So, I was looking at some of the RPs other than the military threads, and wondered if there would be an interest in an RP involving vampires. The vampires in question are based on a short story of mine you can find here: http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2421171/1/

Unlike most vampires, however, mine are relatively human. They can go out in sunlight, don't really 'hunt,' and for the most part, don't have supernatural powers. There are a few exceptions; those vampires known as 'Arcana' are able to do most classic vampire moves etc., but their numbers are few and inbetween. The plot of the RP would be more political than supernatural and would be more like a parallel to the plot in the story. If there's interest, I'll explain that in more detail.

Also, each person can have up to two chars. and control of a 'Family.' a Family is basically the smallest social unit, and at the head is a vampire 'Elder.' Each Elder sits on the Coven's Council as a delegate for his/her Family. I might amend the two char. rule to include other Family members as it becomes necessary.

well, in my own ideas, w-wolves and vampires are actually closer related than in other fictions, due to my own gleaning of medieval lore. i'd really appreciate it if you joined.

sure, though i'd prefer the vampire to be your 'Elder,' though the w-wolf could be an Arcana.

ok, a few explanations in case i wasn't clear:

Family=The basic unit of vampires, consisting of as little as 3 and as many as 50 vampires. They are all inter-related by 'turning' relationships (ie. someone was turned by the other in the Family)

Elder=The head of a Family. Each Elder is not necessarily the oldest of the group, but is mutually decided to be the delegate/representative for the Family. The position is elective, though term of office is left to the Family and the Elder to decide.

Coven=The group of Vampires as a whole.

Council=The ruling authority of the Coven, comprised of the Elders of each Family, some of which sit as Council-members. All Council-members are Arcana.

Arcana=Ancient vampires, rooted in the old powers and capable of what is generally known as having 'vampiric' powers (shape-shifting, lecanthropy, bats, etc...). Only certain of the oldest vampires are Arcana.

There might be more, i'll sorta make it as i go, or as i remember...

I think some of my local vampires would be interested in this type of thing.(tagged)

Not really, just joking. Now I'd go with the very exact Slavic folklore regarding vampires should I join this RP, if it's not a problem. I like the potentially interesting situations from limitations like vulnerability to sunlight.

sorry, but Vampires as they are depicted in this rp/story, are not affected by sunlight (ok, technically there's a bit of adversion, but they just put on sunglasses). otherwise, you're accepted.

just fyi, the Council is very heirarchical, which may clash w/ your political views...

Bio: See Ruler Bio+, Nyx was bitten in the early 1650's while in the chazakain jungle, he was a slave onto his bitten master until his masters death in the 1950's, he has no memories of the time between the 1650's and 1950's. He eventually become mayor of Chaziton and has been elected to the president for life position for Chazaka. Currently heads both Chazaka and the OD Clan of Vampires. It is not currently known how many people know of Nyx's condition.

Bio: A man cursed as an unknown vampire seeking for easy prey attacked him while he was wounded in the hellish trenches of the Great War of Soviet Steam against the witches and traitors, Vlad has struggled for decades to find a way back to Earth since the great chasm of reality. Once he finally found a way back to his world free of the supernatural scourge of magic, he has witnessed the corruption of the revolution in his original world, regretting deeply the choice to have left the world and realm of Pangaea. Since then, very little was heard about him or his deeds, as he has found a refuge into a strangely nomadic lifestyle, seeking for many further decades for a goal nobody could ever guess. It's uncertain whether he has or not any friends, subordinates or allies, other than his partner Ekaterina.

Traits: Wears intricate robes that could be a sort of nobility attire in another world, hiding most of her body and keeping her face under shadows. Aloof, even more mysterious than Vladimir, she sometimes seems to be in a permanent mourning or regret.
Interests/hobbies: Archery, others unknown.
Bio: Ekaterina was found by Vladimir, hiding in the sewers of Stalingrad in October 1943. Since then he has taken a liking for her, realizing she shared a similar plight. She has lived with him since them, and arguably could be considered his wife, although there is no hint of what sort of relationship exists between both. What can be assured is that she is much more experienced than him, and that she either has much to hide or want to forget her past, for she never told anyone, not even Vladimir, about her past.

great chars. as well. one slight thing i should mention: our vamps are, for the most part, human; the only thing is their occasional need to feed on blood (about once a month). also, most Covens have outlawed hunting of humans, utilizing blood banks instead. you can sure keep your chars as they are, but the FAmily will be considered rogue/outsiders. (ie, you can be from a different Coven)

Suffice to say, my primary source of inspiration is Interview with the Vampire, and I don't like things to come up easily, neither I like to RP Mary Sues.

that's ok. mainly, my inspiration for the story (really, my rp makes more sense if u at least glance over it) was to reject all the common vampire motifs and focus on the people-behind-the-vampires, as it were.

