We Cleanse Our Fate (FT, intro)

Ur-Quan Hierarchy

These.. insolent rats are merely keeping us from our conflict.

Yes, Lord 109. The Shofixti are most tenacious.

They refuse to surrender. Can they not see the boon we offer them? Are they blind, Lord 56?

No, merely foolish. No matter. The Yehat have already retreated, and the Shofixti vessels are no match for our Dreadnoughts. Overwhelming them shall be a matter of minutes.

Lord 109 spoke, and his Talking Pet, the small, frog-like creature, translated his words from his ship to another.

I am curious. When we defeated the Arilou squadron at Draco, you discover a device. Where is it?

Aboard my ship. It is a.. curiosity, and I wish to investigate it further.

Ah. It is of no incident, then? Let us continue our work.

The Shofixti were certainly a brave people - the tiny, suicidal Scouts stood no chance against the mighty Dreadnoughts of the Ur-Quan. Almost three hundred had participated in this final assault, this last holdout of the Alliance of Free Stars. Once the Shofixti fell, they would be able to return to the Doctrinal Conflict. The Kohr-Ah had recently returned to this sector of the galaxy, having conducted their "Eternal Doctrine", while travelling through the galaxy, counter-clockwise.

The Ur-Quan, in turn, had been enslaving races, as was their desire. Their belief. Their gift. The Shofixti were the last to fall, and, as the marsupials mustered their final defense, Lords 109 and 56 debated what would happen as the Shofixti fell. Either they would be imprisoned upon their homeworld as fallow slaves, or they would join the Ur-Quan as willing Battle Thralls. It was the choice they gave to every race upon that race's defeat.

Here, though, it would not come to pass. As the Ur-Quan raced towards the homeworld of the Shofixti, a massive Precursor antimatter bomb was thrown into the sun of the Shofixti, a tremendously oversized "Glory Device", as the Shofixti knew suicide.

The sun exploded with catastrophic fury, immense power sweeping over the system. The Ur-Quan dreadnoughts were no match for such a weapon, and collapsed, one by one, under the sheer, titanic power the sun had become.

One, however, did not. Lord 56's ship was hit by a wave of energy, and then glowed - for an instant. The Arilou device aboard it shone brightly, and a bubble of blue energy was projected around the ship, enveloping four other Dreadnoughts. They disappeared. Like every other ship in the system, they were believed to have been destroyed.

But they were not. As the device shimmered, the world changed, and, as the fury of the exploding sun disappeared, the five dreadnoughts reappeared above a new world. A world that was free of Shofixti.

Lord 56 stared at his sensors in disbelief, unable to comprehend it. They should've been dead. Yet they were not. Where were they? Within an instant, he recognized the species below him on the world.

Humans.

This was.. unfamiliar. Earth had suffered the slave shield in return for its insolence in the First War - all other human colonies had been eradicted, as far as he knew. Peculiar indeed. Yet the Path of Now and Forever was to be followed.

Humanity had already made its choice. The slave shield needed to be erected. The Dreadnought moved into position above the human world, slave-manned fighters blowing satellite out of existence.

The sky pulsed, and then slowly faded to red, the once clear-blue view of Junei encased in an impenetrable shield.

You have been judged, humans. Your people have lost the war. You are to be fallow slaves, never again to challenge the Ur-Quan.

Lord 56 prodded his Talking Pet into action.

Lord 109, I do not know what has happened. The stellar cartography is.. unknown to me.

Let us find a world, and claim it for our own, then. The Arilou device is gone. I suspect it has.. done something. Those creatures are well-known for their manipulation of the walls between dimensions. If this is some.. Arilou trickery, designed to hide humanity from us, we must not allow it to continue. We will build a fleet, and, if no contact with the Hierarchy can be made, we will establish our own Hierarchy. The Path of Now and Forever must always be followed.

Of course, Lord 109.

The dialogue had ended, thankfully. The feeling of threat, of anger that arose when talking to another Ur-Quan had been removed. But the universe they were in was not their own. This was later to be discovered. For now, Junei would serve as a base for the Ur-Quan. If any were to stumble upon the human colony, they would find no way to communicate with it, and Ur-Quan to contend with..

The blue flash came again in the Junei system, except, this time, it was not an Ur-Quan Dreadnought. The squat Dreadnought, normally named a Planetary Siege Unit, was no match for what had just appeared. A Kohr-Ah Marauder, floating in space, seemingly readied for battle.

A Kohr-Ah Marauder! It is here, no doubt, to carry out their vile "Eternal Doctrine". We shall destroy it.

Yet the Marauder made no move, for, in transition to this universe, it had suffered terrible damage. The single Kohr-Ah aboard it had been slain, and, in a peculiar move, Lord 56 made a decision.

We shall salvage it. It, like our ships, should have self-destructed should it suffer capture. No doubt a captured Kohr-Ah Marauder could give us much information - information we could use in the Doctrinal War

Still, it was peculiar. Junei had been a thriving trade-world. Why was there no interest in what had happened to it?

The shredder class frigate " Beyond hope" exited hyper space as it saw the new vessle, it hailed them.

" New race, we are the Alliance of Imitated Worlds, designate yourselfs."

The frigat was dwarfed, but still held steady.

Excelsior Class Battleship, Titanic
The Titanic was one of the most advanced ships in the Pratese Fleet. While it was designated as a Battleship it was actually an assault carrier that could also carry numerous military grade support craft and newly developed humanoid robots called mechas.
It has the bulky look of Ancient starships and yet also had an elegance not found in many Ancient starships with its mix of straight and curved lines. Its design was not all that dissimilar from the Asgard ships produced by the allies of the ancients.
At the rear a single large drive propelled the ship at segnificant fractions of the speed of light. It glowed yellow as the ship dropped out of subspace in space near the other two ships. Their mission was first contact, two unknown races that could both potentially serve as allies, but also as enemies.

Thus it sent out this message:
to the Unknown ships
We are the Pratese Empire. Please state your intentions in this sector.

The "Beyond Hope" powerd down shields.

