I'm looking for some interest in a small RP I'm putting together. Here's the backstory:

Tolvan is located in the South Pacific (it's a massive island chain spread over the area where Australia and New Zealand are in RL) because of its dispersion and the fact it controls the Culver Islands (small island chain in waters near Antartica) Tolvan's Economic Exclusion Zone (EEZ - 200 nautical miles from land in every direction) covers most of the Southern Sea. The Southern Sea contains some of the world's largest oil deposits as well as very fertile fishing/whaling grounds and is vital to the Tolvanic economy.

The RP is based around my annexing a small island on the edge of the Southern Sea in an area outside my EEZ. Taking the island allows me to gain exclusive access to the area's resources.

What I need is a nation to control the island prior to my annexation. Afterwards a small skirmish and some diplomatic wrangling will occur. Bear in mind this is not meant to be WWIII, so no massive fleet battles will happen.

My NS Nation Kansiov will however not take part as my Nation is in a Civil War. Ok could you give details about the Island, Climate, Population, Economy etc. Then either you or me can post a Military Orbat of the Island Nation.

The setting is the island of Kulick. Basically it's a small island (about 250 sq. km) with a population of just a few thousand. Most of the people will be fishermen and support staff for their boats. In terms of the climate it's close to Antarctica, so it will be below freezing almost year round and subject to intense winter storms. The economy is entirely dependent on fishing. The locals buy the fish and provide the fishing fleet with supplies and services.

The fishermen can be from any nation, including Kanisov (if anyone else wants to RP a fishing boat on the island sign up in this thread).

In terms of a military there isn't one really. The locals maintain small security force that serves as both a police force and a militia. There's also a small Coast Guard with a few light cutters and some SAR helos and patrol planes. Of course the fishermen may be lightly armed (fishing trawlers packing 5 inch guns and anti-ship missiles will be ignored) but that's up to the person RPing them.

Any objections to this set up?

The Queen Anne is a small sized boat but can carry up to forty people. Cpt.Andrew Tyler and his crew of thirty-four fish off the coasts every year and they make a huge profit after selling the fish to local markets on the island.
