The Candavan Colonial Federation has declared its independence from the Grand Empire. This comes after some political problems and after much infighting and strained tensions between colonialists and natives of the colonies. Former Governor-General Sir John Kingsley was deposed of after the new Emperor said that the colonies were for sale. This infuriated Candavans as they felt their liberty was bought from them for only $950,000 dollars by a wealthy aristocrat, who named himself Viceroy and established totalitarian rule by martial law. He quartered troops in public places and in houses of what he thought were dangerous idealists. Riots broke out in the major cities of Good Hope and Berkeley, as the citizens arrested the Viceroy and deported him back to the Grand Empire. Infuriated, the Emperor placed the colonies back under complete control of the crown, made General Walter Jones the colonial head and placed heavy taxes on the colonists. He also pushed back the natives and took their old Holy Lands and put Christian missions and new subdivisions on them.

Landon Weatherford, the leader of the ULU, was surprised at the responses and supplies that each country was giving them. "Soon, he thought, "we will be free of the oppressor and be a new nation. Landon Weatherford had manage to sneak across the blockade in the east to access tribal lands and conform with native allies. He had asked for aid from the oppressors, and White Hawk, the natives' chieftain, said he would in exchange for peace from their government if it got into power, which Weatherford promised.

Already, about 25-50 ships were departing for Candava, soon to be part of a blockade around the southern and western ports. The imperials had already taken control of Fort Good Hope on the southern peninsula. "Now", said Admiral Johnathan Davis, " lets see the rebel scum try to get past us now." Little did they know that the ULU had already started recieving major shipments of weapons and ammo. This was definitely going to be quite a WAR.

It is a small force, but it is some of the best in the world for breaking blockades, after several invoked around Zoingo's colonies. It was humid today, almost overwhelmingly so, but Landon Weatherford and his company were not complaining. They had managed to setup a safe house in the hill country, a place where other colonists never ventured and where some didn't even know existed. Weatherford was awaiting word from the G.E. Suddenly, Nick Hall, a fellow ULUer, came running full speed towards Landon. "Landon," Nick said, panting for air, "the G.E. just issued a warning, they are threatining nuclear action." "WHAT!" exclaimed Landon. "Nuclear war?! Over a colony?!! That's absurd, not even Emperor James would be that stupid. Their lying." But even as he said this, Landon could feel his heart beating, his mind raced over this new information. "...Nuclear war...?"

Nick Hall was left in charge of the new outpost they had captured. But he was worried even more. "Surely the Grand Empire will send everything they've got at us now" he thought. "But," he said aloud, "Latislavia, our regional ally is sending us help. Hopefully we won't have to deal with any more fighting for the time being until we move south and meet up with Landon's unit.

Over the Ocean Somewhere
Around 900 fighter jets, 150 bombers, and 20 military cargo planes were over the ocean heading towards Candava. All the pilots were excited, they had never seen actual war before, but they had been training in the roughest conditions and dealing with colonies of their own for years. "About 215 more markas (miles) until destination" said one pilot over his radio. The cargo planes started to seperate from the rest of the group to head towards the eastern part of Candava, followed closely by a handful of fighter jets. They all were anxious, excited and nervous about the upcoming airstrikes, but they would have to refuel in one of the colonies before heading towards Candava.

We would support any people in the region trying to gain freedom against a tyrrany by majority, and we believe that the crown will feel the same. Over Candavan Waters
The fighter jets and bombers soared across the sky and soon they found themselves over the Imperial Naval Blockade. A voice came in from one of the fighter pilots, " Hey guys, lets have some fun!" Suddenly, the planes dove farther down and the jets opend fire on the ships and several explosions happened. The time was about 4:00 in the morning, and the sky was already filling up with flames, as was the water. Bombers began their strikes and soon, the eastern waters were disengaged.

The blockade runners moved closer to the Imperial Blockade, they saw its looming might over in the distance.

"Admiral....look!" A sailor shouted as they saw fighter planes and bombers in the sky.

"That is from the Latislavian Air Force I believe," He remarked.

Suddenly, a blaze of lights and fire went up in the horizon ahead. And they knew the planes reached their intended targets.

