For once, it was quiet in the system, there was only one planet left in the area, and it orbitted around a large Sun. The species on the planet were only in their tribal stages, believing in primitave gods and superstitions. It was unworthy to live in the eyes of the Chaos Gods.
Suddenly, a huge Space Hulk blasted into the system. A space hulk was a ship melded with other ships by the power of the warp, and now had dozens of different types of ship connected to it. It was named The Torch of the Word and it was on a very important mission. It was to find a planet suitable for a base of operations, and it had just found one.
Sulin, Priest of Ish; the god of Life, looked up from his ritual. He was next to a large lake, and he was about to sprinkle the crushed bones onto the leaves when he noticed a thing in the sky. It was like a comet, and from here Sulin could see that it was painted Dark Red. He smiled, this was a good omen. He was about to look back down to finish the ritual when he noticed more comets in the sky. What is the meaning of this? He thought, as his curiousity turned to confusion, and then to fear. He turned around to see one of the Comets heading straight towards the lake. He fell to the floor, praying to Ish that this was something that was good, but in his heart he knew this was very, very bad. The comet crashed into the lake, and the water around it evaporated instantly. The lake was quite deep, but the comet's tip reached the top of the water. The Priest was about to go over to the comet, when it burst open with a crack of energy, and water started to pour inside. Sulin heard shouts coming from the village behind him, and he turned to see the militia running up the hill to protect their High Priest, he was second in importance only to the Chief. The leader was shouting in alarm, and Sulin was about to turn to the comet to see what he was shouting about when the militia leader's head exploded. The corpse fell to the floor, and Sulin stared in shock and fear as blood started to pour out of the mans neck. He sya therest of the militia lower their spears, and thats when Sulin did turn around, then he wished he had not, and he saw towering red armoured Giants burst out of the water. Sulin cried out, and backed away to the militia. The brave warriors sorounded Sulin in a protective square. The Red Giant didn't seem to care. It really was huge, and it had a large horned helmet on its head, and something in his hand. It was made to look like a roaring monster, and it seemed to spray fire at the militia. The front row of warriors were ripped apart, their chests, arms and legs exploding in flesh and gore. The rest of the militia shouted in fear, and charged the huge Armoured creature. It took one step towards the men and it was upon them, smashing its fist into anyone that came close. It roared in anger, and punched a warriors head off his shoulders. Sulin ran, too scared to help the remaining men. He sprinted back to the village, and turned his head to see Dozens of more Armoured Giants exiting the comets. He could see a group of Militia spearing one of the creatures several times, but it would not die. He could see women and children being ripped apart by the strange contraptions in the Giant's hands. He bolted over to a group of warriors who had managed to actually spear the creature so many times in the head it had died.
"See Warriors of Ish? These creatures can be killed they are not Immortals! We can beat-" He was interrupted mid-sentance as the body came alive once more, snatching up the warrioor closest and breaking his neck. The surviving Militia stabbed the Ginat again and again but it crawled towards Sulin relentlessly. He screamed as it grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up into the air. The militia, seeing that the Giants armour was too powerful to peirce by their shields, stabbed the creature in its head. But as it roared its last dying breath, it ripped Sulin in half.
After the Local inhabitants had been destroyed, the Chaos Space Marines of the Word Bearer Legion set the world up as their base of operations in the area, so that they could use it as a stepping stone to launch further attacks into space.
