Hydria, Capital City Of Ustio North - Population: 60 Million

Grace Island - Population: 0
- A massive project under Prime Minister Shane Kennedy, Grace Island was once a wasteland. In 1997, when Kennedy was elected, he pledged to turn it into a city. 10 Years later, it was finally finished. However, many delays and rumours that the wasteland was once the site of an ancient Valkynaz graveyard, many Ustian people have avoided the island alltogether. After the election of David Foulke, the island was handed over to the military as a huge urban training area.

Spike Islands - Population: Unknown
- A trio of small islands north of Pelagious connected by narrow land bridges. Beleived to be base for smugglers & terrorists.

Key Dates And Events In Ustian History:

May 29th, 1856: Founding - Ustio North Was Officially Formed By A Coalition Of Grand Dukes, or Markynaz, as they are known to the Ustian people.

February 7th - March 12th, 1905: H5S2N1 Outbreak - A mutagenic virus was discovered in what became Solis Ortis. While causing no visiable effects, the virus created a rage in the victims that was uncontainable. However, the victims still retained their sanity; they knew who they were, what year it was etc. The virus was quickly contained and destroyed. Records say that the death toll of the virus was estimated at 200,000.

April, 1914: Revolution - The people of Ustio North demanded that the current, corrupt Government stand down from its post. The Prime Minister, then John Mordred, refused. It was in this instant that Civil War broke out.
The Government was quick to condemn any who supported the revolution to death. But the people would not be bowed. Even in the face of total Genocide, they resisted actively, each death only driving them harder.

Soon, the Resistance Army formed, and they fought the Ustian Army in a massive battle when the Resistance marched on the House of Knights in 1951. During the battle, Arthur Foulke, leader of the Resistance, was found by General Frank Gaul, leader of the Ustian Army. The two fought, and after a tense battle, Arthur killed the General by thrusting his sword through him. Even then, as their leader lay dead, the Army managed to rout the Resistance, and the battle was lost. Over 5,000 Ustian people died, but the Army still held Hydria, the capital, and the PM still had power.

February, 1915: Revolution - Reinvented - Eight months after the Battle Of Hydria, the Resistance Army was back to it's original strength, and was poised to march on the capital once more.

However, this time their ranks were bolstered with The Conservative Morality's First Battalion. With a proper military unit on their side, the Resistance was an unstoppable force during the march on Hydria. Led once again by Arthur Foulke, the Resistance smashed the Army defending Hydria, and headed for the PM's seat of power, The House Of Knights. Arthur was first into The House Of Knights, and he confronted John Mordred, offering a final chance to surrender. Mordred refused, instead opting to engage Arthur in battle. Mordred fought Arthur in the old throne room, where the king of Ustio once sat. In the end, Arthur mortally wounded Mordred, who lay dying on the King's throne. But, in a final act of malice, Mordred threw his sword as Arthur and the Resistance were leaving. It struck him square in the back, piercing his heart. He died on the spot he stood. His closest friend Daniel, and his son, Constantine, took him to the mountain Alavon, and he was buried within the mountain's deep caverns. Constantine was named the next Prime Minister, and he ruled for 10 years, when he was killed in an air crash.

February, 1974: H5S2N1 Re-appearance - Almost 70 years after the original outbreak, the H5S2N1 Virus, or The Thirst as it has become known, re-appeared in a small community just south of the city of Solis Ortis. After some of the victims were secured, scientists were finally able to study the virus that almost decimated Solis Ortis.

It was uncovered that although the virus can be transfered through biting, that it was originally a gene. The gene, dubbed the hemato gene, was found to function remarkably similar to those found in those with Haemophilia or Cystic Fibrosis; that is, that a person can have part of the gene, but not the virus. They must have the whole gene to have the virus. Essentialy, the virus becomes part of the body if left unchecked, but after a while manifests itself as a gene. This changed the way that the virus was looked at. Almost immediately, DNA scans began in every city. It is believed that a facility is located in Ustio that holds those who have been confirmed infected, but this rumor was dispelled by the Ustian Government

May 29th, 2006: Prime Ministerial Election - One of Ustio North's notable PM's, Gareth MacMillan, is elected.

December 2nd, 2007: Prime Ministerial Dissapearance - Gareth MacMillan dissapears. Air Marshall Scott Welsh rules in his stead.

December 27th, 2007: Emergency Re-Election - With no sign of MacMillan, an election takes place. Tom White, a friend of the PM, is elected in a landslide victory.

