[E2]Securing the ocean

Located on the other side of the Atlantic, Liberia would be a good strategic base for Pineholtine forces. While part of it was under the control of another state, the other half had fallen into anarchy, and would be brought to order. Pineholtine ships were en route already, and would arrive in the next couple of hours. Bombers flying from northern Brazil were making constant attacks on the remainder of the Tyrandi forces, which had turned into a looting, terrorising mob, which unfortunately was still in possession of several armoured vehicles, and missiles.

EDIT - This is paused until I get more accurate information on the Tyrandi forces.

Eighteen F-5 "Falghun" ("Falcon") fighter-bombers were flying towards the main town of former Tyrandi Liberia, Greenville. Using their advanced thrust vectoring, they were more than capable of avoiding the enemy missiles as they powered towards their targets, which were all key rebel positions, such as armoured bunkers, and command headquarters, which had been marked out by photographic reconnaissance. Launched as the first offensive wing by the carrier battle group in the Atlantic Ocean, their mission was to soften up all the ground targets, and allow a beach invasion to take place. One hundred miles away from the targets, and well out of range of any defensive weapons, they prepared to launch a sole cruise missile each. The on-board computer counted down, "Try...due...onen" ("Three...two...one"). Then the missiles detached, and the aeroplanes flew back to base, as the ramjet motors of the missiles kicked in, and flew towards their targets.

Out of the missiles 15 made direct hits and destroyed or damaged their targets, whilst the other three prematurely detonated, as they could not locate their targets. When the information was received the mission was viewed as a success, but more work would have to go in to marking out targets on the missiles computer before launch, so as to avoid any more missile failures.

Meanwhile, thousands of feet below the aeroplanes, a landing force consisting of an amphibious assault ship, backed up with landing platform docks, and air cushioned landing crafts. These would provide the bulk of the invasion force, and would be supplemented by transport ekroplanes which would fly in as the invasion force got closer to land, and a small contingent of airborne forces which would be dropped over runways to secure them.

This was the largest ever display of force shown by the armed forces of Pynholt, and many had questioned why it was necessary. However, recent events had forced the hand of Government into ordering this attack. After the descent into chaos of Tyrandi Liberia, the remnants of the Tyrandi Navy and the rest of its armed forces had turned to piracy, and several commercial vessels belonging to Pynholt had been attacked. This could not continue to go unpunished, and so Tyrandi Liberia would have to be taken to secure the Atlantic Ocean for commercial vessels.
