Riots overwhealm the capital city of SilentScope as people begin massive protests over the new tax cut policy the SilentScopian government has started.
The crisis all started when the government of SilentScope, the Union of Police Stations, passed a tax cut to the nation's poor and middle class, due to an economic recession looming all over NS. "With the rise of anti-free traders, we realize that we need to do our best to put the money into the hands of our citizens."
This led to a massive reaction by the nation's poor and middle class, who trust the government immensly, and believes that a tax cut would severly decrease the nation's reveunes, not allowing it to run effective government programs such as education and health care. The tax cut would essentially destroy the government, say some socialists.
The protests are led by a colation of Socialist groups who opposed the Union of Police Stations and call for SilentScope to restore to Communism. One of the radical groups, The Alliance For the Savaltion of Taxes, calls for taxes to be raised to 100%, in order to better support the government.
"YES TO TAXES! NO TO MONEY!" yell the peaceful protesters, who gathered across from SilentScope to protest the economic stimulus package, and who mailed in money to the government to counter the tax cut. However, when police officers arrived to 'persuade' the protesters to spend money, the protests quickly turned riot.
Currently, 10 people are dead in the riots. The Silentscopian government calls for no international intervention in the crisis, and stated that they would handle it, altough they do desire economic aid to help rebuild after the riots. "We will adminster the tax cut," says a statement. "The government knows some radical elements disagree, but we believe that the people know how to handle their money. They will receive the tax cut, and they will spend it, wheter they like it or not."
