A New FT Nation for Belkaros (OOC)

Belkaros

I have been wanting to do some FT stuff for quite some time, but am rather unsure as to how to go about it. My nation is PMT, but I wold also like to play in FT. Should I start a new nation for this, or is it acceptable to use one nation for both PMT and FT?

I am also curious about what kind of technology is appropriate. I want to use ships from Star War's Galactic Empire, but mobile suits from Gundam 0083's Principality of Zeon/Neo Zeon. I think this would be a good blend for intership combat, and the lack of any warp or teleport systems and the reliance on supply craft would compensate for this.

Any advice is welcome, and look foreward to seeing the Exoterran Imperium of Belkaros (or something to that effect) soon.

If you want, you could have a PMT Planet and create a First Contract thread with an FT nation. That way, your PMT planet could be upgraded to FT with the help of said FT nation.

A lot of people use the same nation for both FT and MT, either by claiming that the FT nation is the futuristic version of their MT nation, or simply by using a completely different culture. Just make sure you specify which timeframe you're playing in when you post!

A lot of people also use Star Wars ships too. I'll leave it up to you to decide if that's a good thing or not.

Ok, so I will keep Belkaros as both PMT and FT, but is it taboo to mix fictional forces? Also, where do I find tactical readouts for SW ships?

I think it's a completely ridiculous thing to do, but lots of people do it, so yes, you can do that.

Well, here's the thing. You can mix ships, but its hard to make it look good. Commonly, that is known as bastardizing tech. However, some people like Amazonian Beasts does it very well. What I suggest is making your own ships, maybe finding different pictures, and have them fulfill the same roles as the SW and Gundams. Basically, take the same roles, but add your own tech and ships, so at least you don't look so blatant.

It's up to you, however. I am willing to help, just send a TG with questions.

You can do it, but usually a PMT nation will find itself at a disadvantage when against other FT nations

As for ships, use a programme like DOGA to make your own. They look alright and you can design a ship unique to your race: Like these

No, he's saying he will have an FT incarnation, Alversia.

Meaning a PMT nation and a completely different FT nation?

Basically, as he went off of what Vescopa said.
