It had been several days - a little over a week - since the protests had first begun. Since then, relations deteriorated, and a battlecruiser now lay stricken in a harbor.

Dr. Hodz - though not initially angered by the protests - was not amused. Preliminary investigations showed that the sabotage of the battlecruiser was terrorism. Dr. Hodz was not about to let the terrorists go unpunished. Nor was the populus.

Whether they had done it or not, the nations of Yanitaria and Stoklmolvi, through their continual behavior, had made themselves the targets. They were also communist, meaning that they were enemies of the Empire.

The people had an objective in mind, one that was shared by the government - eliminate communism and occupy Yanitaria and Stoklomolvi.

That was what they were going to do. Hopefully they would not be alone.

Official Declaration of War

It is hereby declared that a state of war now exists between the Autocratic Federated Empire of Akimonad and the rogue states of Yanitaria and Stoklomolvi.

The continual defiance and aggression of these rogue states has led to the deaths the entire crew of the AMS Leicester, save one.

No one provokes us unpunished.

Operation: Swift Vengeance
After the declaration was released, the fleets began preparing to embark. Marines piled into ships, and cranes lifted tanks into landing ships. All ships were fully stocked with ammunition and supplies. Planes were fueled and readied. The fleets were currently dispersed over several ports, but it would meet up after leaving port and continue thence from Haven and to Europa Atlantica.

The men were not scared. They were not nervous. They were prepared. They would have their revenge. The First and Second Fleets would dispense their justice.

Declaration of War:
The nations of Yanitaria and Stoklomolvi remain a significant and arrogant threat to New Pictavia. As such, the Pictish Parliament under the guidance of the High Council and myself, Consul Gaius Kadesh, have deemed it necessary to follow the Akimonadi into combat and restore stability to the region of Europa Atlantica. No-more will the two NOP states be permitted to disrupt the peaceful equilibrium of the region.

The nation of Orbath cannot and will not allow the enemies boots to set foot in either of our allies territories. You have no reason to seek out war, other than what appears to be blantant imperialism and false accusations or false flag operations. Our allies are not disrupting ''the peaceful equilibrium of the region'' in any way. As such, the nation of Orbath hereby declares war on both the nations of Akimonadi and Nova Pictavia. May you suffer a swift and brutal defeat.

To The People's Republic of Orbath:
I assure you that our accusations are far from false: they are fact. If your apparently ill informed government had conducted the communication necessary with your seemingly useless foreign affairs office and intelligence services, you may have been able to look through the open declarations that have escalated the conflict to this point. Had you done so, you would not have disagreed with my statement regarding the degradation of the region's peaceful equilibrium. The NOP created a power-bloc within the region whose previous political equilibrium was undeniable. Thus, the creation of a pro-founder alliance was fortunate to avoid provoking a second or even third regional alliance in the frantic hope of maintaining each member nation's security. I need not tell you that this would ultimately end in catastrophe.

Again, I must refer to your statement that our actions are unprovoked. The evidence is quite to the contrary; the two NOP states are revered to have strained, somewhat hostile relations with Pictavia. After all, it is undeniable that the NOP was formed to counter the AU, which was previously in development with Pictavia's regional allies. Then, the NOP seeks to politically isolate Pictavia by recruiting the founding four in secret, and latterly by issuing increasingly aggressive attacks against the Silver Imperium. Most recently however, we see the two NOP states expel every Pictish and Imperial citizen, incuding all diplomatic personal, effectively introducing a trade embargo after threatening the execution of every single Binarian still residing within Stoklomolvi's borders. After which, one of Akimonadi's greatest warships is sabotaged and sunk in port, to be denied by Stoklomolvi even before an official investigation into the sinking commences.

Then, we see your nation, Orbath, declare war on a whim, stating that "[...] You have no reason to seek out war". Well, it conclusively appears to me that this is yet another example of the allied bloc of Yanitaria warmongering without just reason. You are the aggressor, my friend, whose declaration of war is unjust.

To the Government of Orbath:

As Parliament convenes to decide the position of the Caelapene Government with regard to the situation unfolding between the Empire of Akimonad and the Communist states of Yanitaria and Stoklomolvi, Caelapene troops are mobilizing across the nation to bolster home defense and prepare for any eventuality—including a Caelapene declaration of war against the aforementioned Communist states. I find the declaration made by Orbath to be troubling in its language. Accusations that the Empire of Akimonad, long-time allies of the Federation of Caelapes, is using false-flag operations to execute a hidden agenda are unwarranted and fantasy. While the Empire of Akimonad is without doubt an imperial nation, the allegation that this situation is a war of greed and power rather than a movement of justice and a fight for the greater good is preposterous. The Akimonadi Government, unlike the government of, for example, the socialist former state of British Londinium, has no need to murder its own citizens or soldiers to prove a point or push an agenda. Any statement to the contrary is an insulting work of fiction.

