Organize Your Navy!

Do you have a massive navy, filled with dozens of carriers, subs, cruisers, maybe a battleship or two? Tired of simply listing out a whole string of numbers and ships? I can help you to organize your fleet into an effective, realistic, fighting force! Some of the benefits are:
1. Being able to keep track of all your ships
2. Knowing what forces you've deployed

Before:

Admiral Smith lead his ships into the bay. His fleet was made up of 20 carriers, 30 destroyers, 10 cruisers, 40 submarines, etc.

After:

Admiral Smith lead tht 3rd Battle Group into the bay. his forces took up a position around the enemy fleet...

See the difference? Simply put a hyperlink to your fleet listing in the words '3rd Fleet'. Other players will be impressed!

Ready to start? Simply give me a list with the following items:
1. Number of each class of ship in your navy
2. The type of navy you want. Ex, carrier battle groups, anti-surface, submarine fleet, etc.
3. Unless requested otherwise, I will use the standard US Navy Hull numbering system: SSN for attack subs, DDG missile destroyers, etc.
4. For non-RealLife ships, please provide info (or link to) so I can classify them properly.
5. Any other special requests or info I might need.

I will take in requests the order they are posted. Please note: I use Notepad .txt files. If this is a problem, lwt me know. When completed, I will TeleGram you so you can send me an e-mail where I can send the text files. Please, no e-mails on this thread!

Your the man I've been looking for! I am excellent for all other forms of military organisation, except the Navy! Here are the details you'll want, for no less than 3 factions:

Colonial Union
- Moderate Defensive: no need for carriers since it only operates within territorial waters. Emphasis on missile ships.

Communist
- Small transport-orientated: carriers a must, as are smaller ships. Emphasis on gunships.

Democratic Protectorate
- Small, restricted force: Only allowed for defensive purposes. Carrier-based. Mixed missiles and guns.

Can you use RL Navy ships, since I have absolutely no clue when it comes to the class names, only the class types. So, pluck a few modern ones out, and perhaps 'elaborate'.

Oi, I could use some help organizing my navy.

It's defensive mostly, with an emphasis on carriers (and therefore, lots of planes) due to my doctrine stating that "a ship costs 600 billion to be built, and it can be sunk in a blink, a plane, on the other side, costs 22 millions and can sink a ship in a blink."

Therefore, the fleet is small, with big carriers, some battleships and SDs, and a large number of escorts.

Also, I'd need to buy more subs... Not to mention I should retire some of the older Aequatian ships.

Delkor, please replace the Magna Casa Class Ballistic-Missile Submarine and Blowpipe Class Attack Submarine in my Navy list (and thus your organization) with as many Avenger Class Attack Submarine (SSN) (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10957691&postcount=305) and Phantom Class Hydrogen-Cell Hunter-Killer Submarine (SSHK) (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11052319&postcount=365) as you need, as I bought DPRs for them.

OOC: I am looking to actually develop my naval forces from just an ad hoc collection of what I’ve bought from time to time and some RL naval equipment to something fully capable of defending my Empire and carrying out other necessary matters on the seas. I did such a thing in the past, when I had no naval development to speak of, but, being rather n00bish at the time, I went about it in the wrong manner, and now I seek to correct this.

My current list of ships (not entirely up to date, but sufficient) is as follows:

Obviously, I would prefer to use as much of my current navy as a basis as possible. I would also prefer to have a relatively simplified system with similar enough systems and equipment for everything to be compatible with minimal adjustment.

Simplicity and compatibility are important to my military, and my navy should be no exception.

For maintenance and updating, I plan to spend 30% of my national military budget on my navy (according to my custom division of my budget, that is 18.3% of my national budget, plus 30% of whatever tribute/gifts/extraordinary income I may receive), though I would be willing to go well over that for initial purchases.

Specifically, I am looking for a proper naval organization/layout and suggestions for the ships to fill these roles. Where I could purchase those that are unique to NS would also be helpful, and I have no problem with you shamelessly playing up your own storefront’s product so long as said product lives up to my needs.

I actually got some useful conceptual help there. But, of course, if you're offering . . .
