Turka-Sir Expresses Wishes for Nuclear Technology

President Hadith Abu Dawud has issued a statement to the international press that the country is finally ready to step away from coal and oil-dependent fuel sources and step into the new phase of the country's growth. Sites are being surveyed to select a suitable area for construction of a new nuclear reactor. However, what the country's scientists lack is the technology and the skills required in order to construct and maintain such a facility. That is why a message to other countries asking them to aid them in their goal for a nuclear Turka-Sir has been sent out to foreign leaders.

"This is all very exciting," comments a senator after leaving the announcement "I can already smell the cleaner air already. Of course, there are some countries who are wary of Turka-Sir possesing nuclear technology. An understandable caution, I'm sure, given our past. But we have stepped out from that shadow and I can assure you that we have no goals in creating nuclear-based weaponry."

Citizens have been asked about what they think about this announcement, and mixed feelings have been bouncing around like agitated atoms.

"I for one think this is a dark road our country will be taking." expresses one concerned citizen, Kalif Abdawar "For one, hasn't anyone discussed about the risks of a meltdown? Remember those other regions where nuclear disaster lay waste to acres of land? What about the potential terrorist threat on our facilities? What if our government suddenly decides to change its mind on the no nuclear weapon policy? I don't like this one bit."

Of course, other citizens believe that this is a step forward in creating a more energy-efficient Turka-Sir. No word from other leaders have been recieved yet, but it is only a matter of time before someone reaches out to them.

As a result of your support for the former Transitional Council of Mhoudia and their anti-christian Genocidal antics, Zanski has identified a cassus belli in your search for nuclear technology, and hope you step down.

President Hadith Abu Dawud,

Barronian Anbaric Works Group is a multi-national utilities company, also manufacturing our own power plant equipment.

It has come to our attention that you wish to pursue nuclear power generation - we may be able to help. Two options are available to you - direct purchases through our International Sales department, or investment by Barronian Anbaric Group through our Barronian Power International division.

However, as your nation has been shown to be rather, shall we say, unsubtle, for want of a better word, with it's military in the past, we must insist on one condition. Barronian Anbaric is a publicly-owned company; that is to say, our board is entirely government-sanctioned and regulated. In order to prevent loss to our company and nation, we must insist on being allowed to post observers in any and all power stations owned by or bought from Barronian Anbaric Group.

Any unexpected or unauthorised use or commandeering of nuclear fuel destined for or on, waste destined from, Barronian Anbaric Group stations will be met with due sanctions - something we do not wish, as a peace-loving nation.

In return, Barronian Anbaric Group and subsidiary companies will pledge not to use the stations as a political tool - if this should be the case, then the reigning Turka-Sir government retains the right to seize control of the offending station(s).

Otherwise, we wish you a nice day, and look forward to your response.

Yours,

From: The Federation of Atreidond Islands, Foreign Affairs Department

Although it is against the Federation's law to sell nuclear material or technology of any kind, we are interested in selling both automated (Security drones) and conventional security systems (T-90 tanks). Please send a telegram if you wish to act upon this offer.

To President Dawud of the Sultanate of Turka-sir,

Such is life in the world of global diplomacy, with the actions of previous regimes irrevocably staining a reformed nation's flag. Truly it is a sad state of affairs when a man interested in improving the welfare of his citizens by providing them with a clean, efficient and safe form of power production receives nothing but a flat refusal from the world. That said, when it's you asking for the uranium, certain questions have to be asked. One might be "And your various human rights violations have nothing to do with this because?" Another could be "Do you think we're stupid?" The day you gain access to nuclear material is the day I drink a bottle of tabasco sauce and serve up my own excrement for the Brother-General to dine upon.

Yours without a scrap of sincerity,
Brother-Captain Stian Ellingsen

Additional: Please ignore the first portion of this message, as that was intended to be nothing more than a smokescreen. Our sentiments are nearly the polar opposite of the rest of the world and, while we don't particularly trust you, we're willing to supply you with what you need. Although our environmental record is far from good, we do nonetheless recognise the usefulness of renewable power sources; as a result, our supply of uranium is now only used in the few nuclear stations that serve as emergency backups. We would be happy to supply you with nuclear fuel, although for the construction of the stations themselves, you would need to find another contractor.

Yours, with sincerity this time,
Brother-Captain Stian Ellingsen

In response to that, we have an underwater uranium deposit just outside my nation's territorial water boundary, and if you want it, we'll loan you(Turka-Sir) the mining equipment, listed below.

Mining Equipment:
-1 mining ship, named the SS Magnet, holds 55,000 tons of uranium ore, radiation shielding, etc.
-5 mining drones, Rockworm-class
-2 ore carrier drones, PelicanHazMat-class
-1 repair drone

Please provide your own crew (we'll train), and feel free to reverse-engineer.

We thank you for this generous offer and accept these terms. However, we do ask that we recieve a minimum of a day's notice before an inspection is to occur. This is to ensure that everything will be safe and ready to be inspected for the convenience of the observers.

We would also like to openly thank those nations who are opening up their uranium deposits to us. We will enter talks for the rights to deposits, as well as shipping and handling of the sensitive cargo.

Mr. Dawud,

Pale Rider Arms would be very interested in helping your nation reach it's goal of nuclear power. Indeed, through our services, nearly ninety percent of the Otagian citizenry draws their electricity from nuclear sources. With our aid, we believe that your country could likewise prosper.

However, Pale Rider Arms cannot, due to Otagian law, export nuclear materials or reactor technology to foreign entities. Therefore, we propose that our company be granted extraterritoriality rights within the nation of Turka-Sir. We will then construct and operate any and all facilities ourselves, exporting the power from PRA sovereign territory at a reasonable profit margin.

If you find this agreement acceptable, we will be able to commence construction within a month, using local labor forces. If you have any questions or requested changes in the agreement, please contact me at your leisure.

Yours,
Daniel Quetzal
CEO of Pale Rider Arms
