Lanzhou Military Region Head Quarters, Gansu province

General Shun Zhi propped his legs up on his large oak desk. He lay back in his fine leather chair as he watched the scene outside unfold. While Watching a young Chinese boy sit on the street corner in front of the PLA headquarters selling some fruit to the passers by he enjoyed a nice calm relaxed day, unlike most which were hectic and insanely busy in the Lanzhou Military Region. Unlike most Generals, he had 3 boarders to guard, this responsibility was a tough one when he only had 2 group armies under his command. Thankfully the General could kick back today as he waited for the next string of events unfolds. The mourning dew had barley evaporated from the leaves when a member of his staff, a Lieutenant Yi Zheng walked into his office. "General! Important orders from Beijing!" He said allowed as he prepared to hand the General a stack of papers. Without even looking around the General began to address his subordinate. "Yi, how many times must I tell you not to just barge into my office?" He said as he slowly turned around to face the young officer. "My apologize sir!" He blurted out as he stood at attention, the young and visibly nervous man stood at an attention waiting is fate at the mercy of the General. Zhi chuckled as he enjoyed this moment, he was happy to know that he still struck a sense of fear and loyalty in his subordinates. He leaned forward and retrieved the stack of papers from the Lieutenant. "You are dismissed Lieutenant." He said as he flipped the first page of paper. The young man briskly exited the room. The general pondered over the set of orders, his eyes widened as he read the last few lines. Picking up a red phone marked 21st Group Army, he waited for the other end to pick up. Once it did, he said only these 4 words, "General, Prepare your forces."

Sirens sounded aloud throughout the city. Chinese men rushed out of houses, bars and stores. Running down the street they desperately tried as fast as they could to make it to the PLA base on time for deployment, and to avoid being imprisoned for going A-wall. Lim Yun a young PLA Conscript rushed out of his parent’s small house in the suburb of Baoji. His feet splattered water along the road as he tried to don his coat while running. Tangled in the coat he avoided tripping as he made his way down the damp street. The young boy of 17 was overjoyed when he was first able to enlist in the PLA. Much like his father and his grandfather before him, he didn’t wish to stay at home farming like the rest of his family, the world was waiting for Lim. Arriving at basic training Lim didn’t know what to expect, he thought much like other young children, that they would teach him to shoot a gun, or drive a tank, however much to the contrary, Lim would be put through a grueling 12 week hell. Constant harassment from the NCOs and lack of sleep shaped and molded Lim into a proud solider of the PLA. Lim was now a man, a man that was free and on his own... Well almost.

Lim's legs began to cramp, the long 2 mile run from his small house to the base would be a grueling trial, and he only had 30 minutes to get to the base and half the city to cover. He ran down the wet muddy streets as the sirens continued to blaze out signaling the deployment. As he entered the center of the city, fellow PLA soldiers joined him on his run to the base. "Lim! Lim!" One of them cried. The boy looked back over his shoulder to see his friend Mu Zhou, another young PLA Conscript following close behind, as the two struggled up the final hill before the base. "Mu, we have to hurry, if we don't get to the barracks, Jiang will eat our heads with chopsticks." He exclaimed as he huffed and puffed down the road. The duo final made it to the front gate of the base, flashing their IDs to the guard; they continued their jog down to their Platoon barracks. When they arrived they found half of their platoon already formed and ready to leave. QBZ95 rifles in hand the soldiers quickly turned their helmet covered heads as the pair walked up. Chuckles escaped some of the men’s mouths as the 2 baffled boys approached the formation. Trying to be as sneaky as possible they fell into the back rank. However this ploy did not work as planned, due to the fact they had no field pack of rifle on their person like the rest of the platoon. The 2 stuck out like a sore thumb, destined to be noticed soon, the ominous voice of their Platoon NCO reached out as if it would grab the 2 soldiers. "Yun! Zhou! What is the meaning of this?"