" We....are waiting captain"

On board Alliance Marines grabbed Plasma-ray guns, and Black Insurgents loaded frost Beam rifles. They ran down the hall way as Blue alert was sounded(battle alert). The ships internal tempature was -2 degrees, the enemy would have a fun time inside, they would either be killed, or join the Alliance.

We are the Ur-Quan. Your submission is required. If it is not given, we will take it from you.

Lord 56's weapons powered up, and slaves were sent to the fighter-pods. They would discover what this new race was, and then, if it was indeed different from the other races so-far enslaved, they would be given the choice.

The I.S.S. War Hawk (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Xharnia/ImperialFrigate.png) was an Imperial Frigate assigned to scouting the outer reaches of this galaxy. The goal was simple to find new systems for expansion for the Holy Star Imperium of Deatharon. The Deatharoni had long been a warlike a combative people that had formed their own Star Empire after leaving the Earth at least a century ago.

The War Hawk continued to follow their flight plan when an interesting reading came up on the long range sensors. The sensors had picked up a star going nova and vaporizing all in it’s path. The sensors also detected mass amounts of weapons energy signatures which meant that fighting was engaged around that area…

The Captain of the War Hawk, Marius Von Nathenheim decided to investigate this event to see if it could be for the Imperium’s advantage. The frigate promptly cloaked and opened an artificial rift into subspace or a wormhole and headed towards the system in question….

The sight Captain Marius and his crew would see would frighten them, The sight of five unknown dreadnoughts appeared in front of them on the view screen. The Captain held his breath and ordered his crew to maintain the cloaking field to hopefully prevent being detected by the alien force.

The shredder raised shields and began to charge weapons.

" We are one, you can be to."

It responded to the other vessels in the area.

" Greetings, we are the Alliance of Imitated Worlds, we come in peace."

New slaves. Perhaps their submission was a lie. No matter. When the remainder of the aliens were dealt with, they would ensure the submission of all aboard that ship.

I am no captain. I am Ur-Quan. We am your new masters. You will do as I command. Take your ship into orbit of the nearby planet. There, other slaves will examine it.

More ships. A "Pratese Empire.". A second message was sent out, similiar to the first.

State your race. Your ship does not respond to standard Hierarchy transmission codes, and has been deemed to be.. independent. This is unacceptable. You will submit.

It is interesting to watch the mortals. Knowing that they can die puts an urgency to their actions that I no longer possess. The memories of my mortality are fast fading, I find - time stretches into time, the "days" all seem the same to me. The only thing I can do now is wander the void of time and space, and try to stave off the one thing that may drive me mad - boredom. - Journals of the Last Minbari

The Master was the last Minbari left in the universe - his ship alone survived the great Time War with an ancient evil, and he, and his ship, were irreparably changed. The Master could no longer die. He could be "killed", yes, momentarily for the least, but he would always come back. He has starved on a moon of Alpha Centauri, been shot in Ancient Earth, vaporized, you name it, he has been killed by it. But he has always come back. He did not know how long he would be this way. His belief was that he would survive until the end of Time and maybe afterwards.

His ship was nothing much to speak about - for the time period, it was a fairly middling single-man cruiser. Advanced AI reduced the need for a crew to just one - the Master. He could travel through time and space with barely a whisper between, but he was not an army. He was very much aware the risk of his ship being destroyed and him being stranded in this primitive time period. His ship spoke to him - in the ancient Minbari tongues, it told him that there was a great disturbance in the fabric of the universe near it.

The Master responded Go to it. Keep us hidden - we'd best not surprise people that may be able to blow us away.

Yes, my master.

The ship phased out of Time and began hurtling through the Void to where the new people, these "Ur-Quan" were. The ship was hidden for the moment - the Master was ready to change that at any time, and run if he needed to. He knew when to fight, and when to flee.

Captain Antilles dropped communications and turned to his security chief and snapped his fingers.

the security chief nodded " cloaking sir"

Before the ship went invisible it fired two Plasma torpedos at the lead ship, no doubt the frigates firepower was ridiculasly small, but the torpedes would cause some damage.

Lord 56 felt no emotion at the defiance. It had happened thousands of times before. Either the race before them would serve them as Battle Thralls, or they would be forever imprisoned upon a single world, under the bloody glow of a slave shield.

Your independence is intolerable. Submit, or we will destroy your ship.

It was the last warning that would be given. Five Ur-Quan Dreadnoughts, along with full fighter complements, were readied. The enemy would not long withstand their firepower.

The I.S.S. War Hawk upon receiving the transmission from the Ur-Quan Dreadnought decided to make a silent run out of the system.

The cloaked ship continued to head towards the outer reaches of this star system to get within range to open up another artificial wormhole. The goal was simple to jump out at nearby system to send for help from the Imperium. It would be interesting to see if the Ur-Quan could pick up and catch the cloaked frigate in time....

OOC: My ship would have probably picked up the transmission considering the proximity of our ships and the fact that he is saying that independence is not acceptable leads my crew on the I.S.S. War Hawk to believe that these dreadnoughts are not friendly to outside races.

This is why my ship is trying to sneak away before the big dreadnoughts decide to vaporize a single scout frigate that is trying to hide, and dash away, with a Romulan like cloaking field....

The ships plasma shields lit up as the fire power came in, after about 7 seconds of firing the frigate was gone, the chrome painted " Beyond Hope" really lived up to its name, its signature was lost to the Alliance fleet, which would soon come to investigate.

IC:

Normally the Galactic Republic strayed from scouting sectors outside its borders. It wasn't in the code of the Grand Republic Navy to just intrude upon the sovereign territories of other empires for the sake of scientific research. But in the case of unclaimed sectors, all bets were on historic findings. Such was the case for this sector, deemed Gamma 45, was thought to have many unclaimed planets that could be used for outposts.

And such was the case of why a Republic ship would be here. After many months of hard labor, a planet twenty light years away had been established as a Military First-Alert Outpost It was a frozen world, so hiding structures would be easy. After a successful mission of resupplying the outpost, the Aries-Class Heavy Cruiser (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Drakomis/Anagonian%20Ships/Valiantcruiser.jpg) Greater Freedom was ready to call its twelve month mission quits so its crew could get some much needed rest back in the Empire-Provinces.

As usual for a Republic Mission, no perfect assignment ever had a happy ending.