With that stated, I will submit that I recognize the decision of the Government of Orbath to declare war in response to a declaration against her allies. However, I must request that Orbath stand down. At present, my Progressive Party—an anti-war, change-based party—holds a majority in Parliament. Without a third party declaration of war against Caelapene allies such as Akimonad or Nova Pictavia, it is possible that Parliament will decide to restrict the Caelapene Aeronavy from this battle. Your declaration of war jeopardizes that possibility and greatly increases the chances of a Caelapene entrance. This conflict already pitches four massive nations against each other. The entrance of Orbath would nearly guarantee the reality of a Caelapene entry. In the interests of your people, my people, and the peoples of our allies, I reaffirm my appeal to the People's Republic to stand down and remain neutral in this conflict.

Official Communique

The Commonwealth is neither supprised nor unaware that such an event like this would eventually happen between the states of Akimonad and Nova Pictavia vs. Stocklomolvi and Yanitaria. As such we declare the following:

The Commonwealth of Zoingo is hearby neutral in the conflict
We ask that all trading vessles that are currently in the waters of any of the involved nations to be left alone by opposing factions
We can neither see to prove or deny anything that Stocklomolvi has done, but as for Yanitaria...well....
All overseas banking accounts in Zoingo by any of the countries will remain open for use, though may be frozen upon request
Violation of our neutral rights by either faction will result in a swift and possibly forcefull response
We wish that this could not be done, but for the sake of dispute, we say that "what needs to be disputed, can be dueled out...".

I would like to first point out the flaws to your reasons for war.

An alliance, yes. A group of powerful nations, yes. Any real threat to you or your allies, no. They were not hell bent on the destruction of the region or madmen ready to take it over, the pact, as I see it, was defensive and economic based. Tell that to your seemingly useless foreign affairs office and intelligence services.

So strained relations are a reason for war? A man should beat his wife because they get into an argument? Seems more like an insult to your pride that you can't seem to swallow.

Like what? I haven't seen any attacks carried out as far as I know.

A non violent approach to get their message across. This is called diplomacy. They did not launch bombers or deploy troops, they attempted to resolve it peacefully first.

I'd be first in denying any involvement, seeing as how it would be pinned on NOP regardless of an investigation. In my opinion, the investigation was rather quick. Send us a report, I'm sure its full of holes.

Warmongering, no. When you see my aircraft in your airspace and my fleets along coasts without any reason, this is warmongering. My soldiers come to the aid of my allies, and will DEFEND them. I am not attacking anyone or being aggressive in any way.

Open Communication to Caelapes

You speak to us as though we are a friend, not possible opponents and this I appreciate greatly. Unfortunately though, we will be there in the defense of our allies and nothing more. So long as your allies do not tread on my allies sovereign land, I shall not ever have to do anything. My troops will remain in strictly a defensive role. I would like greatly to send a representative to meet with you and discuss this.

Parliament says "no" to war

Parliament has voted, after days of debate, discussion, and deliberation, to restrict Caelapene involvment in the brewing conflict between Akimonad and so-called Communist threats.

Tensions began rising between Akimonad and Communist nations after the Akimonadi government released a statement outlining the Akimonadi pledge to remove Communism from the world.

After weeks of protest by Akimonadi citizens, Akimonad, a long-time ally of Caelapes, declared war on the Communist states of Yanitaria and Stoklomolvi earlier this week in response to the terrorist bombing of the Akimonadi naval vessel Leicester.

Parliament's majority is held by the Progressive Party, an anti-war party that, with assistance from the Libertarian Party, overwhelmingly voted against mobilizing Caelapene soldiers to assist in the conflict. In a speech Tuesday, Prime Minister Torino referenced other plans to aid Akimonad, including financial contributions and provision of armament.

The United Royal Provinces of Yanitaria would like to discuss a possible end to the hostility through diplomatic means.

We invite the nations of Akimonad, Nova Pictavia, Caelapes, Orbath, and Stoklomolvi to neutral soil to further discuss how we can resolve this conflict quickly and peacefully.

We are open to suggestions as to where such talks would take place, however, we would prefer that it take place in a nation not touched by the bias that so easily corrupts international relations.

The nation of Orbath will gladly attend any diplomatic meeting established in an attempt to prevent bloodshed. We have always wished for peace, however, cannot stand idly by when our allies are threatened. It is our hope that something can be worked out and who knows how many lives could be spared.