With China divided, the Goal of the PLA was simple; unite the 3 rouge providences with the rest of the Peoples Republic. To accomplish this task, the PLA was to send the 21st Group Army from the Lanzhou Military Region into Qinghai Province. Once inside this rouge territory it would suppress any resistance and reunite the civilian populous with the rest of the Peoples republic, establishing PRC government heads to carry out the will of the Peoples Republic. Once this was complete, the 21st group army would continue into Tibet (Xizang) Autonomous Region, further securing yet another rogue territory. With little known organization in these two regions, securing the PRC's will, in these areas should prove no trouble for the PLA. Little resistance should be met, due to the lack of modern military equipment in these areas. The only actual military units reported in the area are 32,000 PLA soldiers that formed the garrison units of the two regions. These two units should still be loyal to the PLA, so not much resistance should be met from them. Further securing the area, the 6th Air Division will provide ground support and air superiority for the troops on the ground. Soon enough the two rouge regions will be back under the control of the PRC.

Furthermore a third rouge region is also separated from the Peoples Republic. Yunnan Province has been reported to have a great deal on anarchy. No political head has been able to control the population of this area. The PLA 13th Group Army is to be sent from Chengdu Military Region to regain control of Yunnan province. This area has reported many rebels and warring factions. Riots and wars between rival factions are common. Due to this fact, the PLA should have no problem regaining control of these areas. The small untrained factions are no match for the 13th group army, and should be swept aside by superior training and equipment. One of the major goals of the 13th is to hook up with the Yunnan Province Garrison forces. These forces should be able to aid the PLA troops in suppressing the civilian populous. A number of supporting units including 33rd Air Division will accompany the 13th in the take over of Yunnan.

The back of the EQ1093F6D 5 Tonne Truck bumped up and down as it headed down the road. Each time it drove over a pot hole the whole rear of the vehicle seemed as if it would flip forward. Lim Yun sat in the rear of the truck watching the countryside as it passed by. Luckily Lim seemed not to be bothered by the rugged trail. He sat calmly with the rest of his companions on the wooden benches built into the rear of the canvas covered truck. He clenched his QBZ95 5.8mm Automatic Weapon as the truck hit yet another bump sending them into the air and landing back on the bench. This had been the scene for the past 3 hours since they had crossed into Qinghai Province. The 61st Motorized Infantry Division had been following the rest of the 21st group army farther into the region. So far little resistance had been met. They had passed through village after village without seeing any hostile contacts. Lim looked up as a J-10 fighter screamed overhead on patrol. The bright red glow of the engine complemented the setting sun. The orange beams on the horizon signaled the end of the day, And the beginning of the first night at war. Lim sat back in his seat. He relaxed knowing that he would not get much chance to in the coming days. Across from him Mu Zhou sat looking over his rifle; Mu found that this kept him preoccupied, allowing him not to think much of what was to come. They were little less that 30 minutes out of Da Qaidam, a major city in Qinghai Province. Each of the soldiers of the 61st prayed that they would not have to see combat at such a early stage f the war. Hopefully the people of Da Qaidam would embrace the PLA as liberators, and not aggressors. This would soon become clearer in the coming hours.

The outskirts of Da Qaidam were empty of all life; small houses and building were all but abandoned as the 12th Armored Division rolled through. Tank after tank rolled down the highway into the city, hoping to secure the area from any resistance, before the infantry soldiers arrived. The lead group of 50 ZTZ99 (Type 99) Main Battle Tanks stormed into the main center of the city, the remaining residents of the city popped their heads out of their houses as the load roar of the large Main Battle tanks rolled through the city streets. One of the tank commanders radioed back to the 21st Group army command. "This is Spear Point, Da Qaidam central all secure, move infantry in. Over" The radio crackled as the commander waited for a response. "Spear Point this is command, very well, Have you made contact with the garrison force, over?" The young tank commander picked up the transmitter again and radioed back his response. "Negative, no contact made, over." A few moments passed before the response from command came. "Roger that, hold position until the Infantry arrive. Over and Out." The radio crackled for a final time. The young commander signaled for the rest of the tanks to halt as they created a perimeter around the central part of the city. Within minutes, the 61st Motorized Infantry Division arrived dropping off a number of troops that would stay behind in the city until a PAP unit could arrive and political organization could be established. At a near by building, a command post was established and the PLC flag was raised to signify that the PLA had control over the city. With the job done in this part of Qinghai Province, the 21t GA moved on deeper, into the rouge territory.