Space seemed to fold itself inward, slowly. A section of stars seemed to warp to the center of a strange anomaly, which slowly grew into what seemed to be the birth of a black hole. Slowly, however, an ever-0expanding light engulfed the anomaly and exploded in a flash. In its place, the Greater Freedom, moving at a slow pace towards its next jump point. Sub-space drives were currently recharging, so it would take a while before they made their way back to the Republic.

On the Bridge, Captain Samuel Gauss watched patiently the ship stats coming up on his holographic display. Sitting in his Captains Chair, he easily pressed a few buttons on his armrest console to call up the sub-space drives. It would take at least four hours for them to fully recharge, not including the Hydrogen Reactors. He sighed.

"Navigation, give me a reading already!" Samuel groaned, hating these times between jumps. Nothing ever worked on an aging Cruiser like the Greater Freedom. Finally, after a moments wait, the sensor hologram came up in front of him. To his dismay, it said loading.

"What the hell?! This isn't some outdated operating system! Get me some damn readings!"

The crew on the bridge hurried their duties to comply. It was very unusual for the Captain to verbally demand orders during duty hours. The newly installed hologram network was supposed to make verbal orders outdated, except in times of crises or emergencies, thus eliminating the need for the stress factor on long-haul missions. Supposed to was the keyword. And keywords never fit.

"Readings online, Captain." The Tactical Officer looked to her Captain and shrugged, "Fusion Cores drained from the last jump. Couldn't help it."

"Ah, well, stuff breaks down I suppose." He went back to concentrating on the hologram in front of him, sighing in relief as a sensor log came up showing plenty of unknown ships. "Well crap."

"Orders, sir?" Samuels Second-in-Command walked beside his station, looking at the hologram. Samuel looked up towards him. "Bring the ships defenses online, and start transmitting friendly Galactic Friend or Foe signals. I want everyone to know we ain't here for a battle."

"Aye, sir."

Samuel changed the display to orders, and was relieved to find his command sent throughout all stations. The ships Electro-Magnetic shield came online, instantly creating a gentle Aura Borialis display that seemed like colorful clouds of gas floating around the ship. The Fusion Reactors, now recharged by command, reacted to powering the Ion Cannons and Projection Weapons on the aging cruiser. All Fighters were alerted, with whatever contingent they had.

"Helm, keep us a steady course to our Nav Point. I want to get out of here as quickly as possible." He looked on his display to see the order acknowledged, and sat back in his chair. He didn't expect any display of hostilities here. After all, they were just passing through.

OOC: Deatharon, the Ur-Quan have not yet noticed you. Since you came in cloaked, and didn't come close, they didn't bother investigating. Not with other, uncloaked, potential slaves to dominate.

You cannot hide. Had you hid at first, perhaps. You will be destroyed for your disobedience. Surrender now, and you may yet be spared.

Fighters sped out of the dreadnought, each fighter targeting a torpedo, blowing it to shreds. With that, they returned to Lord 56's Dreadnought. The slaves manning the fighters had no real desire to serve, rather, their craft did not have enough life-support to keep them alive beyond two or three attack runs.

The five Dreadnoughts fired, tracking the cloaked ship's position, immense blasts hitting where it was going to be, aimed carefully, the white-hot power of their guns thrown out towards the rebellious ship.

Master, the ships identifying themselves as Ur-Quan are opening fire on a small, cloaked -- oh Master, I must apologize, the cloaked destroyed has just been, well, destroyed by the Ur-Quan. Another smaller vessel has disappeared, and I'm catching another ship entering the system. My, my, this is going to be fun, won't it, Master? the ship spoke to him. The ship's computer, like everything else, had undergone many changes in the millenia it had wandered the universe, and it was currently in an upbeat, jokester persona. The Master liked this - it kept him some form of company.

Well..I cannot permit innocents of this galaxy to be killed by intruders from another time. Do we have a better reading on the Ur-Quan ships?

That we do, Master - The Ur-Quan are using what appear to be low-grade plasma cannon as their primary weapons. Their fighters contain the same, but until we drop out of phase and actually do an active scan I can't tell any more. I could be completely wrong for all I know, as long as we're not in phase with them. What I can tell, though, is that they found that cloaked ship through what appear to be displacement sensors. They can't see us as long as we're out of phase.

...right, right. Drop us into phase, raise the shields, arm the guns, what-have-you. Open a channel to the Ur-Quan that all sentient beings in this sector are under our protection. Mention the great and mighty Minbari Federation and it's massive fleet of warships. We'll bluff them into retreat, hopefully, and if not...well, we'll get to that later I suppose..

The Master sighed. He was letting himself get to the level of these mortals in their space - he was preparing to get into a slugfest with technologically inferior people, but he was outnumbered, if not outgunned. They could put some damage on his ship that would take ages to repair, that he could easily afford, but he needed to keep moving.

The ship entered phase with the rest of the universe, and raised it's shields. A bluish tinge surrounded it, gently pushing away stray atoms of hydrogen, space junk, everything around it. The cruiser Serenity itself was tiny in comparison to the much, much larger Ur-Quan dreadnoughts, but what it lacked in size (and, well, numbers), it made up for in technology. The Master was from thousands and thousands of years in the future from these people, and he had technology well and beyond what nearly anyone had.

Not that that made him invincible. The Master may not be able to die, but his ship can, and what good is a time-traveller without his time machine?

Ur-Quan Dreadnoughts. All sentient beings in this sector are under my protection. Stand down immediately or face retribution from the Minbari Federation.

Another message, this time, from Lord 56, lanced out across the stars towards the Anagonians.

"What the hell is going on out there..."

Samuel heard one of his officers sentences trail off. Confused, he turned up the sensor display. He observed a ship being blown to smithereens, and one ship being attacked by a larger one. The Active/Passive Microwave Sensors weren't up to par yet, as having just recovered from the tremendous disturbance of Sub-Space Travel. So it was making it hard to discern how many ships were involved. He grumbled.

