New High Mobility Vehicle Hits the Market

Journal of International Armed Forces

MecániCas, part of Sistemas Terrestres Segovia Land Systems, recently announced the release of the High Mobility Tactical Armored Truck (HIM-TAC) for the international market. Locally, the vehicle is known as the Tiznao-10 Vehículo de Alta Movilidad (VAM) and nine hundred have been acquired by the Castillian Ejército de Tierra, with an undisclosed number of further vehicles procured for the Ejército del Aire and the Armada Real. The Macabee Fuermak, or armed forces, has declared that they will acquire over one hundred thousand for the Ejermacht, ground army, alone. This number may rise by at least another fifty thousand if orders are established for the Laerihans, air force, and the Kriermada, navy. MecániCas, and the export consortium of STS Land Systems, has attempted to design the vehicle to cater to the international market. STS Land Systems is hoping that the HIM-TAC markets their products by attracting customers to their catalogues. Lately, only the Lince main battle tank and the Tiznao-60 have brought substantial orders, with a few nations opting for the BSI-30 amphibious infantry combat vehicle. The Second Empire of the Golden Throne’s large order has guaranteed a low price for the HIM-TAC, meaning that the vehicle will be affordable despite the amount of new technologies incorporated into the vehicle. Few other vehicles of this class, approaching none, include all the new concepts of the HIM-TAC, making this high mobile tactical truck versatile and unique. Indeed, through these new technologies and a modular design MecániCas has attempted to gather clients for their new mine-resistance ambush-protected (MRAP) armored fighting vehicle. Low weight, power and versatility make the HIM-TAC what it is, the tactical truck of the future.

The HIM-TAC makes use of new armor technologies, taking advantage of the recent merging between STS Land Systems and Kriegzimmer to make use of the large Macabee market, to provide all-around protection against heavy machine guns firing tungsten-core (WC) or depleted uranium-core (dUC) armor piercing ammunition. This high level of protection comes in a lightweight package, and total armor protection is up the client. The modular design allows for the client to choose from a variety of options, including the number of doors (two or four), the types of doors and the ballistic protection of different parts of the vehicle. The HIM-TAC can be turned into an armaments carrying vehicle, a tactical supply truck, a medical evacuation (MEDICAV) ambulance, et cetera. It is apt for reconnaissance missions, peacekeeping operations, ambushes, and many other tactical scenarios. Furthermore, its light weight makes it airborne capable and many can be easily air transported to their destination. The vehicle also makes a great base for battlefield staff cars and command centers. The high level of protection available guarantees the safety of its passenger! This is true for even the highest of military commanders and the lowest of privates – in combat, with the adequate floor panel (v-shaped hull), a soldier no longer needs to fear for his life. Even if the vehicle is mangled, the chances are that all the passengers will leave the scene with their bodies intact and fully alive. This, indeed, has been the single most aspect during the design of the Tiznao-10; everything is designed to maximize survivability.

This doesn’t sacrifice mobility or lethality, however. With an independent suspension per wheel, a central inflation unit and a new electric transmission the HIM-TAC is an off-road beast. Capable of reaching velocities of up to 140km/h on-road, its off-road velocity is high thanks to the hydropneumatic struts which guarantee a pleasurable ride at high speed. With the run-flat tires the vehicle can make an escape from an ambush site, without putting the lives of the passengers at stake. The large armored and all-electric roof hatch can fit a heavy machine gun or automatic grenade launcher on the mounting ring, and there’s a mount on the roof panels for a remote weapon station, such as the Castillian HammerFist. Apart from this, the vehicle accepts any kind of active protection system if the client wishes to install one. Thanks to the vehicle’s modularity it can be modified by the client for any job requirement, including special forces missions. Its modularity also means that advanced armor panels can be easily installed on the HIM-TAC to replace current armor panels, meaning that the vehicle will stay current for at least a decade. Ultimately, this means that the client will spend less money to keep their tactical truck fleet current.

The HIM-TAC is the product of the future!