Over Candavan Waters
The fighter jets and bombers soared across the sky and soon they found themselves over the Imperial Naval Blockade. A voice came in from one of the fighter pilots, " Hey guys, lets have some fun!" Suddenly, the planes dove farther down and the jets opend fire on the ships and several explosions happened. The time was about 4:00 in the morning, and the sky was already filling up with flames, as was the water. Bombers began their strikes and soon, the eastern waters were disengaged.

The rebels rejoiced at the news of Latislavia's arrival. They had all managed to meet up with each other, so now most if not almost all of the forces were in the southeast, near Ryan Beach. This was do to the fact that intense fighting had been taking place after the first capture of Ryan Beach by the ULU. After that, repeated raids on their new base occured, and even the native fighters weren't helping that much. But a new rebel force had formed, they were the Freedom Fighters. They orginated in Berkeley and surprisingly, they were able to withstand the sheer number of Imperial soldiers in the capital and crossed Monkey Bay to get to the east. They met trouble on the eastern shore, and are still trying to meet with the ULU.
Battle of Ryan Beach
Landon Weatherford, along with Nick Hall, were heading a defensive effort to protect their new stronghold. Imperial forces opened fire and kept advancing toward them. The ULU forces lobbed grenades toward them, killing about ten of the 500 troops. The Imperial forces began picking off ULUers, killing 25-30 of the 247 strong ULU force. "Attack, don't let those Imperial bastards get an inch!!"said Landon. As soon as he said that, grenades killed off about 40 more Imperials while more gunfire and rockets picked off 40 ULU forces. Just then, Nick Hall, along with 80 others, ran towards the Imperials, guns blazing and killing the entire front row of their forces. Nick had killed 5 by himself, and was engaged in battle with another, using a sword his family had given him. Just then, the Imperial General took his bayonet and plunged it into the back of Nick Hall. Then he shot him 7 times. "NIICK!" yelled Landon at his fallen comerade. Instantly filled with hatred, Landon bull rushed towards the General, picking up Nick's sword and cutting his gun in half. Then, Landon sliced off the General's hand, making him fall to the ground, writhing in pain. Landon pinned him to the ground using his foot. He raised his sword and said, "THIS ONE"S FOR NICK!!!!!!!"
He stabbed the General in the heart, took it out, and then stabbed it in his face. He then pulled it out after he was sure he was dead, took it, picked up Nick Hall's corpse and ran back with it, avoiding gunfire."

On Candavan Waters

The blockade runners moved closer to the Imperial Blockade, they saw its looming might over in the distance.

"Admiral....look!" A sailor shouted as they saw fighter planes and bombers in the sky.

"That is from the Latislavian Air Force I believe," He remarked.

Suddenly, a blaze of lights and fire went up in the horizon ahead. And they knew the planes reached their intended targets.

Emperor James was infuriated. He had just recieved news about the blockade being totaled by Latislav and Zoingo forces. "We'll just have to send more, more, more, MORE!"

Sarrowquand would like to offer the hand of friendship towards Candava and recognises it as an independent state. We ask if there is anything that we can contribute to your cause. Perhaps building materials and technical experts for the more peaceful areas of Candava. If the war is to be short then improving your infrastructure will keep you from sliding back into the empire. If the war is to be long then you will need the facilities to continue fighting.

We would also provide defensive forces to protect our building crews.

Southeastern Candavan Waters

The Blockade runners had made it to the blockade, and started to get into the crossfire.

"Remember, hold steady, keep the subs under radar untill my command." The Admiral ordered.

"Three, Two"

The flagship destroyer swayed left, as well as the other blockade runners and the subs readyed their torpedoes.

"One"

They locked on to a few of the battleships....

"Fire All!" The Admiral Yelled.

A blaze of magazine fire and torpedoes were set loose, and in that instant, the runners headed straight for the ships as fast as they could to get though the reckage as fast as possible. Blazes and flashes of light were everywhere, smoke clouded their vision, and then, they were through, unaware of what casulties they had caused.

Eurekan Military port, Truro, Eureka Island


The port was buzzing with activity. men and materials were being loaded onto the ERN's 3rd battlegroup, unaware of there destination.

Over the noise, a voice boomed "ATTENTION!!" over a loudhailer, and the entire army, the 3rd, 4th, and 8th infantry and 7th armoured divisions snapped to attaention.