With a small foothold in Qinghai Province, the 21st group army continued farther into the fray. Truck after truck drove down the major highways and dirt roads as they continued to spread the influence and power of the People's Republic. The commanders of the 21st were very pleased that little resistance had been met, but at the same time, stupefied as the whereabouts of the Garrison of Qinghai. Finding those troops became a major priority for the PLA as they pushed farther into the rouge state. The 21st was directed to move towards the largest city in Qinghai, Xining. Once there, the commanders hoped to find out information as to the whereabouts of their missing forces. With few mechanical break downs of equipment the 21st reached Xining noon of the second day. Once there, they were greeted with silence, crowds looked on as the tanks, and troops rolled in. The liberators were not greeted with much enthusiasm. However that would hopefully all change once care package and relief was handed out to the public. PAP units rolled into the city on the next day to relive the 21st of garrison duty. The capital of Qinghai was now in control of the PRC, giving the PLA more power to spread the will of the Politicians in Beijing. The 21st soon after being relived was ordered to travel south to gain more land.

Farther to the east, the 13th Group Army had begun its press into Yunnan Province. Unlike the 21st advance, the 13ths advance was met with much civilian resistance. This resistance was mainly local factions trying to fight back the PLA, while fighting each other at the same time. Older AKs were the favorite of most rebels, only a few factions could get a hold of any anti tank weaponry. As the 13th moved into Kunming, hundreds of rebels came out in force to try and stop the advancing war machine of the PLA. The following is the story of the 3rd Platoon, 1st Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 37th Motorized Infantry Division. Also known as the 312137th.

"Contact left!" Gun shots rang out as the 3rd platoon dug in behind a few abandoned cars, in outskirts of Kunming. The 36 PLA soldiers fired off rounds from their assorted QBZ95s, QBB95 SAWs, and JS Sniper Rifles at civilian rebels rushing in vain to crush them. Lieutenant Ling Chang , commander of 3rd Platoon crouched behind a stack of empty oil drums. He issued orders to his platoon via hand signals as the seemingly never-ending wave of Rebels spilled forth onto then. "Conscript, contact, 2 O'clock, 200 yards." He yelled out to one of his soldiers. The young PLA Conscript quickly acted and fired 3 rounds from his QBZ95, striking a rebel dead in the chest. Giving out one last scream the rebel fell to the muddy ground. Other insurgents running behind him paid no attention to their fellow revolutionary lying face down in the mud. Each one ran forward over the dead body, only to find the same fate as their companion. Lt. Chang ordered his platoon to advance. Each solider in orderly fashion ran staggered down the road pressing on into the city. One unluckily young soldier was gunned down by a roof sniper as he led the column down the street. "Sniper on the roof!" The Conscript behind him called. Chang swiftly acted, signaling to his sniper, he pointed towards the alleged roof, where the sniper was located. Like a burst of lighting, the PLA sniper raised his weapon and fired. The bullet flew through the air with dead accuracy, hitting the man on the roof in the head. His lifeless body fell from the roof down to the streets below. With the sniper threat out of the way, Chang ordered his unit forward. Slowly but surly they made it to the center of the city. Once there they met up with other PLA units. By this time most of the insurgency had been rooted out allowing for the PLA to set up a more permanent posting in the city.

