On the morning of March 22nd, 476 of the Meran Calander, an unknown fleet jumped into the Raxian Star System and proceeded to slaughter the cluster of colonies known as Gratia 9. This small group of space colonies was home to asteroid miners and freight crews, having virtually no defence and well within Zalverine space, they posed no threat to any nation.
We regret to inform the public that up to 45,000 have lost their lives. Among the victims, entire families and clans were wiped out.
Within the forty minutes of first recieving reports of an attack on Gratia 9, to the Third Squadron's arrival, automated messages from more than a dozen freight ships and mining vessels were recieved at Fleet Headquarters with the simple words "Contact Lost". By the time of the Third Squadron's arrival, the debris field of the Gratia 9 colonies and the hulks of 19 ships were all that remained. Not one innocent soul had been spared.
At current, the Zalverine Space Forces have been put on full alert. While our military is investagating this horrendous attack, we have recieved reports from the Investagation Team that the quickness of the attack, and the lack of looted materials and equipment, have convinced us that this was not a pirate attack against our borders, but a full declaration of war.
While we mourn our lost, let those who had a hand in this attack be warned, we shall not sleep until you have paid dearly for what you've done.
