After the disbanding of the Federal Communist Party, under law a election had to be done to replace the seats of ex-Communists who chose to leave. Also, The Presidental election were to be conducted to replace the temporary presidency established after the return of the presidential government. The polling places opened and the candidates of the parties prepared for the elections.
