Grimmeberg, City-Republic of Grimmeberg

The people of the industrial port and captial city of Grimmeberg have declared themselves independent of any outside authority.
Chancellor Gerd Becker made a public statement today after being declared the winner of the first elections for Chancellor in the nation.
"I am glad that I now have the chance to shape this great people, and I hope we can live in harmony with our neighbors," he said on a platform near the harbor in Grimmeberg, which looks out into the North Sea. He continued to say "If anyone has an issue with this, they can go [censored for appropriateness] themselves. If they don't have an issue with this, we look foward to many mutally profitable agreements with them and all our other neighbors."
Those are fighting words for a nation consisting of only a single major city on an artificial island, but with a population of 578 million jammed into that small area. Needless to say, there are overcrowding problems.

We are glad to here that you are finally free from foreign oppression. We also see your plight of over population, and the problems it can, and most likely will, cause. With your limited land resources, we have assumed that you have a lack of food due to a lack of land on which to grow, or raise cattle, and as such we would be willing to work out a trade agreement to give you food, in exchange for anything you have to offer. We also have many well trained architects who could assist you in building up, to provide you with more room for your growing population. With your limited space, it is the best idea, unless you plan on going out, and claiming colonies, in some far off part of the world, but that isn't a good idea unless you have a large army, but I'm getting ahead of my self, you probably have your own plans for your over-crowding problems. We would be willing to help, and if you tell us what these plans are, we could assist you with the feasibility of each one.
