OOC: Take the role as a citizen of Orbath, ask some questions as a reporter or pledge support. Do whatever as long as you vote!

Candidates

Current President Andrew Jackson
Jackson has served two terms of five years already and is looking to serve a third. He is credited with bringing the nation out of isolation and turning it into an ''economic paradise.'' He is well liked by environmentalists for his efforts in ensuring the environment is protected, despite the economic expansion. He is also credited with establishing ties with several nations. He is criticized with establishing ties with Stoklomolvi, which certain groups are against, with raising taxes, with being highly militaristic and with getting Orbath involved in the Cripistan conflict, which many say was a lost cause and is bringing the nation down. Mr. Jackson pledges to work to lower taxes, continue to increase Orbath's economic growth and remain in Orbath.

Foreign Minister James Andrews
Andrews got into politics at a young age. He has since served one term on the Northern Province Council and three terms as Foreign Minister, two for the current President and one for a former President. He hopes to be able to form more diplomatic ties, increase trade, create a more effective military and get the soldiers out of Cripistan.

Councilor Adam Britton
A bright man and former soldier, Britton served in the military as an infantry officer for 15 years. Upon discharge, he saw what former soldiers were going through and looked to politics to help change this. He has since served two terms as a provincial councilor and is credited with keeping two military hospitals open. He wants to open more hospitals, raise taxes, provide more funding to the military and increase its size. Some speculate that this might include mandatory military service for teens. In the past he has hinted towards deploying more soldiers to Cripistan and many think this would cause the Orbathian economy to crumble.

The Errikan Empire is interested in the positions of the candidates on some major issues. Foremost amongst these are free trade, specifics of foreign policy, and their opinions of the Empire.

Current President Andrew Jackson

''I am for free trade, however only if it is with close allies. I hope to be able to encourage the establishment of embassies, trade agreements and military pacts and or base exchanges. I do not wish to comment on my position at this time.''

Foreign Minister James Andrews

''I am for free trade, especially with allies. I believe it will help get us out of this economic ''rut'' we are sure to get in if we don't get out of this Cripistan mess. As for diplomacy, I would like to see more embassy exchanges, trade agreements, research agreements and grants, a possible joint space program and a military training exchange program. As for my position on the empire, I believe you would make the empire could become a good friend of Orbath, should we quit butting heads over this situation in Cripistan.''

Councilor Adam Britton

''I am against free trade, except with military ''friends''. I'd like to see more military alliances and the establishment of foreign bases and hospitals. My position on the empire is that it should back down and leave Cripistan to us.

Stoklomolvi believes that one can always use aid, and will donate $250 billion for your cause. In addition, we will be donating forty five quantum computers for you and others' use, as well as a case of liquefied helium for certain...random purposes. If you do not want helium, then we can send you a Bose-Einstein concentrate. If not that, we will instead send an extra $150 billion. How does that sound?

I would like to thank you for this large, large donation. Hopefully this donation will ensure that we become lasting friends and the helium will surely allow me to fill millions of balloons, all to be let loose when I win.

Golugan

The Golugani Empire, despite what a well maintained military may lead you to believe, is a strong supporter of the peaceful resolution of conflicts, as well as economic development. As such, the Foreign Minister's campaign will be receiving financial support from the Empire in the form of 10% of our government waste: Roughly 490 billion dollars.

To Golugan

I would like to thank you for supporting me in this election. It is good to see someone shares my ideals. Should I be elected, I would love to meet with you to discuss future relations.

Current Prime Minister Andrew Jackson

I have nothing against socialism, though it is not my cup of tea so to speak. I believe we have begun to forge a lasting relationship between our two nations.

Foreign Minister James Andrews

I do not believe in socialism, however, I will interact with any government type, including a dictatorship, so long as they practice basic human rights. I believe our two nations can and will become close allies. I can say that you are one of very few nations that I would ever want to engage in military exercises with. Should I be elected, I would be very interested in obtaining military equipment from you in the future, possibly a soldier and base exchange and future training programs and military exercises.

Councilor Adam Britton

To be honest, I do not like your nation, and those it allies itself with. If I had my way, your troops would never have set foot in our nation. We do not need your help and we should not offer ours to you.

OOC: Depending on which person is elected, my nation is going to change. I don't want that to sway the votes, so I haven't posted what will happen. If you interested, T'G me. I would like to have two of the three outcomes involve you if possible.
