War Protests Rock Shazbotdom

_____Today major war protests rocked the Shazbotdom Empire. These protests were within several of the Cities of Shazbotdom, including Shaz City, Berwin, Joliet, Thompson, Livingston and Romeoville. The Shazbotdom National Police moved in to watch the situation unfold and kept the protesters out of many major areas, including the Imperial Parliament Building, which is being renovated for the upcoming reformation of the Shazbotdom Imperial Parliament, the main campus of Shazbotdom University in Romeoville, and the Embasy District in Shaz City.

_____In a press conference, the Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kennith G. Terrance, announced that there is no sign of the Shazbotdom Empire backing down from the fight. He went on to say, “the tyrannical government of Eurasian Socialist Republic only wishes war because of one message that fell into the hands of operatives of the Shazbotdom Ministry of the Military’s Espionage division.” This startled the public after the press conference, causing mass protests for the Government of the Eurasian Socialist Republic to stop their madness.

_____The protests in Shaz City were headed by Stephanie Edgerson, founder of the Shaz Socialist Initiative. In her speech, she “called for the immediate cessation of hostilities between the Shazbotdom Empire and the Eurasian Socialist Republic.” She also stated “The leadership of the Eurasian Socialist Republic to recognize that all nations are entitled to their own form of government. The Progressive Socialist government that has been set up in the Shazbotdom Empire is a sovereign form of government and it is immoral to force them to change the form of government that they have.”

_____One of the demonstrators also held a sign that said, ‘ESR Leave Us Alone’ while others had signs that went on to say, “Make peace not war”, “Socialism Forever”, and “Communist Dictatorship’s are Immoral”.

_____There is a great deal of speculation as to what the Eurasian Socialist Republic will do in the coming days, and possibly weeks, but it is known that the entirety of the Shazbotdom Military is on high aleart and ready for whatever comes our way.

I would like to express Eureka Islands support for your actions. However, we cannot assist you, we are already involved in 2 conflicts and our resources are stretched to the limit. Good luck my friend.

Embassy of the Republic of Vetalia

Effective immediately, the Ministry of State has hereby issued a travel advisory in Shazbotdom for all Vetalian citizens currently in the country or planning to travel there in the near future. There is significant concern that the potential for military activity and civil unrest is high enough to pose a threat to personal safety for foreign travelers. As a result, we encourage all Vetalian citizens to reconsider travel to Shazbotdom

Vetalian citizens already in Shazbotdom can visit the central embassy in Shaz City or our consulates in other major cities to obtain additional information regarding this advisory and the potential for future violence.

This is me pritty much just killing time until ESR shows up to post in the War Thread or the OOC Thread. Anyone can post any sort of reaction that they wish. I may update this thread with more newspaper articles if I get bored enough and have the time.

Protests Die Down

_____With a release from the Shazbotdom Imperial Government about renewed peace levels in the Empire, Peace Protests have died down drastically. With only 1 reported in the past few days, life seems to be returning to normal. In the Official Joint Press Release from the Office of the Supreme Emperor and the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, it stated that "The Eurasian Socialist Rep hasn't said anything about war in the weeks, so we are issuting an order to the Marine Corps and the Imperial Navy to stand back down to peace time levels."

_____With this drop in the wartime readiness of the Shazbotdom Military, people are going back about their daily lives as if nothing ever happened. In a random call to a civilian of the Shazbotdom Empire, they told this reporter that "What happened between Our Government (The Shazbotdom Empire) And the government of Eruasian Socialist Rep was unfortunate, it was nothing to go to war over. Hopefully the Eurasian Socialist Rep government sees the error of their ways and will drop the issue."

_____Shazbotdom University in Romeoville, which was the staging ground for the largest student protest in the Empire, saw classes return to normal. Political Science Professor James D. Heckleboth told us "things like this occur constantly in the world. Although most of the time it's not to the extreme that we saw in this case, but noticies of condemnation get thrown around on a daily basis between governments.

_____With the passing of this problem, the Office of the Supreme Emperor has turned it's attention to more pressing matters. One of which is the reformation of the Shazbotdom Imperial Parliament. The vote for the reformation is due to occur in the next 48 hours. If it passes, elections are to be held within the next 6 months.