"Commander Richardson, give me an estimate here." Samuel started to put trackers on a few units that the sensor system made out, which the Sensor Officer then complied to start tracking. His Second-in-Command, Thomas Richardson, came up beside the Captains Chair. "I estimate were screwed if we do anything, Captain." A sly smile, then the Commander went back to reviewing the Sector Chart Table behind the Captains chair.

Well, he got his estimate. Better not be stupid and risk his crew. After all, they weren't here to do anything but go home. Why should they get involved? They just risked their lives on a frozen world on a resupply mission. What made this sector so special?

Then again, as Samuel thought about it, this was kinda Anagonian territory in a loose sense of the term. He made a note in the hologram program to send the information to Naval Command. Certainly they shouldn't be the ones to investigate it. Pulling up the communications log of the sector only confirmed his notions. Whomever these people were, they were psychopathic. No telling what technology they employed to enslave people. He grumbled, raised an eyebrow, and shook his head.

Just stay on course, he assured himself. Just stay on course.

More ships. The confusion was becoming overwhelming. There were a certain number of races within the galaxy. The Ur-Quan had enslaved most of them - the Kohr-Ah had slaughtered the others. This situation simply should not exist. Nevertheless, there was only one choice. To stand down would invalidate the Path of Now and Forever.

You are incorrect. All sentient beings in this sector are under our protection. The slavery we are to grant them is aa boon. In time, they will come to appreciate it, and even love us for it.

Too many ships. Too few Ur-Quan ships. Lord 56 slowed to a halt. They would deal with these threats two at a time. First, the Anagonian and Minbari ships. Then any others that would appear. The Ur-Quan were unfamiliar with the notion of 'compromise', a notion many other races held to. In this scenario, it would be to their disadvantage.

Captian Samuel Gauss looked wide-eyed at the transmission directed at him and his crew. This was unacceptable. If they wanted to play hardball with two pathetic dreadnoughts, he could do that. He sent an alert for all crew and systems to go to red. All power to weapons, shields, and engines. In the Darkness of space, the Greater Freedom sped towards the oncoming threat. Torpedo tubes were loaded with Burrow Nukes, designed to plow through shields and implant themselves inside the armor to use the oxygen supply as a catalyst for a atomic reaction. The Aries-Class Heavy Cruiser would definitely put up a fight now.

Samuel pulled up a reply message to the challenge:

Your Technological and Cultural Achievements shall become one of us,
Your lack of thinking shall be casted out,
Your numbers shall be obliterated,
Resistance is Futile,

The I.S.S. War Hawk managed to escape outside of the system and at the same time sent out a wide range communication back to Imperial Space. It would be interesting once the Imperial Star Navy responded to this threat that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere…

This is the I.S.S. War Hawk requesting Imperial assitance in subduing an enemy fleet that has been detected. This transmission shall have coordinates encrypted below…..

The message was sent out faster than the speed of light towards the nearest Imperial outpost along the frontier. It would be immediately relayed to the Imperial Star Navy and a task force would be designated to help subdue the enemy forces in the sector…

An interesting argument. We have no concern for the freedom of other races. The Path of Now and Forever is designed to preserve the freedom of Ur-Quan, and the lives of other species. It is beneficial to both. Our destruction would be preferable to being enslaved once more. Only through Ur-Quan dominance can we ensure our own freedom. Now. You will submit. Or we will destroy you.

Anagonia:

There were many targets. The Anagonians, however, seemed to be a prime target. Fighters were readied, other weaponry prepared. Strangely enough, however, no attack was launched.

Lord 56. The sum total of enemy ships is possibly enough to overwhelm our own.

Perhaps. Move your Dreadnoughts back. We will attempt to engage the enemy one at a time. Do not fall within range unless it is absolutely necessary. I desire to know more of this place before combat. Learn, and then we shall fight. The knowledge these.. Minbari have of the Ur-Quan is somewhat unsettling.

They did not want war. That, however, was not the point. The Ur-Quan were well experienced in disregarding the desires of other races.

Whether you wish war or not is irrelevent. Will you submit?

Now, though, the Dreadnoughts crowded closer together, as if trying to shut out the universe. It was not that the Path of Now and Forever had failed, but rather, their lack of knowledge of this place. They were not frightened - merely cautious. To engage any of the ships now would expose their flanks vulnerable to attack from other quarters. They would wait, momentarily, spurred on by the words of the Minbari. The information the tiny craft had, and, more importantly, how it had acquired that information, was crucial for the Ur-Quan to know.

OOC: Yeah, I thought about that, but considering how much fapping the Master is as a character already, having him instantly know The Words would be a bit much. That and I barely remember the words myself - something like "Hold! Why do you do this to us? This is wrong!"? Eh. That, and your lot isn't Kohr-Ah so it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

You must understand your folly, Ur-Quan. I have lived for six thousand years, seen the destruction of a hundred races, watched war after war. There is no constant in this universe but Death and War, but I am living proof against the former. Your people overthrew their masters, only for you to become the masters of others in your galaxy. I did not intervene then, although it may have been a mistake not to. Stand down or face destruction - you are no longer in your home, Ur-Quan, and I can help you start a new beginning - or I can bring about your deaths. I am the Master. Your Path of Now and Forever is irrelevant.

His ship began maneuvering into gun range of the closest Ur-Quan dreadnought, largely bluffing - even with the odds of the other ships, the Serenity could not tell if they were friends, possible foes, or even worthwhile combatants against the gargantuan Dreadnoughts. All he could do is bluff the Ur-Quan into retreat - and then chase them down himself, drive them back to their own galaxy and keep them there.

The Augusta Task Force was designated to combat the alien threat that had been detected by the I.S.S War Hawk. The Augusta Task Force was lead by Lady Commodore Violet Van Garrett a minor backwater baroness that achieved her position through ruthless determination and cold calculation.

The Lord Adrimal of the 1st Imperial Star Fleet had personally given her the orders to cleanse the sector of the Ur-Quan threat. She eagerly did as she was commanded and the task force left their station along the frontier of the Imperium and headed out into the barbaric reaches of the galaxy. They would meet up with the I.S.S. War Hawk and promptly strike at the star system using their numbers and firepower to try and take down the enemy dreadnoughts quickly in a blitzkrieg like attack

The task force opened up the wormhole that would lead them to the enemy, This time they did not come in cloaked, they had their shields raised, and weapons online….