March, 2008: Liberation - A relief force sets sail for the nation of Mereshka, to defend newly appointed Empress Saya Mereshka and her people against an invasion by Red Tidean forces

Bedivere Tower & Excalibur
- A massive tower at the heart of the Vapourfield Glacier, Excalibur is the crown jewel of President Foulke's achievements. Bedivere Tower (http://images.wikia.com/acecombat/images/a/a5/Lex006a0604189gv.jpg) houses Excalibur (http://images.wikia.com/acecombat/images/3/34/Lex006b0604185rl.jpg), a High Power Free Electron Anti-Missile Laser System (HPFEAMLS). At it's peak it stands at over 2,700 feet high, and is surrounded by anti-aircraft guns, missile batteries, laser batteries and even it's own army, including over 100 Titan Main Battle Tanks. The base is currently under the command of Colonel Vladimir Kamarov. The tower itself is surrounded by over 2000 solar panels, which produce the electricity needed to fire the laser.

The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse
- Another elite squdron, the Horsemen (as they are commonly called) are defenders of Bedivere Tower. Their details were expunged from military records, and now go only by their callsigns. Their prototype aircraft bear no markings, and are painted jet black. They are:

Project Abraham was a secret experiment to try and create the perfect soldiers. Headed by Colonel Grant Thompson, a former army commander, the experiments were conducted in the Noah's Ark Facility just of the coast of Northern Ustio. The test originally began as scientists began to examine the H5S2N1 Virus, or Hemato Virus in 1974.

After numerous tests, it was discovered that after a person becomes infected with the virus, the following 24 hours are critical. If the subject was to become stressed or angry during those 24 hours, the virus would cause an immense rage in them, often leading to massive heart failure. However, subjects showed no physical signs of having contracted the virus. If they remained calm, they generally lived. After the first 24 hours, subjects began to exhibit strange attributes - Psychokinesis, Pyrokinesis, Spontanious Regeneration and others. It was also noted that in the first 24 hours, the virus changes from a virus and to a gene, which effecively gave the sufferers an extra strand in the DNA code, changing their bodies.

After the unusual attributes began to show, most subjects survived up to six weeks, at which point, they began to either die suddenly, or spontaniously mutate.

The mutations were scientifically amazing. Over the course of two hours after when death would normally have occurred, the subject generally grew two more pairs of eyes. After that, the mutation was more violent. Subjects teeth began to grow at an alarming rate, their eyes turned jet black, their skin turned grey and leathery, they grew to size of almost eight feet in just under an hour and their hands had three fingers and a thumb rather than four. To top all of this, the mutated exhibited amazing strength and spontanious regeneration.

Having seen the second part of the infection, Colonel Thompson tasked a group of scientists to investigate if the virus could be altered to retain the shape and mind of a human, along with unusual attributes it bestowed on the victim. After 13 years, they finally had a successful test subject. Subject X showed the strength and regeneration of the late stage of mutation, but still remained physically human and still remained in a state of sanity.

The Project continued, despite the President being unaware of its existance. Since Subject X, only three more Subjects were successful in retaining their sanity, physical appearance and attributes.

Subject X-2 was the attempt at replicating Subject X, a Super-Soldier. One who needed no medical care and could carry even the heaviest weapons with ease.

Subject Y was an attempt to create the perfect spy. He showed Psychokinesis, Invisibility, Phasing and other attributes.

Subject Z's records were completely lost. His abilities are currently unknown.

All dissapeared after a break in at the facility, which was attributed to a terrorist group. The rescue was actually masterminded by Colonel Vladimir Kamarov, current Base Commander of Bedivere Tower.

Since the subjects went missing, few tests have been successful at the facility.

due to the poor reliability in full automatic fire, relatively small (by machine guns standards) magazine capacity and the lack of quick detachable barrels.

OOC: Sorry to intrude and risk hijacking a thread, but the L86 is a fair weapon if it's properly maintained. The A2 upgrade program improved reliability a fair bit. As for the sustained fire aspect, it accepts any STANAG magazine, so the C-Mag could give it more ammo.

They're both good points, but the weapon itself is arguably the most accurate LSW around. In fact, the British Army have shifted its use to be more of a marksman's rifle because of this.

On the whole it's a good choice for light support and is something a little different, although since it's in use with my nations forces, I may be biased ;)