"Men of the Eurekan expeditionary force, approximately 7 hours ago the leader of the "Grand Empire" James III, declared war on our republic. Due to this unprovoked and idiotic act of hostility, you are being sent to the Candavan colonies to aid the colonial forces, who are at this very moment combating the imperial army. I, general Cosgrove, will be leading all Eurekan forces during this conflict. Good luck."


The men were in shock. They had only months ago fought to establish this country and now they would be at war again.

Everybody, in there own silent way, declared that they would not stop until this threat to their new country was annhialated.

The Eurekans were going to war, and they would not be defeated.

The Underground Liberation Union rebel force advanced southward and towards the west early this morning, outside sources say. "All ULU forces are to apparently join near the same location and take back the bay by capturing Good Hope" said Imperial General Walter Jones. "We cannot allow that, because if these rebel scums take the fort, we will lose the entire East." The ULU has had a control on the East for awhile however, despite Imperial efforts, which have been hampered by the Freedom Fighters, another rebel group based in Berkeley, the capital and the most heavily guarded area. The FF has repeated bombing attacks on government buildings, killing up to 100 imperial soldiers, witnesses have said.

NEWS TONIGHT: From Studio 9B in Royal Centre in The Grand Empire
"Good evening everyone, I'm Tom Tucker. Tonight's top story: Candavan rebel forces have crippled the Empire's hold on the capital, Berkeley. Eyewitnesses reported that the that a joint effort by the Freedom Fighters and the Underground Liberation Union resulted in the capture of 86 soldiers and the Head General Walter Jones. The ULU, led by Landon Weatherford, had left behind some forces, met up in the northeast with some other ULUers and FFs and sailed across Monkey Bay to Berkeley, where they snuck by port authority and captured the government building where General Jones, along with 88 other troops, were based. The units apparently stormed in and began firing, killing 20 other soldiers and disarming 20 more. Weatherford, the ULU leader, busted in to Jones' headquaters along with 10 others, and captured him without firing a shot. We will have more details and developments for you along the way. And in other news, a man with THREE buttocks......"

I don't believe that will be necessary. We have need for deployment in Berkeley, but that may be impossible. So we secured Isla Dauphine for you, as the naval blockade is retreating or nonexsistant there. If you land there, you will be able to cross the strait into the southern part of Berkeley. We also need troops stationed in the northeast hill country to keep our hold over the East strong.

They have only one other colony, but it is heavily guarded. You may need to try attacking the G.E. itself.

HEADLINE NEWS: REBELS CAPTURE CAPITAL IN CANDAVA

Last night, the combined forces of the ULU and the FF plus soldiers from other nations, captured the entire city of Berkeley, including the airport, reports say. Landon Weatherford stepped out onto the balcony of the government plaza and told the crowd, which was now free of forces surrounding them, that "today is a day of hope. We are now on the way to freedom. We have all fought hard. We shall soon see a withdrawal of Imperial troops from here and we will be FREE!" Whether that is entirely true or not, it does seem that the Grand Empire has not been sending other reinforcements. Their naval blockade failed, as fighter pilots from Latislavia and Zoingo destroyed them in what could be described as one fell swoop. With this capture of the Candavan capital, it appears that Candava is on the road to victory. The only remaining obstacle in their way, according to some analyists, is that Fort Good Hope is still under the Empire's control, althoguh that may change, as there have been reports of the ULU forces moving ever closer to the Good Hope Peninsula.

HEADLINE: FREEDOM FOR CANDAVA

It was announced by the Grand Empire that they will begin withdrawing Imperial Forces from Candava, so as to deal with sudden attacks on their homelands and another major civil war in another colony. The streets of Berkeley, the capital, were filled with celebration. All were in jubilance as soldiers began marching towards the docks. ULU leader Landon Weatherford told reporters earlier that "this will go down as another victory for the rightous cause of freedom. Power to the people." Weatherford also commented that there will be a funeral for Nick Hall, a fallen former ULU member. It is now reported that soldiers are vacating Fort Good Hope.

OOC: Candava will hold elections to deal with setting up a new government. I will set up another thread for voting. I know, kinda anticlimatic, ain't it?