"Helm, make a far pass of the targets."

The ship lurched as the gravity generators compensated for the magnitude of the pressure on the hull. The Greater Freedom turned so it was broadside of the two new threats. The turrets swiveled to match the assumed enemies, keeping track of their positions. A High-Intensity Microwave Sensor Burst was sent out from the now-charged Sensor array. It would span the entire system, placing back signals so the Holograph Projector could assimilate the new data.

All was going to plan, expect for the fact that the unknowns weren't attacking. Samuel wasn't the smartest tactician, but he knew thinking. He assumed that they were playing it safe, waiting for the first action to be taken. He had set the Cruiser to take a circle route around the two ships, making a false perimeter. It was more of a stalking maneuver, letting the enemy know that they were waiting for first blood.

Quickly he pulled up a projection of all Anagonian assets within the sector. Near the planet they had just resupplied, two Blazing Blue class scout ships (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=1103679193&page=1#1121547932) were on patrol. They obviously made home base on the outpost, he assumed he missed them on the last run. Farther out, the Starcarrier (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=1103679193&page=1#1192830627) Enterprise was making a mission run to one of the outer-rim planets of the Republic. Samuel quickly concluded it overkill and disregarded it.

Besides, the nearest was the two scout ships. They could get here almost instantly considering the range, so he assigned them as emergency backup. Everyone else was just too far out.

Along the lines of procedure, he sent a message to Outpost Naval Command to be advised, and forwarded the message to the Republic Naval Command with an attachment of sensor readings.

Attention Outpost Command:

Be advised you are now assigned as backup. We will need you in system within a satisfactory amount of time. Be advised of ship sensor readings. Be advised of new threat. Be advised of naval engagement in process.

Attention Republic Naval Command:

Sensor readings forwarded for review. Advise Starcarrier Enterprise of possible threat. Send reinforcements to Outpost Gamma, and to our Sector, when possible. Be advised of naval engagement in process.

He sighed, no true help. But the scout ships would provide cover for the fighters he could launch. They would be here any time now, considering the distance of transmission and the time of receiving it. He supposed the Enterprise was two days out, and didn't provide hope for it. He would have to inform Naval HQ to make more scouting runs with better ships.

Grumbling about the fact that the Greater Freedom was the best ship in the sector, he concentrated back on the sensor readings. The enemy ships were now concentrating on other targets, leaving their flanks exposed. Still, he wanted to wait for the scout ships. Their fusion cannons would provide quite the irritant to any armor or shield. Their speed, alone, would outrun most beam and projectile attacks.

In a funny twist of thought, he logged up the Borg phrase and sent it to the enemy ships for review. He also sent it over loudspeakers on the bridge. Everyone had a laugh. The Anagonians thought themselves superior, even though they were way outmatched.

((you know..... saying that you want everyone to submit isn't the best way of making allies out here... I also gave up on NFT tech since I always ended up getting conquered with the enemy taking minimal losses...))

The Titanic has refused to reply to the arrogant message of the unknown race. Instead it just loomed there silently watching the unfolding calamity of this unknown race.

[Bridge of The Titanic]

"The unknown alien ship (or is it fleet.... too confusing to follow) is under attack from multiple races. Their priorities have shifted from us to the other races." The crew looked on the battle silently.

"They have technically declared war on us have they now?" asked the captain.

"No, sir, their message of submission corresponds to an ultimatum. Such an ultimatum is responsible and we now technically have Casus belli against the unknown race of the ship." The captain thought.

"Bring all weapons to full, divert power from unneeded sections to shields and weapons as per Battle Status Mode 12b. Send a Message to the High Command saying that we are now at war with an unknown nation. Target the enemy and fire at will." All the orders were carried out through the neural network and the ship was now in combat. The message was quickly received by three other battleship that would soon arrive in the area.

[Space]
The Singular Pratese Battleship continued on toward the enemy. It began firing its long range weapons, Drones which had been reverse engineered from ancient designs. The drones moved on toward the enemy continuourly analyzing the enemy shields for weak points or if the shields used the reduculously ineffective frequency oscillation principle. It would strike either at the shields should they not have a frequency or modulate the frequency of the shielding projected by the drones to match the enemy frequency. In either option the weakest point of the shields would be struck.
The drones impacted the enemy ship, countless drones each delivering several kilotons of energy to the shields, or if the penetrated the shields, the ship.
The Pratese ship moved forwards and soon its main particle weapons would come into range.

"It is interesting to see how the mortals interact with each other, my friend. They constantly war with each other, trying to seek dominance over each other. If only they knew of the existence we have, they would never war again.-Breanna, Matriach of the Ascendancy.

The battle occurring between the Ur-Quan and the other races did not escape the notice of the Ascendants. In fact, the Ascendants had been to the dimension the Ur-Quan were from several times, only to keep tabs on the Ur-Quan and ensure they were not close enough to coming to attack the Ascendants. As long as they were happy dominating their own dimension, the Ascendants could care less. Not that they liked it, but they could only do so much themselves.

However, when the Ur-Quan fleet appeared in this dimension, action was immediately taken. A single Ascendant cruiser, the Fearless, edged closer to the battle, its crew watching the battle. They were, as was the Ascendant way, using their natural energy forms to possess the ships. This reduced the size of the ship considerably, allowing heavy cruiser class weaponry and shields on their ship, while being the size of a destroyer. Of course, their weaponry and strength went beyond the normal standards, with their technology and focusing of their resources onto small fleet of ships.

So it was that the Fearless calmly watched the battle, securely safe in their phase cloaked. This cloak kept them out of phase with this entire dimension; normal detectors for conventional cloaks would not find them. This utilized dimensional technology, and it required one to somehow get enough data on the phase frequencies, which needed to be taken at the precise point of their uncloaking, and cloaking.

The commander of this ship, Aaer'ka, noticed the powerful psionic aura of the Master. And of the Minbari construction of his ship. She didn't know who this being was,or why he had a Minbari ship, but the transmissions indicated that he intended to keep the peace, and was trying to deflect the Ur-Quan. She decided to hold back, and wait. She would let this being try his diplomacy; if it didn't work, then they'd intervene.

