We Nomadic Peoples request military support

Lychanthropa
09-02-2008, 22:38
The Nomadic Peoples of Lychanthropa have been subjected to numerous tribal wars in our desolate land. Because of environmental concerns, our key ally, the Vividian Empire, has refused this aid; the Hegemon and Terrican Council both uphold the this decission. We would like military aid from other nations to expel the smaller, warring tribes, intent on holding stationary settlements in our roaming lands. These tribes are bent on our destruction, and do not allow us to roam elsewhere without attacking us. With the only military power on the continent abandoning us, the military support to crush the violent tribes is required for the continuing welfare of Lychanthropa. Consider this a plea to the world...:(

To The Leader of The Nomadic Peoples of Lychanthropa,

Before we go and send military aid, I would like to ask why, who and where. Who are these attackers stopping you from moving as you do in your regular fashion? Second of all why are the people doing this? And most importantly where are you right now as they attack so we may know where to send military aid to?

Hachihyaku has not had a good war in a long time. If you nation is in need of dire aid then our legates are always in need of capital and repute.
If you do except our offer of sending a few legions, talk to the individual legates about it.

The soliditary tribes are occupying the semi-fertile river valleys in the east of our nation, and are our February home. In the past we have rotated occupation of the eastern provinces with them, but they now use long-term agriculture techniques, and refuse to move. They refuse to share the land with us, despite the fact that Lychanthropa can survive independently from them. They attacked our villages in numerous hit-&-run raids. We require 10,000 infantry, and 500 calvary in order to supress these tribes.

Each of our veteran legions consist of 5,000 legionaries plus whatever war engines, the war engines depend on the legate. Many of our legates are "busy" in foreign territory. Hachihyaku is a militaristic republic, many of our legates will be taking part in various other operations but there will also be legions ready for nations willing to pay.

Available legates:

Cassius Junii - Legate of the "Second Alaudae"
Aemalius Magnus - Legate of the "First Borns"
VerCingXaphanix - Legate of the "Grande Horde Of Squirrel Leaders"
Titus Milo - Legate of the "Saiyan Elite"
Labienus Gadditicus - Legate of the "Accipters"
Glabius Romildo - Legate of the "Lyonnith Harbingers"

Choose from the list, all of them are skilled and specialize in there own skill. You will do well to contract one or more of legions. You will be expected to cover the necessary food and water plus legionaries pay and a tithe to the legate(s) in question.

Lychanthropa would like to employ Titus Milo - Legate of the "Saiyan Elite". We have heard of his past accomplishments, and believe that he is qualified to expel the tribes. We are able and willing to meet all your terms, and although we are a nation of swarthy merchants and fiscal businessmen who would like nothing more than to bargain a price. Unfortunatley this crisis does not alot for the time needed to do so. We look forward to working with you.

Sarrowquand would like to dispatch 400 Yellowjacket infantry to set up a small military base within your nation. This base would house medical facilities and bunkhouses to protect any refugees from the war. We could also construct a communications bunker to house your government should the need arise. With so many foreign troops moving through your nation we hope that you would find such defensive measures appealing.

While we Nomadic Peoples would appreciate your aid with our current crisis, we cannot allow the permanent residence of a foreign military in our nation, because our sparse population density would make it too easy for a foreign power to control our territory.

Sulla Aemalia Consul of Hachiyhaku
Krendakov
10-02-2008, 02:43
“Hmm…” sighed Aleksei Ognev, General Secretary of the Krendian Communist Party as he read the document compiled by the Commissariat for External Affairs detailing the situation in Lychanthropa. One group had chosen to finally settle upon one piece of land, whereas the others kept the tradition of nomadic culture alive. However, the sedentary peoples did not want the nomadic ones staying on their lands, whilst the nomads hated the sedentary peoples for refusing to let them stay on land that they had stayed on for thousands of years, and for deviating with tradition.

