That's no moon... (FT Intro)

The entire planet was suddenly flooded with light. Deep indentions all over the surface lit, shining blinding white light into the vacuum of space. The surface rumbled, and the vibrations continued all the way to the planet’s core. And slowly but surely, it began to spin. Sluggishly at first, then it sped up, and the vibrations ceased. As it spun it moved forwards, the holes being lit and extinguished one by one as its pace increased. These lights cast wild reflections off of the planet’s flawlessly smooth surface, as did the distant systems it flew past. It looked almost like a spherical mirror as it hurtled through the void, save for the small gaps in its surface, which were spread a few hundred kilometres apart. Then it was gone, leaving nothing but a ripple in the fabric of space itself.
Simultaneously, it dropped like a pebble through the rippling surface of space, and flew at an ungodly speed towards a large planet. Half of the small planet seemed to be set ablaze by the light which radiated from the enormous sun, around which its target revolved. One side of the speeding sphere suddenly sprang to life, thrusters lighting as it attempted, with some success, to slow its breakneck speed. It headed slightly to the side of the enormous planet, and as it drew closer, it quickly became obvious that the planet was populated. Approaching the dark side of the planet, lights from enormous cities were clearly visible, and radio chatter could be heard even from this distance. Damn. This could be problematic, but it would be weeks before he would have regained enough energy to leave. He was using his last reserves just to stay on course, gradually slowing down, and being pulled in by the enormous planet’s gravitational pull. A few moments later, he was in orbit, revolving silently around the billions of people below.
OOC: I'm looking for somebody to roleplay as the planet below. I don't really care who it is, or how you respond, though I'd prefer not to be annihilated on sight if that's not an issue. :)
I'm also a little unhappy about how the intro turned out, so I might try to redo the post at some point. The gist of it won't change though.

OOC: Sorry, it just seems like it would be difficult to avoid conflict early on with a Borg-esque race. But if you if you think you could avoid any sort of large-scale attack (my species has a natural life span of ≈1 month, so it probably wouldn't be all that appealing to assimilate) then there's no problem.

The massive ripple in space-time sent shockwaves through the sensor grid surrounding the planetoid. Only the small orbiting satellites that drifted around the planet stood between the cities and a foreign moon. Immediately after the moon took orbit around the planet there was an increase in widespread tidal waves and earthquake activity, which swept across the surface like a storm. The network of weather control satellites flared into action in an attempt to control the rapid degeneration of the colony while the surface activity intensified. Thousands were evacuated to bunkers and spaceports within the hour.
A transmission was sent up from the surface, as the passing satellites picked up artificial energy readings in the moon.

(Translation: To unidentified craft: Remove yourself from Draconic Order space immediately. You have one hour to comply.)
It took several minutes to translate the message, but a response was quickly provided.
"To the people of the Draconic Order, I apologize for the inconvenience our arrival may have caused," the message read, "but unfortunately I cannot leave on such short notice. My fuel is almost depleted, and it will be several weeks before I will be able to break orbit of your planet."

A few minutes passed in silence as the surface condition began to stabilize.
<... Unidentified vessel, remain svaklar wux re.>
(Translation: Unidentified vessel, remain where you are.)
Within moments of the return transmission several subspace fissures ripped open. A small group of warships, denoted by the visible weapon ports that flared to life as they exited the jump nodes and turned toward the Syndicate Moon, entered the system several dozen kilometers from the planet and began to move toward the moon. Several moments after their arrival, COM traffic passed between the two, and a transmission was then sent to the Syndicate Station.

Another text-only message was returned within seconds.
"My name is Victor Madoc Sergei. I am the leader, and the sole sentient inhabitant of this vessel. My only purpose in Draconic space is to regain the energy required for its continued to function. I entered this solar system without the knowledge that it was inhabited, and lacked the fuel needed to change course."
The spacecraft continued its orbit around the Draconian homeworld, its energy signatures rapidly fading as the reflective paneling coating its surface absorbed the intense light radiating from the sun. It would have seemed entirely lifeless if it were not for the transmissions it exchanged with the warships surrounding it.

The planet had calmed down as the environmental satellites stabilized the planet after burning like the sun. Thankfully the void of space was a great coolant or the satellites would've shorted out by the amount of work they had to do. The people on the surface breathed a sigh of relief, but remained in the shelters to make certain of their safety.

A Firmtrix Class Crusier (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b229/dmsvr/Space%20Station/Ilogu-44199-space_ship.jpg), the Laan, was moving slowly toward the system, it was escorting a cargo ship full of "food". They were heading to Greal. The main "shipping lanes" were packed with ships, so they were authorized to carry the "food" using a different route. The Laan was heavily armed, like all Frimtrix Class Cruisers. The Cargo ship the cruiser was escorting was one of the last survivors of the Techarian-Berrax wars.

The scanners returned an odd image. There appeared to be no activity whatsoever on the vessel, except for a small area around its core. Enormous, insulated pipes extended from the openings on the vessel's surface, through the mantle, and culminating in a small shielded area in the exact center of the spherical ship. The only indications that there was any life aboard the craft were the radio communications it exchanged with the planet below.

After several minutes of translating the message unto the computer,"The Draconic Order sir."

"Now, about that moon... ship... whatever. If it is powered by the sun, shouldn't we be able to modify our PBCs to supply the necessary power boost and get that damned thing out of our sights?"
The engineering bridge officer scratched his head.
"Perhaps... I will need to conduct some simulations."
"Proceed then."
“Increase speed” Muttered the captain, the engines were turned on to full power, as the cargo ship and the cruiser moved quickly through the space, the right side of the cargo ship exploded. The captain was surprised, at first he thought the Draconic Order ships had attacked, then his radar showed a Berrax frigate attacking the cargo ship. The Berraxs had long fought against the Techars, and the war had gotten nowhere. The Cruiser turned on its shield and began firing at the enemy frigate.
As the cargo ship exploded, a short message was sent to the Cruiser.
Do you require assistance?
The Cruiser did not respond, at the same time, the Berrax frigate attacked the cruiser as the cruiser moved in to protect the Cargo ship, shuttles were being sent to the cargo ship to evacuate some people.

The Frigate's crew was completely caught off guard, the shields were down immediately to 50%, the frigate "panicked" and moved off in the vast empty space, and jumped back to the Berrax base. The Berraxs would strike back soon.

A Striker Class battleship suddenly appeared out of nowhere, The battleship thankfully belonged to the Techars. The cargo ship would be in Greal in 12 hours, but the attack caused a delay of 12 hours, not to mention, the cargo ship had to stop moving. So the Techars, instead of moving, waited for the engineers to fix the cargo ship. The Striker Class battleship's shields were turned on just in case of the Berraxs coming back, or the Draconic ships doing something.

The Draconic patrol sat there in formation as the battleship entered the system... for the vessel to arrive so fast, the systems they were operating from must be close by... which meant that this area of space should be fortified. Perhaps even made into a staging point for an incursion into Techar space.
The cargo ship was under repairs, engineers were flown back and forth from the battleship to the damaged cargo ship. The repairs were expected to be completed in 10 hours, which was a long time. The Striker Class Battleship continued flying shuttles over to the cargo ship.
A message was sent to the Draconic Order ships

"What is the status on that analysis?"
"... Well... I believe that we could alter the PBCs to fire concentrated streams of protons, which should act to accelerate the recharge cycle... since the 'moon' is collecting protons from the sun."
"Make it happen then."
"It will take us a few hours..."
If this were an anime, there would be an irk symbol throbbing on the back of the captain's head.
