Embassy Exchange Program
The Diggledom Empire hereby extends an invite to all foreign nations to establish embassies to fulfil many tasks within the empire, including, but not limited to; formalising diplomatic relations, strengthening tie between our nations and to provide consular services to any of your citizens while within our borders. As befitting foreign embassies all of the embassies grounds are considered the sovereign nations territory.
Description
The embassies have recently been constructed along three of the main roads in the centre of Susdal, the Diggledom capital. Each embassy is the only occupier of its block, consisting of an area of 5,000m square. Embassies have all been built to similar standards, a five storey building with two basements, a below ground car-park and a below ground armoury and range. Four of the above ground floors are arranged for office space with the fifth configured for an ambassador’s residence. If any changes are required in the layout of the embassy then please tell us and they will be carried out.
The diplomatic quarter is car accessible, with an organised road system that is restricted access for non-diplomatic vehicles. There are also underground electric rail links operating in the area, with three stops inside the diplomatic quarter that are easily accessible. Since the capital city is located in the centre of Diggledom, nearly 200km from the sea, all the embassies have been assigned a hanger at the Susdal Airport, suitable for planes up to the size of a Boeing 707.
Restrictions
All embassies and ambassadorial residences are considered by the Diggledom government to be the sovereign foreign territory of that nation. But foreign diplomatic personnel are not exempt from local laws when outside their own sovereign territory. It should be noted, however, that diplomatic personnel that are arrested and tried will be given lee-way if they can argue successfully that they were unaware of such a law. Of course, this will only refer to the laws based around Diggledom traditions, any breach of more widespread laws will be tried and the offender returned to their sovereign country.
Weapons laws in Diggledom are reasonably strict, so all embassy security personnel will be expected to pass the Diggledom Concealed Carry Test. This test is simply a formality and should prove no trouble to security personnel. The weapons that are assigned to an embassy are restricted to small arms only. No weapons with a calibre larger than 12.7mm, no crew-served weapons and no missile systems of any type.
Susdal is a no fly zone, but it is acknowledged that nations may wish to practise embassy evacuation procedures so upon application to the Diggledom government the restrictions can be lifted for a single day of practising once every three months.
