guard knew who he was--he was, in fact, working with the local law enforcement. He couldn't just hover there and let them die. And if the meta behind him ran into him afterward--well, they'd both find out what they were made out of. As he was moving, he was thinking...

Do I have to be the only--wait a minute. I've got PETE!

An antenna poked out of the usual spot in the Metal Man's left hand.

"Pete, a little help...!"

From a point above and behind Carnage, balls of plasma raced down towards him, targeted particularly at his wings. It wouldn't be as good as the Metal Man, but it might keep him busy long enough to prevent the two of them from destroying the law-enforcing cyborg.

Oh, joy. Now, it's 4-to-one against. Guess I'm going to have to get nasty.

The Metal Man had experience dealing with supernaturals. He knew things.

Threats in order, then. Maximum velocity and acceleration.

So fast that no human eye could follow it, the Metal Man sprang into action.

A wall of plasma fire incinerated the Living Dead, leaving the living alive.

A metal body suddenly appeared in front of the second Reaper. A metal arm came down with a pinpoint karate chop--neatly breaking the creature's scythe at the middle of the handle. The next move was to the other reaper. The scythe blade, left over from the broken handle, went along for the ride. He couldn't kill them, but he could disarm them--and he had dealt with a reaper once before. He was as beyond their power to kill as they were beyond his.

"They're right, gentlemen," he called out, swinging the scythe blade directly at Orin's. "You're no match for them. Please Fall back and leave the combat to the professionals. Hold the man for questioning. I'll need access when this is over." His eyes flashed red as he glanced first at the fallen angel and then at the reaper.

The Metal Man was still partly human, after all that had been done to him--and the human part was a berserker. He keenly felt the thrill of battle, and had to be careful not to get carried away in it. He rained blows down on the reaper he'd spoken with earlier, driving her back from the innocents whom she sought to kill. Every blow became more frenzied than the preceding one. Every swoosh of the weapon felt better. Finally, he swished the scythe through the air and landed a parting shot on her, hard enough to drive her back five feet. Then, he moved on.

A flying saucer appeared overhead. About 100 meters long and silver, she hovered with a soft hissing sound. Now that it he had shown himself, Pete the AI wouldn't waste Brain Jar's power keeping her cloaked. This did not mean that Carnage's diversions had come to an end. Quite the contrary. A white-hot blast of plasma fire, much more powerful than anything the Metal Man could produce on his own, detonated around the fallen angel.

With the reaper moved back, the Metal Man concentrated on his final target. Flying at full speed, he made it over to the meta with the fireballs. He had stopped to watch the spectacle. As the cyborg's hands softly gripped the man's clothing, he quietly whispered, "no need to harm anyone here," into the man's ear. Then, he hurled him into the air, as far to the west as he could. The man should, he calculated, be able to remain airborn--he would not be injured in any way. Somewhere in his mind, he was keenly aware that he, while one of the most violent and directly physical creatures involved in this fracas, was the only one who was actually battling to prevent death and injury.

The airplane was now far enough away to be seen only on radar screens. They were reasonably safe--for now.

Then, he flew back to the reaper that he had left armed. Standing between her and the guards, he held his confiscated weapon straight over his head. It was a deceptively simple maneuver. The earth's gravity would now aid rather than hinder any move he made with the weapon. The urge to just swing it at that creature and let its power work against one of its wielders was incredibly strong, but the Metal Man held his discipline.

"I'm sorry," he said, "but I can't stand still and allow you to murder innocent people. Leave now. You've no business interfering here."

His shoulder-mounts fired simultaneously on the second reaper, sending plasma fire straight at it, directly behind him.

You and the almighty Lucifer" She said this sarcastically, "You can't step back and look at this! You're in the festering heart of this whole problem. Even now, you sit and wait with excitement for death. How can you say Humans have the flaw?" She voiced the opinion of Heaven in her words, the fallen did not deserve to be used in the same breath as the rest of them. The Lord and the Archangels had preached forgiveness but sometimes there was a world between saying something and doing something.