The enemy seemed oddly preoccupied with the other alien fleet and the Lady Commodore saw her chance to inflict some serious damage. She ordered the fighter squadrons to engage the enemy and attempt to make strafing runs on the lead enemy dreadnought.

It has come to my attention that these ships are from a Province in Anagonia. We therefore have rights to them. It is a shame that such a display of political atrocity has occured here, but rest assured all Anagonian Assets will and surely take care of the situation.

To do so, we require all vessels to immedietly stop attacking to allow us to resolve this conflict. We will not go into details, so please refrain from questions. As of right now, this sector is under temporary Republic control. Please cease and stop all hostile actions against our forces.

Samuel was bluffing, of course. But once he got close enough to the remnants of the Ur-Quan fleet, he would Sub-Space towards the Enterprise. There, under the constraint of tractor beams, they wouldn't pose a thread. And, possibly, a new ally could come of this.

He just hoped his bluff worked. The Sub-Space drive was nearly recharged, and with a bubble effect he could take them along for the ride to safety. He, as everyone else, wanted to know more as to why they wanted to enslave everyone. If he could, he'd find out on his own turf.

Whether we few win or lose makes no difference. Inevitably, all shall fall to the Ur-Quan. In time, you will come to understand this. There are no other options.

Another Dreadnought buckled under the strain, and, still, the Ur-Quan fought on.

Lady Commodore Violet smiled and said, "I must commend them, They are definitely not cowards!"

She hit the button and gave the order for full attack on the weakening Dreadnought. The Augusta Taskforce once again began it's assault using particle cannons and plasma torpedoes.

The fighters ran there strafing runs while trying to avoid the enemy fighters. The Augusta’s point defense system continued to hound the enemy fighters, as the circular Deatharoni formation started to move closer towards the enemy fleet to get them within point blank range of the enemy vessels…

But the Cruiser was faster. It's engines were placing max output to race towards the ailing slaver ships. They would die soon, and all hope of finding the truth would be lost. Somehow, Samuels train of thought went from giving up, to wanting to save them. He didn't know why, or how. All he knew was that they needed to be saved. Something needed to be done.

The distance between his ship and the Augusta Taskforce was growing unwelcomingly thin. In a few moments, he would reach them, ignite his Sub-Space drive, and take them to safety. Sure, he could die, his ship could die, but they wouldn't kill a Starcarrier.

The Alliance fleet seemed to have them, they continued to open up with Plasma-rays and plasma torpedoes and nukes. The Alliance fleet didnt pay much attention to the other races in the area, due to them not being hostile. The Chrome fleet looked like ornaments in space, blue rays streaked out to meet the Ur-Quan.

And that this point in the encounter, the Aries-Class Heavy Cruiser had nearly sped towards the Uri-Quan fleet. It's Sub-Space drive was starting to activate, making space around it warp as if a black hole was starting to consume the ship. Light was dragged in, stars seemed to twirl around, and ever mile they approached the anomaly increased in intensity. Ships around the vicinity would notice the huge increase in gravitational and radiation intensities. Sparks of what looked like lightning shot out to touch any metal nearby, any ship it passed. Undoubtedly the Alliance ships and the Deatharon fleet would have sparks flying on their hull, creating a spectacular stellar light show. The EM Shields would intensify this effect, making a beautiful display of weird and odd effects.

The anomaly slowly engulfed the Uri-Quan ships, the Heavy Cruiser nearing the point of departure from this sector. Captain Samuel Holloway had to get it just right, else he'd take the other races ships with him, and possibly split them in the process of entering the Sub-Space dimension.

The called for pratese ships, another five battleships, entered the system in prearranged positions. Immediately they sent out drones. The personality of these drones had been altered to avoid enemy fire and increase survival rate. (really.... some of the drones I sent had to hit.... they are semi-intelligent) These yellow drones sped towards the five ships and the unknown ship in the middle that would undoubtedly get caught in the crossfire. Meanwhile the original pratese ship, shields starting to lose power, left the system with all speed to allow nanites to repair the entirety of the ship.

As people would note, a pitch black vessel had suddenly appeared as though from nothing. It would look as though it was badly battered by countless battles, but it still, somehow, held together. Green flames came forth from the ship's back, obviously propelling the vessel forward. The Ur-Quan Kzer-Za would, most likely, identify it as a Marauder.

The being inside the vessel felt intense pain, something he... It... Had not thought it was capable of feeling.

"... I remember,", it stated, "They are Ur-Quan... They are... Us. But not. They are... Kzer-Za. We are... Yes... We are Kohr-Ah!"

It shrieked in pain.

"Death... Clouded... Our senses. Our minds. We had forgotten."

It gazed upon the green Dreadnought. Memories continued to flood the dead creature's mind.

"No more... No more."

"The Path of Now and Forever... Yes. It must continue."

As the creature went through its memories, the vessel remained stationary. Whether others would see it as a threat or not did not matter. All that mattered were the memories of old.

It is a horrible mistake to come close to a fully armed Marauder, although it was very likely that the North Calaveran forces did not know this. It looked battered, yes, but it was not weakened. It was the basic look of all ships used by the undead of the Ashen Empire, although the Marauders had a similar look to begin with.

Indeed, even when the Kohr-Ah had lived.

As the Shredder frigate had come quite close to the Marauder and would soon have had the chance to begin boarding maneuvers, the ship activated its F.R.I.E.D. system. It released a quickly expanding ring of super-heated ionized gases which would burn anything in its path. But unlike regular Marauders, there would be a slight twist to it - it was tainted with the unholy energies of the Underworld, giving it a strange decaying effect. So, not only would it burn things before it, but it would also make them seem to age most rapidly.

But even after doing thus, the vessel remained stationary.

The AIW Shredder turned as the F.R.I.E.D system came online, it was heavily damaged, shields were down, hull damage was almost critical. The shredder hailed, the captain talked while the bridge in the background smoked and rocked.

As the message came, the dead Ur-Quan was not pleased. The voice felt as though it was burning its mind. It unlocked even more of its memories.

It felt the desire to respond.

"Filth. You brought this upon yourselves. You attempted to board this Marauder."

