Imperial Navy announces tender for Patrol Boats

The Imperial Navy has seen the need to increase its brown water capabilities, for border patrol for activities including but not limited to prevention of smuggling activities, prevention of transportation of illegal narcotics, illegal immigration from the sea, defence against possible sea based attacks and invasion, anti-piracy measures and protection of Empire sea assets including oil rigs. The Imperial Navy wishes to upgrade its current patrol boats the outdated Lockalaylee Class ships. The requirements for these boats they must have a sufficient range (at least 3,500 nautical miles) with a speed of at least 26 knots, electrical equipment must also be compatible with the Empires land based Naval command HQ as well as the Integrated System Network. The Imperial Navy also wishes to be able to purchase 16 of these with an option of 4 more, with the boats to be built at the Monaga shipyards.

OOC: Yes I should have put that in I will give one RL month from now (ie the 29th of Feb) till acception of proposals are closed and then the selection process will begin which will be selected by the end of march. So I will bump this every couple of days or so.

We would propose a 3m amindships "plug" which would allow much increased fuel bunkerage taking the operating range out to 3700Nm. The prices quoted are for fully finished examples delievred from Crookfur yards, for domestic production we would generally charge a reasonable up front licensing fee plus a small pertage for each ship porduced to cover the transfer of the required tooling and and techncial information along with the porvsion of personnel to assit in getting the production started.

Mudskipper class combat hydroplane (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=988) - a fast planing boat suitable for green, brown and limited blue water use.

This vessel is designed for deep-stealth, high-speed operations in distributed network warfare. Long range is made possible by using liquid hydrogen fuel, efficient turbine-waterjet propulsion and lightweight carbon fiber construction, and the capability for high speed stems from combining wing-in-ground effect with dynamic hovering and planing to reduce water contacting surface to waterjet intakes.

Mudskipper can be equipped with a multitude of weapons, from low-recoil fast cannons (including CIWS) to 8-24 light anti-ship missiles, and fitted for roles from border patrol to anti-submarine warfare. All armament and sensor equipment is modular and can be installed or removed at any dock or even a large dock-type landing ship. Specify which armament you want, and the loadout will be quickly designed.

However, due to the complex and non-traditional construction, the Mudskipper hull and engines can' be just built at any shipyards and equipping yours with the proper lines would be impractical for the order size (our lines output is measured in hundreds per year). Outfitting, however, can be done on spot with proper equipment - you can install own armament systems.
The cost ranges from N$25 million for an empty hull with propulsion and basic electronics to N$40...N$75 million for fully equipped vessels, depending on the equipment. If you find this cost high, please consider that the capabilities more than match it, and small displacement is a result of lightweight construction rather than low capacity.
