General George F. Stern paces in his undisclosed hideout in Orbath waiting for his soldiers to meet him. He tries to relax so he sits down in his chair and looks out the window. He opens up his desk and pulls out the diary of his mentor, General Cooper.

He reads:

January 20th, 2008

The scene before me is glorious and yet depressing. Men fire there rifles into the air celebrating only hours after firing them at Enemy tribes. The past 14 weeks have been a brutal campaign in which the Nadroji people, predominately white, have taken control over the other tribes in Promettre la Terre

First came the Yiminites, a small tribe of roughly 500 who sit at the eastern most point of the Promettre la Terre or “Promise Land”. The Yiminites put up hardly a fight as we conquered their territory.

Next came the Frunks, who put up a valiant effort in the North. A viscous battle was fought at St. Marie’s Pass where over 10,000 loyal Nadrojian troops lost their lives in battle. The great mountain claimed 30,ooo lives in all, making it the second bloodiest battle of the campaign. Once defeating the Frunks there, we took the capital without a single shot fired.

Last came the Tolka in the West, a millenarian state with a ruthless leader. Their army built a 50 foot wall guarding the last stronghold they had. After a 3-day long battle was fought at the legendary Fort Makhey, we stormed the broken wall and massacred all that was inside of the great fort. 25,000 men were lost on our side and as many as 50,000 of their men, women and children were killed.

I can not live with myself any longer. The women and children who were savagely killed were not under my order. It was the ruthless Colonel Gorbachev who ordered all to be massacred. My time here is done. I am giving direct control to my fellow officer General Stern. I could not find a way to convict the General who will live on. Nadroji is now the sole state in Promettre la Terre. My work is done.

General Ron J. Cooper
Commander of Nadroji

Stern wipes a tear from his cheek and puts the diary back in the desk. He thinks of his mentor who disappeared after writing his final entry. Most believe he drowned himself in the Brako River in Nadroji.

After a brief knock on the door, Colonel Gorbachev walks into the office.

" The men are here, sir. They are ready for orders."

"Thank you. tell them to check into their barracks and get ready for dinner. I will address them then." General Stern responds with a choked up voice.

" Yes, sir."

The secretive soldier leaves as General Stern tidies himself up for the dinner. He pulls out his flask of whiskey and takes a swig. He puts on his Officer jacket and pops on his hat. Looking in the mirror he can only smile at what he has become: The Commander and Leader of a Country.
