Today, Parliament resumed for the first time in their brand new building.
Built on Trotsky Place, the center of government, where many embassies reside, the new parliament building exemplifies a classical style, and includes the four coats of arms of the original four noble families of Yanitaria, and a fifth seal, representing President Norheim's family.
It is common knowledge that Norheim, the head of the Monarchist Party, would make himself king if not for his cautiousness about creating a new "Noble" class.
The building (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/UNDComrade/Yanitaria/Parliament.jpg), pictured here, now dominates the Trotsky Place skyline, and can clearly be seen by the nearby embassies.
From the embassies, one can also clearly observe the presidential palace, atop The Revolutionary's Hilltop.
In the opening ceremony, a marine honor guard raised the flags of the nation, province, and city on 300, 240, and 225 decimeter flag poles for the first time. As is tradition, a bottle of wine was popped open, and shared between the president, the head architect, and the construction foreman.
Enlisted marines, in full dress uniform (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/UNDComrade/Yanitaria/Marine.png), held the huge crowds at bay with AY-142 rifles. Nearby buildings housed marine snipers as they watched for any suspicious behavior. Police, in their regular uniforms (http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i156/UNDComrade/Yanitaria/PolUni.png), had a heavy presence in the city today, with several different cities represented, to augment Yanitaria City Gendarmes.