Aleksei shook his head as he took a drink of coffee. There was probably little real animosity between the common men: probably the rulers just stirring up difficulties in order to keep the masses repressed. There was no real reason that the people should become sedentary if the wanted, and there was no real reason to prevent the nomads from continuing. Indeed, both groups could provide important products for one another. In such a land, there was probably little natural vegetation, and so the sedentary people could grow crops that would improve the diet of the nomads: then the nomads could graze animals upon the vast areas of land – which would be required in such an environment for livestock rearing – and the animals would improve the diet of the sedentary people.

It seemed that both sides could gain from this situation, but the bourgeois of these societies, like the bourgeois of all societies, sought to create conflict between working men that, should they work together, could make for themselves a better life. People should not have to deal with such oppression from their fellow humans, it was not morally right; it was the place of the Socialist Republic of Krendakov to do something about it. No-more should the people of Lychanthropa fight amongst themselves and perpetuate their bourgeoisie’s excesses. That time would be at an end.

Grabbing the phone that sat upon his desk, Aleksei quickly stabbed out the extension for the Chief Commissar, one Kazimir Gorchakov. As the phone rang, he furrowed his brows which caused his large, grey eyebrows, already close together, to draw so much closer to one another that they almost appeared to touch. He heard the click at the other end, and a familiar voice, gruff for being interrupted at something, likely a good smoke on his cigar.

“Chief Commissar Gorchakov here.” Barked Gorchakov in a surly voice.

“Kazimir, it’s Aleksei here.”

“Oh,” Kazimir’s tone had instantly changed, it did not do to be surly with the General Secretary, “what can I do for you, Comrade?”

“Kazimir, I need you to prepare a motion for today’s meeting of the Council of Commissars, we need to liberate Lychanthropa.”

“Yes, very good, I will get at it immediately.” Kazimir paused for a moment, and Aleksei could hear the scribbling of a writing implement in the background. “And should I ask Karina and Zotkin to look into it?” Karina Maksimova and Zotkin Mamedov were the Commissars for Foreign relations and Defence respectively.

“No, I should not think that that will be necessary. It should not be a large mobilisation, and the country is rather insignificant. It’s unlikely to escalate into a huge conflict with dire international repercussions.” Aleksei assured Kazimir.

“Right, okay.” Kazimir stalled as he scribbled upon his notepad once more. “And is that all, Comrade?”

“Yes, Kazimir, that is all. Talk to you soon.”

“If this sort of thing is what you tell me every time we talk, I hope it’s a bit longer!” Joked Kazimir before continuing, “Yes, Aleksei, I hope to speak to you again soon: although perhaps on more pleasant matters?”

Aleksei laughed into the phone. “Yes, Kazimir, perhaps we will.” He said, and then hung up.

OOC: Hope it’s okay doing this sort of intervention. I’m not going to do any “Z0MG! I delployz 1 millionz soldier to j00!” stuff. Just wanting to get some RPing done. I’m guessing you’re MT (from looking at other threads). If you’re not, and you don’t want me involved, just say.

Greetings to the people of Lycanthropa, we have heard your plea, and agree to send up to five thousand samurai, led by Miasha, one of our most skilled captains. We apologise, but we cannot send cavalry, as our landscape does not promote the raising of horses. Of course, this is all if you wish it, if you decide to listen to Hachiyaku, and do not wish any help but theirs, we quite understand.

With peace and honour, Kinora Sokoiya

OOC: If you accept, I'll leave what you do with the men mostly to yourself, as I can't get on that much. I will RP when able of course.

To The Leader of The Nomadic Peoples of Lychanthropa,

Thank you for replying to our question, 20,000 of the finest Grestonian Infantry soldiers, accompanied by 400 Jaguar Tanks will come and aid you in fending them off. Better yet, hence the fighting has stopped they will help establish infastructure and a permanent land for a home. 100 of the Jaguar tanks will be leased to you for protection and 1,000 Infantry Units will stay in the region until all of the threats are eliminated.

President and Brigader John Batther

To the Leaders of Stoklomolvi, Hachihyaku, Krendakov, Durium, and Mereshka,

Being that we were the first to promise aid to The Nomadic People of Lychanthropa, we are going to play the Orbath position in this. In Cripistan they were there to aid and set up infastructure and protect from the other nations sending troops. We are doing the same thing here. Please do not send you troops, as this will make their land war torn and 20,000 Grestonians will be enough to help them. If you insist on sending them limit them to 500 infantry so that our foreign prescence doesn't influence or outnumber the Lychanthropian population.