With the capital secured, the 21st began the long trip to the south. More specifically Yushu, another major city in Qinghai Province. Truck and tank engines were fired up, and the PLA was on the move. Lim sat in the back of NJ2046 1.5 Tonne High-Mobility Truck manning a .50 cal for the night. The stars above shown brightly on the large PLA convoy heading south. The large snake like line passed through small villages as the civilian populous looked on. Children chased the trucks as they drove down the road. Each small village greeted the PLA as they passed by. At one such village the Forward convoy stops for lunch on the 4th day. The villagers were very hospitable giving the PLA soldiers warm food to eat. Lim sat under a small wooden over hang that was attached to a small tan colored house. Lim looked down into his warm bowl of stewed hump. He picked up his small iron spoon and sipped the warm liquid down his throat. The taste reminded him of home, where he desperately wanted to be. As the lunch break wrapped up Lim returned to his post and the 21st was once again on the move. Continuing south the 21st passed through such cities as Zadoi, and Gyizia. Yushu was now just over the horizon, the last stop for the 21st GA in Qinghai Province. That night the 21st Group army rolled into the city. Greeting them was the long lost garrison force of Qinghai Province. All 16,000 starving, underpaid soldiers were living in Yushu, the lack of food and money was evident. The lack of leadership was also another thing that was evident. Once the city was secure, the commander of the 21st GA was flown in to meet with the leader of the Garrison force. Lim had a front seat to witness this meeting, or smack down as you could call it. The commander of the 21st was none the less, very unhappy with the performance of the garrison forces. Lim watched as the General in charge of the 21st took out a small wooden stick and smacked the garrison commander in the cheek. Bleeding and dismayed he lay on the ground, soon after he was dragged away to the brig, to await his court marshal.

With the full takeover of Qinghai Province, the 21st awaited further orders, and rested before the push into Tibet (Xizang) Autonomous region. To the east the 13th continued its battle to win over Yunnan. They moved into cities such as Yuxi, Baoshan, and Lincang. Each city gave the 13th heavy resistance as they moved from house to house rooting out and rebels that they encountered. A free, safe Yunnan was the goal of the 13th GA. Rooting out any revolutionaries was the number one priority of the 13th. Once in Lincang the 13th met up with the remains of the Yunnan garrison force. The once 16,000 man force was reduced to 356. Thousands of PLA soldiers were killed by rebels in the city. Now the remaining 356 joined up with the 13th to continue on into Yunnan province.

The final push into Yunnan Province was about to begin. The 13th army and the remnants of the garrison forces prepare for the fight of their lives as they started on the trek south, to the City of Jinghong. Jinghong would prove to be the last obstacle in the way of the PLA, thus the end of the invasion of Yunnan province. The EQ2061E 1.5 Tonne Trucks of the 13th GA started up and headed down the road towards Jinghong. Soldiers of the PLA waited and prayed as they traveled down the long bumpy road. This would be a crucial moment in the power expansion of the PRC. Leading the way to Jinghong was the 13th GA, Armored Brigade, this Armored Brigade consisted of some 500 TYPE 62 MAIN BATTLE Tanks, 400 TYPE 69/79 MAIN BATTLE Tanks, and 100 ZTZ96 (Type 96) Main Battle Tanks. These units would be the first into the city, creating an armored spearhead to catch any resistance off guard. At the same time the 2nd Army Aviation (Helicopter) Regiment would patrol the skies above the city, rooting out any who dared poke their heads out of any windows. These two factors would secure the area for the 37th, and 149th Motorized Infantry Divisions to move in and take the city. If all goes well the city should fall in a matter of hours to the PLA.

As the hours ticked on, the 13th group army loomed closer to Jinghong. The treds and wheels of the Chinese war machine screamed down the highways at top speed. Dust filled the air everywhere the 13th passed, creating an ominous cloud of doom for the resistance. As they came closer to the city, the Rebels of Jinghong grew into a panicked mob. Men ran around trying to find the best positions to fight off the aggressors. Others began finding ways to blend into the civilian population and stay out of the fight altogether. Others however stood there ground and prepared for a fight to remember. With loud roars, the Armored Brigade crashed onto the city. Gun fire erupted as soon as the first take could be spotted. RPG fire and other anti-armor weaponry began raining down on the tanks in a hail storm, these desperate attempts on the lives of the PLA soldiers would prove the end of the Rebels. However unlike the other rebels encountered, these seemed to be better armed and trained to fight off any PLA attack. Thankfully in the skies above, the 2nd Army Aviation (Helicopter) Regiment began going to work. Firing off hundreds of rounds into known rebel fortifications. The large lead bullets from the Z-10 Attack helicopters rotary cannons, busted through the walls of the buildings, killing off any insurgents inside. On the ground the Armored Brigade continued through the city. The rebels could not hold out for much longer, many began to abandon their weapons and surrender to the PLA. With the city secure, the Motorized Infantry Divisions moved in to raise the flag of the Peoples Republic in the last rebel stronghold.