Ok, now that we have at least two sign-ups (I want at least two more Families before we start...) I'll outline the premise for the RP itself.

It will take place in Osius City, in my country (CFUS). Soviet, you'll like my country, it's very socialist. Anyway, the main premise will be the introduction of the new Families into the Coven, with some being more accepted than others, and powerplays within the Council itself. I will RP the Council as well as my chars, though the only times i'll RP the Council will be at meetings etc.

The city itself is the epitome of 'metropolis,' more like the Superman version than the Batman version of New York. There are rail and subway lines, clogged streets etc...

I have on hand several human mercenaries I portray from time to time and due to the chaotic nature of your story I believe they would be rather useful in terms of personal security for whichever 'family' you think would be most likely to employ such individuals.

The political aspect is more of a power struggle, between the old, entrenched Councilmembers (most of whom are/were aristrocracy) and the new breeds of Vampire (i consider Soviet Steams ppl to be this type).

WA, the younger Families would seem that type, though you could make a Family and portray it through the eyes of the mercs. i think that'd be interesting IMHO. just keep it two chars max, though.

I'm only good at the small-scale stuff anyway. It's always nice to have an extra gun, and someone who knows how to use it on standby, making sure your back is covered.

I'm going to have to throw in a family head in the bio, but don't worry. He won't be participating.

Bio: Zion first served his country in the United States Marine Corps, first as a rifleman and then as a Scout/Sniper. Raised in Oregon, Peter took his first deer at age five and began to learn the family trade of gunsmithing. By the time he was sixteen he'd built his first rifle and after he graduated highschool he'd enlisted. Zion spent ten years with the Corps, seeing action in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 1st Recon. Post-service Peter sold his services to the highest bidder, working with such companies as Black Water and Triple Canopy, as well as tours in the South America and Africa.

Zion is a truly gifted marksman; a combination of talent, skill, and training that make him a superior battlefield predator. While competent in close-range conflicts Zion prefers to stick to the shadows, carefully waiting for the opportunity to squeeze off a single precise round and kill his mark as quickly as possible before displacing before anyone realizes what just took place.

Like any consumate sharpshooter, Zion hand-built his primary sniping weapon on a WA2000 platform, and has constantly updated it to keep pace with advances in ballistics technologies. Bio: Jackson Davis is an old hand at the mercenary trade. A retired Ranger and Green Beret of the 18B Weapon Specialist and 18C Engineering Specialist professions, he brings a lot of valuable skills and contacts to the table. Davis has shot it, repaired it, built it, blown it up, or otherwise gotten his hands on it and done something manical with it. An avid gun-nut, Davis maintains a mental rolodex of firearms, their manufacturers, and their accessories. He also has a working knowledge of nearly every American, Allied, and enemy weapon system currently fielded or fielded in the past forty years. Born into a family of gun collectors from Florida, Jackson has developed a love for chasing beautiful women and drinking expensive rum. Jackson's service record includes tours in Colombia, Afghanistan, and Iraq in service to his country, and an extended tour as a diamond merc in Africa.

Davis has also built himself a small fortune in the gun-running industry, where his extensive network of contacts on the black market from his days running black operations for the CIA serve him quite well. In addition to being able to aquire nearly any sort of firearm or explosive on the market, Davis can also show you how to shoot it, maintain it, take it apart, destroy it, and hide it from those you don't want to see it. This unique skillset has made him a hot commodity in the private sector. Well-versed in close-quarters battle tactics and unarmed combat, Davis' size makes him a formidable threat at close range.

Bio: Vincent Detta was born to a mid-western family around the end of World War II, Vincent's father fought with the Allies as a paratrooper during several key battles, and again in Korea where he was finally killed withdrawing from the 38th parallel. Vincent's own war came with the onset of Communist hostility in Asia. Having been enlisted with the US Army from his 18th birthday, Vendetta had already completed Ranger training when the birth of the Special Forces was unfolding. He immediately volunteered and after back-breaking training was accepted into the ranks just in time for Vietnam.

Vendetta spent three tours total overseas fighting his most hated enemy, the Communists. He killed dozens, to the point that after the war was declared over they had to pull him out of the country by force. He went reluctantly, and watched in horror as the next few months unfolded. The NVA finally took over Vietnam, and all his killing had been for nothing. The post-war climate was harsh and unforgiving, and Vendetta fell into the role of drifter, moving from town to town an outcast for his heroic service overseas in the new hippie culture.

Eventually he fell in with a woman named Miranda Sykes, a night-riding biker whom he fell deeply in love with. It turned out Miranda was the head of a small vampire coven, and Vincent was eventually accepted because of his combat expeirence and valuable security skills. Miranda fell to a pack of hunters several years ago, and since then Vendetta has migrated the coven abroad, eventually settling Osius City and establishing himself as one of the more radical vampire Elders.