Naturally, Hellfire was quite shaken. 'Why won't these cretins DIE?' He quickly threw fireballs at the missiles incoming, somersaulted left through the air to dodge the bullets, then looked down at the emergent battle.

'Ok... that's it. I've had enough of this bullshit. Time for an apocalyptic ending...' he thought, before he arced up through the air, then screamed down at an extraordinary speed to slam into the ground around the National Guard. Rearing up, a sword of Hellflame forming in his hand, he began to slice through the crowd, alternating between using his blade of flame, and incinerating them with balls of Hellflame.

Hellfire would find all of his attacks blocked by a strange wall of fire not dissimilar to his own. It was Julia who hovered just above the National Guard, her wings beating to keep her in the air
"That is enough" She said coldly, then laughed at his attacks,
"You think you can defeat a messenger of the Lord?" She asked him, "I CREATED your powers and I can outfight you on any level. Want to bring it?" She asked, using some slang she had heard while in Heaven.

The Metal Man stood there, stunned at the arrogance and unconcern of those around him. Then, the shoulder mounts fired, disintegrating the section of the wall that fell from above him before it could hit him. The shards scattered harmlessly.

They had asked. He would state his case.

"That's not what they told me," he said, indicating the guards. "They seem to think that I have a great deal of business here, though I hotly dispute the charge that I started this. That honor would fall to the one who now sits back and watches while we clash. In fact, I was summoned here because the killing had begun. As to interfering with your business, today is simply not the day for all of those brave men and women to die." Should've been 'my compatriot and ME,' the cyborg thought. Your grammar's as bad as your information.

As he spoke, the Metal Man noticed that the reaper wore small hourglasses in her belt. The sands shifted. This was a part of his anti-esper-ness. He could thwart prophesy, and change fate--and he had just changed the fate of half the remaining guardsmen, with more perhaps to follow.

The guardsmen were pulling back, organizing an orderly retreat. Some were already clear of the battle zone. No doubt these were the ones whose hourglasses had changed.

"The scythe blade will probably not explode," he said, "though it will probably increase its efforts to free itself from my grip. I am not its enemy." The blade sighed softly in his hand, and pulled harder. He shook his head. "I should've known that it would be semisentient. Now, my mercy must extend even to it." He released it. It flew back to Kain, and rejoined its other half, healing neatly to reform its former self.

"I live by a code, reaper," he said, "and that code compels me to defend the innocent." More sands shifted. More lives were prolonged. "I don't take it lightly. It also compels me to pass judgment on others as they pass judgment on me. If you cannot forgive me for something I did that was so quickly undone, how am I to forgive you for so rashly killing people whose only crime was attempting to defend their homes? Perhaps you should rethink your judgment, so that I can rethink mine.

"You asked why I fight, angel? I fight to preserve life--to prevent death and suffering--and I am the only one among us who has that distinction. I've already given flesh and blood today to ensure that others would live. Yet, I have injured no one today, with the possible exception of the one who initiated the violence. And, so far, I have suffered far more at his hand than he has at mine. Yet, I soldier on. Can you make any of those claims? Would your Maker be happy with what you've failed to do, angel?" The last word was so filled with righteous indignation that it was almost a sneer.

He turned his gaze back to the reaper. "Come at me or don't," he said, his voice taking on a grim tone. "I've done you no harm, but for battles that you make up in your mind. If you can't forgive me for that, it is completely consistent with your arrant lack of regard for the context of your actions. Either way, I've got other things to get to--not the least of which is to make that arrogant old fool on his arrogant new throne stop thinking about my body parts and start thinking more about his own. Get it over with. Or don't. He's next--unless that so-called angel starts acting like one and stops him before I can."

