Since the Fiefdom was dismantled by rebel factions in Austronavia two years ago, two new governments have been installed in Austronavia. The first was a very short dictatorship/oligarchy led by Sir Ryan Cromwell, now just known as Ryan Cromwell since the abolition of titles of nobility. This year's race ought to be pretty interesting. Here are the candidates and their stances:
1. Ryan Cromwell
Running mate: Desmond Bernard
Party affilation: none officially, but many supporters of Cromwell are called "Cromwellites."
What he's done: He, along with Bernard, raised the major rebel faction that captured and deported the fief back to his home. With that victory, Cromwell and Bernard, a black man, declared an end to the imposed aprtheid in Austronavia , particularly in the capital, Melbourne. Many political analyist think that these bare facts alone will help Cromwell cruise to victory.
Main Focus: Working into and maintaining a strong econmy, opening up foreign trade, and reworking the Constitution to give civilians more civil and political freedoms, gun control, and a balnce of socialism and capitalism. Also believes in looser government, and the establishment of a Democratic- Republic.
Main Spending Policy: Defence and Education.
2. Oliver Jones
Running Mate: Wendell Brown
Party: Federalists
What he's done: Also helped bring down the Fief and voted for an established Republic. He has also been an avid supporter of the apartheid.
Main Focus: The environment,strengthening the hold over big buisnesses, and more socialist policies.
Main Spending Policy: Social Welfare and Health.
3. Rev. Kenneth Grey
Running Mate: Don Landon
Party: Conservative Coalition
What he's done: once a Royalist, now a minister of a church in Cookston, Austronavia. He says that religion needs to play more of a role in government and that it is often left out too much.
Main Focus: Incorporating Spirituality into the Constitution and establishing Austronavia as a Holy Christian Republic, lowering taxes, and increase of capitalism.
Main Spending Policy: Spirituality and Defence.