The sun rose, four days from the day the 21st rolled into Yushu. The long rest for the PLA was soon to be over. Early in the morning the 21st Group army was awakened by the sound of JH-7 Fighter-Bombers flying overhead, towards Tibet AR. It now seemed that the much awaited invasion of Tibet was to begin. And once again the 21st would be the first into the fray. Soldiers hopped into the back of their trucks and began heading south, down the road into the PRC's new section of land. Much resistance was to be expected from the Tibetans, lead by the Dalai Lama in Lhasa. The first stop of the 21st group army is Amdo a city just south of the Chinese/Tibetan boarder. As the 21st moved closer to this city, the excitement seemed to jump out of the bushes, literally. Tibetan resistance fighters ambushed an armored company heading south-west into the city. RPG fire, and mortars rang out through the Tibetan country side as they tried to repel the PLA. However, the brave, but foolish rebels where beaten back by the Armored company with minor losses on the PLA side. In the air, JH-7s completed low level bombing runs on known rebel hideouts and gun nest, preparing the way for the ever nearing People's Liberation army.

On the ground, Lim Yun crouched down behind a broken down pickup truck in the middle of the road. Bullets buzzed over head as he and 5 others were pinned down by a superior numbered rebel force. The crackling of AKs and RPKs could be heard in the direction of the city. Lim tried to sneak a peek forward at the enemy contacts, but was forced to get down by the impending small arms fire. A young Junior Lieutenant sat behind the same car as Lim. He shouted into his radio in a nervous tone. One could tell this was his first fight. The sweat poured down his face and neck. His hands were shaking violently as he yelled into his radio for support. "Command, this is Junior Lieutenant Ping, we need support over!" However no response ever came. He sunk down to the ground, the fear could be seen in his eyes. "Sir! What are your orders!" asked the Lim. Ignoring that comment, the junior officer continued to sink down to the ground, ignoring the world around him, as if that would save his life. "Sir! If you don't give us orders, we will all die!" He screamed. No response came from the officer. Acting quickly, Lim signaled to his fellow soldiers to direct fire onto a group of insurgents that was located forward. The suppressive fire allowed Lim to lead another group to out flank the rebels. Pinning them down with fire from their assault weapons, the rebels fell one by one. Cheers came from the men as they celebrated the victory. Still hiding behind the truck the officer said nothing, he only sat there. A few minutes later, a Company of motorized infantry came up from the rear. The officer in charge stomped over to the shivering junior officer. "Lieutenant, on your feet, what is the meaning of this? Why are you not leading your men." He questioned. Still in shock Ping sat there looking at the ground. Growling the senior officer walked away from the disgraced man. "Who's in charge here? Or at least, who took charge here?" He shouted out. All the men pointed towards Lim. Who at the time was watching to make sure no contacts were coming down the road ahead. "Yun, are you in charge here?" The officer obliged. "Um uh... Yes Sir." Lim replied in a shaky tone, unsure as if he was in trouble or not. "Well then, you did an outstanding job, in place of your officer..." He congragulated Lim. “Carry on.”

