1. Background
The Empire of Pro Patria Puritania is a massive, safe nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service.
Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.343 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator,
who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
The Empire of Pro Patria Puritania is a monarchy, led by Emperor Julius II, Grand Marshal Gerhard Repke and various ministers.
Slavery is commonly used and accepted as punishment.
2. Emperor Julius II
The empire is led by Emperor Julius II (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/Personal_Antichrist/emperor.jpg), aged 41 (Born 14th Jan. 1967).
He is tall (190cm), weighs 83kg, is bald by choice and pale. He is usually seen wearing traditional imperial robes and lives in the Imperial Palace in Neu Berlin.
He is often seen reading in the palace's many beautiful gardens. He has a daughter, named Dora, aged 19, who will one day inherit her father's throne - and a wife whose position is insignificant; she is merely the mother of the next monarch.
His goal is to ensure the continued survival of his empire, which his ancestors founded 1000 years ago, and its way of life. Julius has no particular political stance, but hates communism and has banned all left-wing movements.
He has started several welfare programs to help the sick and poor, though and will continue those programs until his death. As the Pro Patria Puritanian emperor, he has unlimited power within the empire.
He also has 3 advisors, the most notable one being the Claudia zu Gernstein, 27. His face can be seen on the 1,000 Reichsmark notes.
3. Government
The empire is ultimately led the the emperor, but has a senate located in the capital, Neu Berlin. It has members from all of the 160 provinces.
The senate prepares propositions which are forwarded to the emperor, which he will either accept or decline. Each province is ruled by a governor chosen by the emperor. Various ministries work in close co-operation
with the senate and the emperor.

The empire has no official foreign policy. The minister of foreign affairs, Johann Zarkosy, is responsible for most matters concerning other countries.
Recently the empire has taken part in civil wars in other countries, in almost all cases supporting the legal goverment. The emperor rarely goes on a state visit as they are usually handled by his advisor, Claudia zu Gerstein or the minister of foreing affairs, Johann Zarkosy.
5. Demographics
78% of the empire's population is of German origin. As a result, most of the aristocratic families and other wealthy landowners are German. Minorities: Russian (12%), Finnish (4%), Japanese (3%) French (2%) and other (1%)
All major minorities (Russians, Finns and Japanese) have full language recognition, with government services provided in their respective languages.
97% of the empire's population are members of the Cult of Apophis (as well as the other major deities, see Religion). 3% are Christians, although Christianity is seen as heresy by most people and doesn't have legal status. Although the vast majority of the population is a member of the Cult of Apophis, many don't practise the religion and its rites in any way.

The senate composes laws, which are fowarded to the emperor. He then either declines it, alters it or accepts it as it is. If the emperor declines a law, the senate has a right to alter it and bring it to the emperor for a 2nd time.
If the law isn't accepted, the senate is forced to give up on it. Zero-tolerance is enforced on almost every crime more sever than burglary. The most common punishment is a lifetime of slavery, althought executions aren't uncommon either.
Courts are divided into two main branches, civil and military. Law is enforced by the imperial guard, which is also responsible for maintaining slavery and prisons.

The Imperial Guard serves as the police force of the empire. It isn't a part of the military, but has comparable equipment and command structure. The Imperial Guard maintains slavery with an iron fist, violently crushing any attempt at rebellion. The Imperial Guard has around 1,000,000 men in its service.
The commander of the Imperial Guard is surprisingly a woman, Charlotte Braun, ranked as marshal.

As usual, the military is divided into three main branches - Army, Navy and Airforce. Some 2,000,000 men are on active duty, and some 100 million in reserve. The empire has several 100 megaton nuclear warheads, the first one and most famous being 'the Black Sun',
as well as dozens of 50 megaton warheads. Chemical weapons are produced and stockpiled on a massive scale. Radiological weapons have also been used or are planned to be used in current and future conflicts. There have been rumors about use of biological weapons, such as anthrax but these rumors have not been confirmed.
The Praetorian Guard
The Praetorian Guard serves as the elite combat force of the Imperial Armed Forces as well as palace guards. These men are chosen and trained from the age of 10 and are completely loyal to the emperor and almost completely immune to enemy propaganda. The Praetorian Guard has some 750,000 members, 100,000 of whom are on active duty.
9. Culture and Religion
Culture
Culture is highly western, mostly influenced by the 3rd Reich and Mussolini's Italy. The people are highly patriotic, but not xenophobic. Artists are relatively free to express themselves as they please. The most popular sport is soccer, and many major cities have at least 3 teams in the national league.
Religion
Although the empire has adapted a western culture, religion revolves around ancient Egyptian deities, Apophis being the most important one. Other deities, such as Osiris and Khonsu play major roles as well. Aditionally, there is a personality cult revolving around the emperor.
The religious leader is Julia Hofmann, High Priestess of Apophis. She is also the commander of the Serpent Guard, a military organisation consisting of religious fanatics with training similiar to the Praetorian Guard.