"You do fight for the right reasons, Metal man" Julia stated from her position in the air, "There are few in this world that do so, the Mista fight for the right reasons as do you. As for my own reasons not to fight, it is not my mission," She shrugged, "If we were to come swooping down every time someone cut their knee then Humanity would never stand on it's own two feet. Humanity was given free will for a purpose, Metal Man, the purpose was to make decisions like you are now. You expect praise for performing something you have chosen to do? It is commendable, Metal man and you will rewarded for your selflessness when the time has come."

That's a minion of hell sitting over there! When they enter the field, all the non-interference stuff goes out the window. And I've spoken with him. He's here for the same thing you are. He's your competition. And you just stand there and make idle chit-chat with him while his plans unfold. Good job! They're really going to appreciate the way you stuck to your parameters when you get out of this. They might even reward you with a cute little trophy shaped exactly like a blindfold!"

He is my competition yes," She shook her head at the lack of understanding from the Metal Man. He thought himself wish after a few centuries. She had existed since the beginning of time itself.,
"When the time, comes Metal Man, you will see why I stand here. I am not here to stop the inevitable, I am here to see who can be saved" She looked at him, "How little you understand."

"I think that, and i can't belive that I'v done this somany times in one day, agree with Juliea. The coming war wil kill all who remain on the mortal plane, leaving the victor to rebuild the universe in thier idea of perfection. No matter what you do, no matter how many you save, they will eventualy be extinguished, it is the purpose of life, to die." Carnage said, rising from his seat "But, if you want to avoid me seeing your demise then I will leave, one death will make little differance compaired to that of an angel. By the way Juliea, i don't intend to kill her, nor convert her, rather to take her to purgetory or even limbo where she can do no harm. "Please return the blade at least." She pointed at the scythe and back to Kain and the scythe flew back to Kain who caught it in midair.
"The next time we meet, I assure you I will not be so reasonable." She slashed with the scythe, then half stepped through the gap.
"Anyone going to Tokyo?"

Seth knew the flight to Tokyo would be a long one, and they would have company. There was no more escaping, not with demons and angels and Death and God knows what else following them, but they would run as long as they could, even if it was delaying the inevitable. No one, he felt, save for God Himself, knew the true purpose of the Angel. Doomsday, of course, but exactly what role Nadoka would play their was unspecified. There were four, of course: Pestilence, War, Conquest, and Death. Death was quite possibly Orin, but it was equally likely she was just another Reaper, and not the Horseman of the End Times. Allies, enemies and observers circled everywhere, only causing more death and destruction. If everyone would stop trying to help, he thought, then maybe we could actually get something done, with minimal loss of life.
Seth saw Carnage, out the window. "RRARRHG!" he screamed, pointing at him. Even as he pointed a second shadow demon appeared outside the plane, grabbing the demon in a bear hug. While larger then Carnage in this form, the shadow demon was a summoned demon, far less powerful then an actual major demon of Hell. It couldn't hope to defeat him, in it's semisentiant mind, but it could slow him down considerably.

Don't they know how I'd like to rest?

As the fallen angel began its travel through the vortex, Pete the AI unleashed a bolt of lightning on the portal, hoping to disrupt it. Instead, it kept it open.

"I bid you adieu, then, reaper," the Metal Man said, "I've still got a lesson in manners to deliver." And, with that, he shot through the portal himself.

In a moment, he had appeared beside the airplane that had recently taken off. He found the fallen angel there--along with a new friend--or was it a fiend? It was difficult to tell. Either way, it had a good grip around the hellspawn's body--almost enough to inconvenience it as it flapped its wings to keep up with the jet airliner.

He couldn't talk to the thing because there was too much wind. He couldn't even smile because his face had been burned off. So, instead, he got straight to the point. He moved around to the front of the thing and threw a nice, sturdy punch straight at its face. Manners 101. Class is now in session.