With Amdo city under the newfound control of the People's Republic of China. The 21st moved further south. Units of PAP took over operations in the city of Amdo, and the job of rooting out the remaining resistance. Traveling down old broken-down highways and through mountain passes, the PLA neared the eternal city of Lhasa. Home to the Dalai Lama himself. This would prove to be a long and stretched out battle with the resistance in this city. The Tibetan rebels knew that if Lhasa fell, the whole of Tibet would fall with it. A bloody battle was to ensue as PLA regulars, and scantily armed Tibetan Militia clashed on the roads to Lhasa. No sooner did the 21st get within 100 miles of Lhasa than did the rebels seem to pour out of the hills and splash upon the 21st. Firefights could be found all up and down the path to Lhasa as Infantry hunkered down behind what they could find along side the road as rebels used expertly planned ambush sights to counter the PLA invasion. From cliffs, trees, villages, anything they could use, the rebels attacked the long PLA chain winding through the Tibetan countryside. Equipped with weapons ranging from Russian SV-98s, to SIG SG 550s, the rebels continued to pour lead into the unsuspecting PLA troops. Countering this attack was the 225th Army Aviation (Helicopter) Regiment and their Z-10 Attack Helicopters. The helicopters swooped in for the kill like owls on the hunt. The Z-10s returned the favor to the resistance by firing missile volleys into the clusters of entrenched revolutionaries. With the overwhelming firepower of the PLA, the rebels fell back into the darkness of the Tibetan wilderness.

Newly promoted Junior NCO Grade-2 Yun looked out over the rolling Tibetan hills and mountains below. The Clear blue sky passed above them as they road south onboard a EH101 Merlin towards the holy city of Lhasa. Lim's Platoon of 24 PLA soldiers were tasked with the mission of infiltrating the Potala Palace and extracting the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso. This assignment was of the utmost importance. If the Dalai Lama could be captured it would but a huge damper on the Tibetan resistance, allowing for the PLA to take the rest of Tibet. With no high altitude anti-aircraft equipment available to the resistance, Lim's platoon would therefore have no problem being able to enter the city. The rotor blades began to spin faster as the helicopter accelerated towards the palace. Beneath them the 12th Armored Division combated rebels trying to stop the advancing PLA. Tanks rounds whizzed through the air breaking the stillness around them. .50 calibers rang as shell casings littered the ground. Blood ran down the hills has Tibetan revolutionaries lay dying in the grass. Lim brought his head back into the helicopter. He looked over the faces of the young soldiers in his charge. As head enlisted solider, Lim had a great responsibility to the men under his care as well as their families. "Yun. We are 5 minutes out of the LZ, prepare the men." A broadly built, long faced Platoon officer ordered. "Yes Sir." He stood up out of his seat, grabbing two handrails, and began to address the his platoon. "Men, we are nearing the LZ, as far as intelligence can tell, this will be a hot landing. This is a heavily guarded structure that houses a very important figure in the enemy resistance. We must infiltrate the main building, where the Dalai Lama is reportedly staying. This will be a quick snatch and grab, we will get in, and out. Any questions?" He looked around into the eyes of China’s finest grunts. None of the men seemed to have any questions on the mission. They knew their duty and were prepared to carry it out. "Very well, let’s get ready; we are 2 Minutes out of the LZ."

The walls of the Potala Palace were guarded from corner to corner with Rebels. Men armed with Russian, and Indian made rifles paced back and forth along the ancient brick barricade. On the North wall a short stout man stood waddling back and fourth under his girth. His small AK-74U, dangled down from its shoulder strap, of the mans rather large shoulders. The sweat dripped down his face as he struggled to keep walking back and forth along the wall. In the distance the Merlin carrying Lim's platoon flew towards the palace. The mountains behind it seemed to only come within inches of the propeller blades. The chubby rebel failed to see the impending threat. This however would be his last mistake. The EH101 spun around to its side and began poring out M240 rounds into the Lhasa palace guards. Men fell from the high walls to the ground below as the PLA troops began unloading from the helicopter to the walls of the besieged palace.