There was a momentary break in the transmission.

Soon, a scream filled the comms.

"Filth. Prepare for the cleansing."

With that, the transmission was cut.

But that was not all, as the so called Alliance fleet would soon realize.

At least a hundred ships appeared the same way as it had. Most were Marauders, which looked much the same as the original vessel. Some were Dreadnoughts which had simply been colored black. More would come if need be. Time had swelled their numbers as the undead of the Ashen Empire had continued building their vessels even after the extermination and technical resurrection of their species.

This fit their return to the old ways quite well. They had regained their long lost driving force.

Soon, gigantic black disks with shuriken-like shapes were launched from the Marauders. They were accompanied by the plasma blasts from the Dreadnoughts, which also were launching masses of fighters. Everything they had was being thrown at the so called Alliance fleet.

Whatever they were, it did not matter to the Kohr-Ah. Only their deaths would.

((OOC: No, it's not, really. The Ur-Quan move in massive droves since they need to kill/enslave everything in their path, and by this time, after making more and more ships for who knows how long, they'd realistically have thousands of ships. This is based on a nation which was absorbed by the Ashen Empire, what, 4 real life years ago? I used to play as Ermor (which I gave out to someone, who TGd me to give the nation back like last month but instead let the nation die when I had replied yes), and EmeriKa is taking its place due to the fact that I can't control Ermor.

Also note that the Marauders and Dreadnoughts are rather crappy ships when you come down to it. No shields, two weapons, hell, one in the case of the Dreadnought with a bunch of very bad fighter craft... And that's it. The main weapons are very potent, sure, but without them... A Marauder can beat you at really close range, but a Dreadnought is defenseless.

And since the Ur-Quan were absorbed by the Ashen Empire, which is, by definition, full military (it's an undead empire bent on extinction on a multiversal level), I'd say a hundred ships is actually kind of small a group. :p ))

OOC: I've read the old Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah RPs, and, to be honest, NC, this nation has a very small population - which is why it has a very small fleet. Five Dreadnoughts. Three, now, I guess. Ermor absorbed a nation that was large at the time, and he has the capacity to build thousands of these things, he if wanted to. Also, Prates, your drones all died because you godmodded them hitting me. Simple as that.

IC: An explanation! At last! All the pieces came falling into place, though, inevitably, they would be the wrong ones. When the First Doctrinal Conflict had been fought, the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za had taken their fleets, and travelled around the galaxy spinward, enslaving all that they found. The Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah, however, had gone counter-spinward, annihilating all non Ur-Quan life that they found.

Therefore, this was part of the galaxy that, in right, belonged to the Eternal Doctrine. While Lord 56 did not agree with the path the Kohr-Ah took, there was still a possibility that the Kzer-Za were wrong. After all, if Ur-Quan opposed your path, there had to be some flaw to it. They were intruding in the rightful area of the Kohr-Ah.

A message was sent to the Kohr-Ah armada, for the moment, ignoring the peculiarity that Dreadnoughts were included in the group.

I see, now. I apologize, brothers. Our arrival here was not intentional. If this is where you and your kind are practing the Eternal Doctrine, it is not yet our place to interfere. Nevertheless, we feel it would be.. prudent to aid you here, before attempting to return home.

Technically, it was a lie. But the Filth did not need to know this. All they needed was to be cleansed.

It was around this time that the Kohr-Ah marauders and dreadnoughts had come forth and in a massive armada intent on wiping out the alliance fleet that was helping the Deatharoni forces cleanse the arrogant Ur-Quan…

The Lady Commodore promptly sent a hail to the Kohr-Ah armada:

This is Imperial Task Force Augusta, You shall be purged in the name of the Death Goddess! You’re time of reckoning has come!

The Deatharoni fleet started to break formation and head towards the larger Kohr-Ah force with the intent of wiping them out to the last ship….

The Augusta Task Force promptly made a wedge formation towards the incoming marauder force. The dreadnought lead the point as the battleships formed the head and the lesser ships formed the body of the wedge…

The Imperial Star Fighters began to move into wing formation and escorted the core of the fleet at the incoming enemy giving them volley after volley of plasma blasts..

The Augusta Task Force promptly fired in unison against the enemy ships, The purple beam energy of the particle cannons sprayed at the enemy as the sphere like red plasma torpedoes were prepping to unleash a deadly salvo at the leading Marauders that were swooping into a Deatharoni combat formation.....

The various ship’s shields were still at 100% thanks to the fact the Ur-Quan had almost refused to shoot at the Deatharoni vessels. It was thanks to this that the dreadnought and her middle section were able to take the incoming fire from the Marauders….

The screams in his... Its mind turned into whispers for a moment. Memories of countless wrongs done to its species in times long past. The reasons behind the Path.

The face...

Kzer-Za.

They called the Kohr-Ah doctrine... "The Eternal Doctrine".

Yes.

It was them.

The first Kohr-Ah to show up on the scene replied to the message. The Kzer-Za receiving the transmission would notice that the Kohr-Ah he was speaking to was... Strange. Lifeless. As though a dead, slightly mummified husk, hanging unnaturally above its ancient trophy pit.

"Yes. We had... Forgotten. Your appearance made us remember. Yes... Death made us forget. Due to this... We came. We are in your debt. Yes... The Filth threatened your existence. This is intolerable. They must be cleansed."

The pain... The pain was only intensifying. The being screamed again.

"... So many... Memories... So many... Generations..."

And then, the transmission was cut.

--

As the volleys fired by the Deatharoni ships came closer, the Marauders engaged their F.R.I.E.D systems, causing burning spheres of hot plasma around the ships once again, which explains the pitch black, charred look of the vessels. While the Marauders lacked proper shields, the F.R.I.E.D. is an excellent substitute for such, no matter how momentary it is. A dozen of the twenty four Marauders took some kind of damage, most simply light, superficial damage. Two of the damaged ships were close to being incapacitated, but not quite.

Lucky? Maybe, but they were still in the game nonetheless.

The incoming fire destroyed the wounded frigate and took the life of the other shredder, a nova class was damaged as well, it had lost 50% of shields and was leaking atmosphere. While the barrage continued, the Filth seemed to still not understand what they were fighting.