"Some people just dont know when to quit!!" Carnage yelled, moving the shadow deamon intoi the path of MMs punch "Seeing as your so well in manners perhapse you could tell me the nicest way to rip your organs apart?" he continued, his voice easily carrying across the windswept, barren span of sky.

With a few swift movements carnage sliced the arms of the shadow deamon with the tip of an arrow, fitted it to his bow and fired at MMs back.

Naturally the punch went straight though the shadow demon, hence the "shadow" part. But the arrow point cut away it's arms and it tumbled, latching onto the side of the plane. Regrowing the arms as swiftly as it had lost them, it stubbornly attacked again, grappling onto Carnage as he tried to shoot an arrow at TMM, hopefully throwing off his aim. Inside the plane Seth stood at the window, watching, directing the shadow demon's movements like a puppet. Sam was blissfully unaware of the fight taking place outside, but this gave Seth an idea. If the demon refused to be beaten off, then perhaps the plane could finalize the job? Even as he thought he watched the new arrival, the one who had so rudely punched a hole in their plane. He appeared to have no face, somekind of metal underneth. A cyborg. But whos? Heaven's, Hell's, the government's, freelance? The important part was that he was fighting Carnage. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Seth smiled.

Approaching the plane from below was Julia, beating her wings hard to keep up with the jets, she could see it jerking and moving under the attacks from the Demons. OOC: How can you aim an arrow at the back of someone who's facing you? How could TMM get to the point of punching Carnage in the face without flying around in front of him first?

Maybe the arrow was shot past TMM and turned around, like a guided missile?

----------------------

"Ask yourself that question," the Metal Man replied, "and I'm sure that you'd answer as I do: the most polite way is not to."

As he was saying this, though it was probably lost on the wind (they were, after all, flying at well over 300 miles per hour, chump change for an international jet airliner), several things happened.

First, the arrow flew past the cyborg. This did not mean that he stopped watching it. Anything that could fly that fast while its wielder was keeping up with a jet airplane needed to be watched. Then, sure enough, it turned in the air, and came back at the cyborg from behind.

The skull-like metal casing that now served as the Metal Man's head, since the skin had been burned off of it, barely shifted as the rest of his body did, causing the arrow to just miss him. Now, it was heading toward the fallen angel. This did not last for long. It turned in the air again, this time to avoid its owner--and ran straight into a well-aimed plasma bolt. No more arrow.

The Metal Man's right sword extended again. Still facing the fallen angel, he thrust straight for its head. It dodged easily--but this was as intended. The sword arced gently to the cyborg's left and neatly severed the angel's bowstring. It popped with a soft twang. Then, the blade sliced into the armor on the hand that was behind the bow. Finally, the left sword extended and came up.

It wasn't the Metal Man's strength or speed that made him dangerous in combat. It was his foresight. Part of the thrill of battle was the chess game that he played, anticipating moves and planning his own. Like the fallen angel, he used combinations, not individual blows, and was usually ready when his opponent moved. This was why the cyborg could go a few rounds against not one but two reapers and walk away unscathed. So far, the fallen angel had been too caught up in his own egotistical little world to recognize this. He had even failed to press his advantage when he could have used the reapers to help him damage the cyborg. Now, it was he who was at a numerical disadvantage, and the Metal Man would not make the same mistake.

The shadow demon ripped apart with a sound like cloth tearing, and the hellfire burned it into nothing. It had been no match for the strength and power of the demon. Seth watched as Carnage and the cyborg dueled in midair, clocking over three hundred miles an hour. He shook his head and watched. If the cyborg could defeat the demon, it was all very well and good. If not, Seth would go out there himself. Not a prospect he relished, but if he had to, he had to. He sensed the angel, the bystander, was near, but wether she would help or not was unknowable. Licking his lips, Seth conjured another three shadow demons where the one had been killed. No different from their vanquished brother, these also attacked Carnage, seizing his arms, ripping at his wings, gorging his eyes and generally doing anything they could to distract him so the cyborg could go for a killing blow.