Shadows lingered in every corner of this most Holy palace. Tibetan guards rushed back and forth in vain to try and locate the intruders. Creeping ever silently, like foxes on the hunt. Yun's platoon paced towards the main building. Crouching behind a bush, one of the PLA soldiers noticed a group of four guards heading their way. Acting quickly, the solider raised his QCW05 5.8mm Silenced Submachine Gun and quickly dispatched them with a few rounds to the head. Blood spattered on the pavement as the lifeless bodies of the unsuspecting guards fell to the ground. Lim signaled to his platoon with a few hand motions to continue. The palace was insight. Walking ever so close to the pavement they stepped into the shadow of the large Tibetan palace. TheIts ominous roof above them seemed to block out the setting sun. Reaching a small exit door in the back, the platoon prepared to enter. A few troopers took point while Lim and the platoon officer stepped back and prepared their troops to enter. One of the point men attempted to open the doorway. However it was sealed shut. This called for drastic measures. The door had to be blown off. Reaching into his pack. A young PLA demolitions expert pulled out a charge; He carefully secured the charge onto the barricaded door, setting a few dials to indicate the time delay. He signaled for the rest of his team to step back. Within seconds the door blew clear off its hinges. Smoke poured out into the surrounding area. "A guard is bound to hear that." Lim muttered. Without hesitation the team entered the palace. Finding themselves in what seemed to be a kitchen, they moved on, slow and steadily. The darkness seemed to fill the room, only the flashlights mounted on the PLA firearms broke the shadows. The dead silence seemed to bring forth a strange ringing in the air. Combat boots scraped across the floor as they entered a long hallway. "All secure." The point man signaled. The bare grey concrete walls of the hallway matched the dark grey granite floor. Pulling out a floor plan, Lim placed it against the wall. "It looks like we are in a small mateinence shaft 4 floors beneath the Dalai Lama's residence. There is a stairwell 25 meters down this hall we can take up." Lim read off to his platoon, as he pointed to a small square box marked stairwell on the floor plan. He looked over his shoulder at his troops. "Well let’s not just stand there, move out."

Foot steps trotted up the stairs of the Potala Palace. PLA troopers armed with QCW05 5.8mm Silenced Submachine Guns, and QBB95 squad automatic weapons infiltrated the home of the Dalai Lama in hopes of capturing this prime leader of the Tibetan resistance. Working there way to his position, the platoon of soldiers made their way up 4 flights of stairs. The 2 point men had their firearms poised for combat, ready for any contacts that may walk down the stairs to confront the PLA. Soon, boots pounding on the steps could be heard further up. The platoon halted, waiting silently like a snake for a rat. 2 Tibetan guards came down the stairs right on top of the PLA. Stupefied as to the 2 PLA troopers pointing their guns at them, they tried to let out a call for help. However they were cut short by the ringing of shell casings hitting the stairs. The faithful Chinese soldiers continued up the stairs. Their boots left marks on the dead bodies of the Tibetan guards as the came ever nearer to the Dalai Lama. After the short 10 minute climb, they had finally made it. A door marked level 4 stood before them. Taking up their positions the Point men kicked the door open. The loud clang of the door slam echoed throughout the staircase. Before them was a hall decorated with red walls, paintings of the past Dalai Lamas and the occasional potted plant. At the pinnacle of the hall was a set of double doors made out of fine wood. Lim nodded to his point men to continue on. Slowly and stealthfully they crept towards the doors. No man knew what lay behind the oaken threshold. It could be a trap, or it could be the Dalai Lama himself. After a long stressful moment, the platoon reached the door. 4 Men guarded the staircase entrance while the rest prepared to enter the chamber. Like the stairwell door, the point men set themselves up for room clearance. The masked PLA soldier signaled to his platoon, holding up 5 fingers, he dropped one each second. 5...4...3...2...1 BOOM. The door was thrown open as if a bull had hit it. The PLA soldiers rushed in to secure the room. They were met with the cries of Tibetan resistance members holding up their guns in surrender. "Don't kill us!", "I have children!" they screamed in Sino-Tibetan. Swiftly they were forced to the ground and took prisoner. Lim looked over the room. He caught a quick glimpse of a man in red robes sitting in front of a fireplace on the far end of the chamber. Walking over to him, Lim noticed that the man was none other than the 14th Dalai Lama. The elderly man looked up from the embers of the fire, and muttered a few words to his capture. "If you wish to kill me, then kill me, my body is but a shell." Lim smirked at the mans comments. He grabbed the mans arm and forced him out of the chair. "You will not die. Today at least." He said as he handed the Dalai Lama over to a few of his subordinates. Lim followed the Dalai Lama out of the room. As he left he glanced over to the troopers that had secured the Tibetan guards. He looked into the masked eyes of one of his soldiers and nodded. Confirming his order, the man charged his weapon, aiming his gun at the head of a rebel laying face flat on the ground. The silenced bullets shot from the gun and entered the mans temple. Taking the example the other PLA troopers did the same with the rest of the men. Their bodies lay strewn, bleeding on the ground. Their killers stepped out of the room, leaving the bodies to rot.

