Firstly, the basic factbook. The twin continents are known by only one name, at least by their inhabitants. Travellia. A mountainous, disagreeable country, it has long since been abandoned by the few colonists or explorers who came to it. There are only the native people, who collectively call themselves Travellians. Or rather, they call themselves Travellians in the same way that the people of Ancient Greece named themselves Hellenes - it is not an identity that suffices, except when fighting against a grand, overwhelming enemy.
Rather, the country is divided into tiny kingdoms, mainly city-states, some who smelt bronze, others that smelt iron, close enough together to make intercine warfare with neighbouring states both profitable and common. It is an area of the world untaken, though some have looked over it before. Much of the land is semi-alpine, high atop the roof of the world, and bitterly cold. There is some verdant, fertile land, but it is well-contested, and the war there makes it as unliveable as the rest.
Some one hundred and ninety millions make their home here - there are rich histories among the cities, cultures that have evolved in perfect isolation from the non-technological world. It is an anachronism, for it seems almost impossible to overlook a continent, yet it has never been exploited. None have ever considered the vast reserves of mineral wealth within the twin continents, and, as such, it has lain undisturbed.
Until now. Perhaps a simple traveller, exploring new lands, and reporting back to his people, or a warlike nation, its people needing a new target to settle them, deciding to invade - Travellia has been laid open to the world. Triremes would be no match for battleships, balloons against dedicated air superiority fighters.. the end of such a discovery seems obvious.
For millenia, the twin continents have lain alone, untouched, away from prying eyes. That is all about to change.

OOC: Ok, so. This is, effectively, going to be my new modern-tech nation. I am, however, raising it from ancient technology by way of colonization. This isn't just a "claim territory, leave", thread. It's my nation, and so, if you want to participate, you may feel free to do so, but lack of participation will have any territorial gains in Travellia revoked. It's my nation, after all.
Secondly, these are Iron-Age people. A large part of the RP following this will be culture shock, as I expect several nations (I'm looking for around 4-8), to be part of the acquisition of Travellia, and, since you're obviously not going to adopt bows and arrows upon arriving, there's going to be a few millenia of technological innovation to adapt to.
As such, no nukes, chemical, biological weapons, or any other WMD-style shooty-thing. If you can't take on iron-age, bitterly divided people who you outnumber a hundred to one with modern conventional weaponry, you don't need to be here.
Thirdly, chances are my people are eventually going to rise up and throw off the yoke of colonialism. Eventually is a key word, but if you're not willing to eventually give stuff back (or be beaten for it), again, don't come in.
Lastly, each continent is comparable in size to one of the Americas, though not all of the continent is shown.
Oh, one more thing. I'll choose whether or not approve you before you get let into the RP.
I reserve the right to tell anyone to leave at any time - I have a specific idea of how this RP is going to work, and if you decide to round up the Travellians into camps and butcher them all, that'll throw a spanner in the works, so I'll eject you.

So, express OOC interest, say how much land you'd be interested in conquering/how much effort you'd be willing to put into this RP, and I'll weigh it up.
