Formed in the dark ages by refugges fleeing the saxon invasion of Britain (hence the anglo). Located in the region of Antonian, on one of the larger islands, though a nearby chain of smaller islands is under their control.
The Constitutional Monarchy of Anglo-Arrius is a small, pleasant nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its quiet, industrious population of 9 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The large government is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Religion & Spirituality are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 32%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small private sector is dominated by the Woodchip Exports industry.
Punitive tariffs protect local industry, the government's religious works are headed by a New Age guru, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, and high-income earners pay a 100% tax rate. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force. Anglo-Arrius's national animal is the neoraptor and its currency is the pound.