OOC: don't like to start the OOC rambling, but thought it might be worth clarifying a few points. First, Krendakov has no official position yet, we are merely at the planning stage of intervention. Second, we will be opposed to all established forces when we do deploy, as we are trying to establish a Krendian puppet regime. That is all, thank you.

As I stated in an earlier message you support is not needed and shall not be sent. Since our relations with you haven't been good so far, my troops won't have any trouble shooting you down. Call them off, way to many troops are being sent in to aid. He said himself that they would only need 10,000 infantry and 500 calvary, meaning horses, I sent 20,000 infantry and 400 tanks, while other people are still sending more. Lycanthropa has decided that it can no longer spare more time, and to immediatley employ the Legate of Titus Milo of Hachihyaku. He has requested that he be the only foreign militrary presence in Lychanthropa, and we wish to honor his request. We would like all other nations willing to provide military aid to prepare their forces for deployment if the seven month contract with Milo we have made is not enough to crush the barbarians. The amount of military forces in our country shall not exceed the numbers set by the Hachihyaku Theocracy. If at any time, another foreign military enters our country, Milo's forces are permitted to defend us from such force, to prevent us from becoming a puppet nation. Ally countries with no such intention have been given permission by the Hegemon (leader of the TERRICA continents) to establish temporary bases outside our borders to prevent unwanted military entry. No maps will be provided to any other military, for the locations of our resources and farmlands are a closely guarded secret.

IN: The emotionally blank Lychanthropans are flattered at the number of nations willing to provide aid, but becuase we are proud of our lack of dependence on other nations, we only desire a single power under a seven month contract (we prefer contracts to treaties). If the Hachihyaku forces do not enter Lychanthropa within two weeks, then our contract will be void, and we will open negotiation with Greston and others.

Lychanthropa: I don't suppose the settled tribes would be looking for assitance of any kind?

I ask as though a past RP Crookfur does happen to have under its control a land where a simialr situation to this developed. The Crookfur government only intervened because the nomadic hill tribes were Chaos/deamon worshippers (turned out the upper echelons of the "city people" were too but they got quietly disposed of) so would be unlikely to pay any attention to events here but certain disaffected "Tribali" city people might be looking to further the cuase of those they see as being in a simialr situation i.e. ncie decent settled people beign threatened by nasty smelly horse botherers.

So in short if the settled tribes were lookign for assitance they might not be able to get hold of large number sof men but certainly would be able to get their ahnds on top of the line equipment through various dodgy channels.

We apologize to all players who are involved, but Lycanthropa must now choose between Hachihyaku and Greston forces. The former has a military record that we respect and revere, while the latter has shown what seems like genuine willingness to keep others out and leave when they are no longer needed. We desire a quick solution above all else, and we have already formed a contract with Hachihyaku. Milo will lead the forces in Lychanthropa, but we will negotiate with Greston to put pressure on Hachihyaku to remove their forces when we ask them to. Lychanthropam diplomats (swarthy and sly as usual) believe that using the nations against each other by encouraging the actions that they wish to exercise will result in the best results for Lychanthropa.

From the desk of Right Honourable Consul Sulla Aemalia,

Lychanthropa has requested military aid, and due to the ancient laws of Hachihyaku our Legates are allowed to apply in the Senate to mobilize there legion. Hachihyaku gave Lychanthropa a list of available legates who could be sent to Lychanthropa.
I'm sorry that you are threatening our great republic and Consul, but it was our Legates choice to aid Lychanthropa and due to the ancient laws he is entitled to do so if a Legate so wishes. The senate of Consul could recall him but we wish not to violate the right of Titus Milo.
It is a shame that you appear to wish to war, but that can be aided. Hachihyaku is also planning military action and you could help us, free of charge if you so want to. Provided you do not jeopardise our plans.