Outside the sounds of mortar and tank rounds from the nearing 21st group army could be heard. The unprepared Tibetan revolutionaries fought out of houses and out of ally ways to fend of the PLA. However this effort was for naught. No small rebel force such as this could stop the PLA from taking the city. Overhead J-7 Fighter Aircraft patrolled the skies. On occasion, one would launch a missile from its rocket pod onto a group of unsuspecting rebels. As the 21st neared the city, the fighting grew more intense. Rebels armed with all matter of weaponry seemed to come out of the woodwork to fight the PLA. In a matter of time, their resistance fell, leaving the 21st Group army the victors. Tanks rolled into the square in front of the Potala Palace. Tibetans looked on as their city was captured. Old women cried, as young men cringed. The Peoples Republic of China was now in control of the capital of Tibet. Soon the rest of Tibet would follow.

Lim's platoon escorted the Dalai Lama to an awaiting EH101 Merlin in the square. The Green and brown stripes of the helicopter clashed with the Dalai Lama's majestic red robes. Silently and slowly the old man boarded the transport. He sat with his eyes closed mediating, as the helicopter flew skyward. Back to Beijing he would be taken, were he would be for safe keeping. Overwhelmed with his accomplishment, Lim stood back and watched the helicopter fly off. His job in this conflict was now over. His next stop, home.

With the fall of Lhasa, the Tibetan resistance had been dealt a serious blow. Their main figure of importance, the Dalai Lama had been taken into custody by the PLA. Now with their moral cut, the Rebels would have an even harder time taking on the PRC. Day and night air raids on known rebel hideouts have been carried out day after day. Rebels flee to the mountains to try and wait out the PRC. However the all seeing eyes of the PLA can spot any rebel, any where. Within minutes of being spotted, a rebel can expect a JH-7 over their heads dropping all types of smart bombs and missiles. On top of the air raids the 21st has continued its advance farther into Tibet. Marching for the last rebel stronghold, of Tsada. This far off city on the very edge of China is the last place that rebels have been able to fortify. Anywhere else, the rebels have seemed to be shut out of. No population wants the war to come to there door step. After the capture of the Dalai Lama, the people of Tibet have lost hope. They can only hold on to what they have left, and hope for the best. As the PLA ground troops and air support assets near Tsada, the PAP has taken over has the main embodiment of the PRC, in Lhasa. Armed guards march in front of Potala Palace keeping all unauthorized persons away. Still not open to tourism as of yet however. But PAP is preparing for the day that it is. For now, strict curfews are in effect on the population, to prevent resurgence.

Soon the 21st Group army reached Tsada. Helpless gunfire and roadside bombs tried to hinder the PLA as they entered into the city. However this did not stop the all powerful sword of China. The streets became ablaze as PLA troops moved house to house to rid the city of insurgents. Tanks rolled down the streets, and fighters flew overhead and the resistance held their last stand. Thousands of freedom fighters poured out onto the streets to combat the oncoming forces. However, due to the fact they were untrained, and unorganized, they were no threat. PLA infantry blew the rebels over as if they were the Stick house in the 3 little pigs. Their bodies lay on the streets everywhere. The smell of rotting and dead bodies was overwhelming as the PLA moved farther into the besieged city. It would take more than a stench to stop the 21st. After hours and hours of fighting the Rebels began to trickle into nothing. The only thing left of the resistance was the dead bodies of its members. Starving dogs ran through the streets eating what flesh they could rip of the carcasses. What remained of the civilian population was given a warm meal and sent to nearby cities to start anew. This was a new beginning for Tibet, A new beginning painted in Chinese Red.