They were using exactly the kind of weapons the Marauders could deal with with ease.

As the otherwise deadly barrage of explosive death came closer, the Dreadnoughts took refuge behind the Marauders which fired up their F.R.I.E.D. systems. The fleet's formation loosened a little as well, but that was just so the screen of plasmatic death would be even wider. The nuclear weapons and the torpedoes simply blew up in the screen, while the plasma rays were absorbed by the screen. While it was likely that some of the ships took some damage, it was quite non-critical, and did not weaken the fleet's current numbers.

They would have to find another way to punch through the defenses of the fleet.

But as things were, whatever they did was of little consequence. Sooner or later they would find themselves unable to protect themselves anyway. The Kohr-Ah had far higher numbers, and their assault was relentless. Or at least thus the Kohr-Ah thought - quite logical, but who knows.

In addition to this, the fighters from the Dreadnoughts were being destroyed by point defense systems the Filth was using.

It did not matter. They were more like a distraction to begin with, something to make the enemy use up its ammo on. The only time they could become a threat if they were completely ignored and let come close.

At this very moment, there were a greater task at hand - the remembrance of the old times.

Of the cleansing.

Of the Path of Now and Forever.

Soon... They would be whole once more.

Use of Jian Granted. All ships with a priority three or lower mission are to respond to the request for ships. Combat is inevitable, use of class one weapons is authorized. Godspeed.

[System]
Within several seconds those ships with intergalactic drives arrived. There were twelve of them. ten of them were battleships and battle cruisers, but one was a specifically built carrier and another a "dreadnought." The dreadnought was a revolutionary new ship. It was a stunning 2km in length making it the largest and most powerful ship of the pratese fleet. It was the first ship of its type and was to test the effectiveness of such large ships in battle. It featured a prototype gravity drive system and numerous advanced beam weapons. It also carried the secret weapon that bore its code name of "Jian"
The large ship moved out in front of the sing of ships that surrounded the larger fleets of the unknown race(es). Its first target was the fleet of the original threateners of the fleet. The Jian Charged, a bright red glow emanating from the tip of the spear like weapon. Then this bright red glow went forward in a lance like shape. The glow was concentrated anti-electrons that detonated on impact with the enemy ship's shield. Hopefully such a large amount of anti-matter would be able to destroy the enemy ship.
The remaining ships opened fire with their drone weapons and the carrier began launching the hew NF-4 Fighters.

Yet in this place, there seemed to be a need for Ur-Quan to stand against those who were not. Still.. the Kohr-Ah were.. strange.

Much could happen to a species in the time that had elapsed since they last split, Lord 56 reminded himself. They were not Kohr-Ah as he understood them, and.. they were almost not Ur-Quan. The desire to kill, the voice that screamed "Kill the interloper! Rip out its life!", was almost silent in the face of these new Kohr-Ah.

Fighters were launched, forming, once again, defensive perimetres around the three remaining Dreadnoughts. The two that had been destroyed were not even burnt-out hulks - they were rapidly-expanding clouds of gas, thanks to progidously powerful self-destruction mechanisms.

It would be resolved, once they had destroyed the rebellious creatures here.

((OOC: You said you shot at the "enemy's weapons themselves". I figured you meant the ordnance, because shooting at the actual weapons on the ships would be rather pointless due to the F.R.I.E.D. system, at least right off. And you'd probably hit the ordnance while targetting the weapon's systems anyway - it'd be easier to hit the ships in general than the weapons I'd say. I can edit the post if you want me to of course.

And Ur-Quan Hierarchy, you should be aware that based on Star Control 2 the Kohr-Ah always call their doctrine the Path of Now and Forever. The Kzer-Za and all the other sentients, however, call it the Eternal Doctrine.

Quick quotes.

Kohr-Ah:

"When the war was over, the great Kohr-Ah rose from our ranks and declared the Path of Now and Forever."

Kzer-Za:

"We had slave-shielded one world, when we learned that the Black Ur-Quan under a new leader, Kohr-Ah, had devised the Eternal Doctrine which called for the `cleansing', the annihilation, of all non-Ur-Quan sentient life."

Gets a bit confusing, sure, but that's how it works. :p I guess the Kzer-Za wanna distinguish between their Path and the Kohr-Ah Path, or maybe the Kohr-Ah are just too crazy by the time to actually remember that they didn't use the same name for their doctrine as the Kzer-Za did. Who knows.))

The after effect of such a gigantic struggle was seen as the EM shield lit up suddenly, dissipating into a gaseous substance that began twirling around the Sub-Space event horizon.

Everyone in the sector would soon notice a pulse, perhaps weak to some sensors and stronger than others. Another pulse, this time visible, followed. A circular expansion of what seemed like electricity flowed outward to shoot past all obstacles. Miliseconds later, a third erupted, sparking what looked like living flame all around the Sub-Space paradox bubble as it expanded to a certain point around the Anagonian Ship and Uri-Quan vessels. The living flame soon burned out, replaced by a magnificent lighting display, then followed seconds later by a surge of electrical energy that shot out in all directions.

This would indicate to an Anagonian technician that the Sub-Space drive was in overload, and would soon fracture. The Sub-Space device attemtped to comphensate by drawing more power from the Fusion drives, but failed miserably. The Computers, in a split-second move, dumped the Hydrogen Cores into the Sub-Space module. This worked.

In slow motion a spark came into existence inside the Sub-Space anomaly. The spark became a perfect sphere, expanding outward. Then, what seemed like a miniature star came into being. Solar flares shot outward in resistance as it collapsed on itself, creating an explosion the magnitude of a dying planet. Of course, none of this would escape to harm the other ships, but that was besides the point.

As a flash of intense light erupted from the center of the Sub-Space bubble, ripples of Space-Time flew outward towards everyone in the sector, and beyond. The disturbance was too great not to notice, and Time itself seemed to be trying to compensate.

Minutes later, the light subsided. In the place of the Anagonian Cruiser and the Uri-Quan ships was empty space, and a few dying flames from a nonexistent star.

OOC:

If you accept, go ahead and post where we end up. Perhaps fresh worlds to enslave, or empty space.
