"New Dornalia's Number One Independent News Source!"

Los Angeles, California, Earth SSR--

Today, in a historic announcement sure to echo through Dornalian history, Comrade Premier Robert MacIntyre today announced that he was working with members of his cabinet and the People's Congress to call for a Constitutional Convention.

"The Workers State, for some time, has operated on democratic systems without a formal constitution. This may serve some nations remarkably well. It certainly, up until now, has worked for us. But I and several of our delegates feel that a formal, written Constitution that defines government procedure and the rights of the Workers and Peasants is long overdue," the Comrade Premier said in a press conference in Los Angeles today.

Congressman James Royce, PC-New Wuhan, agrees.

"It's been accepted for a while that the state of affairs in the Workers State is changing. We are no longer a dictatorship, but a democracy. Our People's Congress has acted decisively in the name of the People, ensuring they have a voice to tell those in power, 'the buck stops here.' I agree with the Comrade Premier that its high time we formalized this situation into written reality, so future leaders who try to undo what has been done are reminded of why they cannot. It's time to create a formal, political structure that can stably serve future generations and guarantee their rights."

The Constitutional Convention's electors are in the selection process, and are preparing to meet at an undisclosed location to make the document possible. Critics have charged MacIntyre with attempting to solidify his brand of Dornalian Socialism, derisively dubbed "MacIntyreism," as a state ideology with the new document. However, the Comrade Premier declared simply, "I will ensure this document does not favor one side. End of story."

"On todays story, the People's Republic of New Dornalia has issued a proclamation that it has formally adopted a Constitution and is working to get it ratified to ensure no dictator can come and undo what the Premier has done. It is with the voice of all of GDI that I congratulate the Dornalians on their success and wish the best of luck in getting it ratified. Director Granger has issued a public statement, issuing his support of the move, as well as many thanks in the Dornalian drive to help us in rebuilding and refitting the navy, constructing the FEDBED, and ensuring the completion of the Home Reclamation Act and the colonization of this system.

This is Trisha Kriskov, signing off."

The Constitutional Convention's delegates, today, have entered into seclusion in their top secret area to discuss matters of the New Constitution. No one knows exactly where, though reports of well dressed men and the Comrade Premier entering a rural inn outside of Philadelphia have been reported. Other sightings include Hong Kong, Luxembourgia, Ft. Casimir Pulaski, and others. There is a strong suspicion that body doubles have been used for the Convention's delegates, to keep the exact location of the place secret.....

The Commissariat for Internal Affairs has only stated so far: "Reports of various sightings are amusing, but they are false. We are remaining mum on the subject of where Convention is so they can be allowed to focus on their Great Task. For security reasons we do acknowledge doubles have been used, but we will not say much beyond that."
