Dear Minister of Defense Heinkel,

I would like to immediately meet with you at a secure location in Saint Petersburg about the Vineyardian crisis. Please respond as soon as possible.

SIC:

The secret intelligence agency of the USSGR prepared for the meeting in the meeting room of its underground headquarters in Saint Petersburg. Srecko knew that Heinkel could be trusted because of the traditional neutrality of the Great Sixth Reich, but the staff would still be careful to only let Heinkel view only material that he should view.

SIC:

In the secure area of Heinkelstadt airport, the Monocratic Airbus A380 touched down on runway 36L, turning off the runway to the taxiway leading to the maximum security area on the left.

Once the engines shut down, Adolf Göring's security team walked down the stairs of the aircraft, followed by Göring himself.

"We've got beaucoup chaos on the verge of happening worldwide because of this mess! I'm out of here to meet with Srecko!" Ludo Heinkel yelled to Göring over the near deafening noise of the airport as they crossed paths.

"Good luck! Contact me to let me know what's happening!" Göring yelled back, waving goodbye.

Ludo Heinkel and his security team walked up the steps into the aircraft. Soon after, they were on their way to Saint Petersburg. Once Heinkel was in the air, an official in the Ministry of Defense let Srecko know that Heinkel was on his way, and that he would be bringing a lot of security personnel with him.

SIC: There have been talked of chaos in Vineyard, although recent communications from Iraq suggested that this might not be the case. What had happened since the War? Perhaps it lingered too long that the people there rebelled against the leaders [likely :D] Perhaps a secret coup organize by a foreign power?

Regardless, there were more problems than just the loss of a strategic ally. Granted, the Vineyardians were more militarily active, bringing the Emirate to the brink of conflict in some instances, but careful planning and negotiations helped keep the balance of power with the Emirate and the Empire. But the absence of the Vineyardians in the Middle East now left the potential for conflict to ensue. Who would take up the reins now?

The Emir was busily trying to manage the affairs in Asmara [also to root out the assassins, albeit not very intelligently either]; the Defense Ministry was handling a case of foreign invasions in Kopparbergs Nigeria; what to do of Iraq, Iran, and Syria?

The Airbus A380 landed in Saint Petersburg. Six bodyguard armed with G36K surrounded Heinkel, while Heinkel himself was packing a Heckler & Koch MP7 in his jacket. A counter-sniper team equipped with AMP Technical Services DSR-1 sniper rifles were on watch until his limousine left the area. Times had changed.

SIC:

While Lufthansa and LOT Polish are still continuing to serve Zagreb and Dubrovnik airports, flights are now largely filled with MND agents and German Croats hired to work for the MND. They are smuggling in a myriad of military gear into Croatia, including Heckler & Koch HK417 assault rifles, ERYX man-portable wire-guided anti-tank guided missiles, Mistral man-portable surface-to-air missiles, GL-06 40mm grenade launchers, Heckler & Koch MG4 light machine guns, AMP Technical Services DSR-1 sniper rifles, ballistic vests, ballistic helmets, and MP7 personal defense weapons, along with crates full of ammunition for all the weapons. They carry some with them, but most are sent as cargo. Heavier support--such as PzH 2000s, KMW Grizzlys, and perhaps even Leopard 2 main battle tanks--may be provided if fighting intensifies.

The leadership of the organization, which recently set up headquarters in the walled city of Dubrovnik, consists of 500 agents, supported by roughly 5,000 MND-armed and MND-trained German Croats, in addition to local Croatian support. They are currently trying to infiltrate and enlist the help of as many Croats as possible throughout Vineyardian territory in Europe by serving as a quasi-police and defense force. The process is made easier do to Vineyard's use of the TO system (meaning the weapon caches for all able civilians are stored throughout Vineyardian lands) and high nationalism of the Vineyardian populace (the MND-led movement associates itself as a "real Croatian" organization independent of the government and led by actual Croats). As of now, they are confined to Croatia, but should expand shortly to Italy and the rest of the Balkans if no one interferes.

The Monocracy of the Great Sixth Reich has taken note of the developing domestic political crisis within the Empire of Vineyard. We urge all states to not infringe in any way on Vineyardian lands; it is our duty as citizens of the world to not cause internal disruption within a foreign state. We send our best wishes to the Vineyardians.

OOC: I now give authorizing for any RPs taking place within Vineyard to happen.

OCC: Is this the thread where, if we so wish, claim lands that belonged to Vineyard or can we create our own thread?

SIC: The Republic and specially, the Iberian Kingdom couldn't help, but look on in glee as it's once dreaded enemy disintegrated into dust. The Republic through it's strength of unity had won the Cold war showdown. The once proud and strong Vineyard Empire was gone. In it's wake was left the spoil of wars and the Republic couldn't help, but smile :) as the many nations of the world made preparations to devour the leftovers of the Vineyardian Empire. Having almost fought a war against them, some felt it was within the right, no duty for the Republic to claim the majority of the Vineyardian Lands for themselves.

Sadly for them, this was not to be as their voices fell silent on deaf ears. The Republic had no wish to get involved in a war of conquest and the political fallout this would bring, besides it's interests lay elsewhere. With the Vineyardian Empire gone, the Republic could now devote all it's energy and effort towards the Sharina Technocracy. There was also a resurgent China to deal with.

All that matter in the end to the Republic, was that the Vineyardian Empire was dead and wouldn't be coming back anytime soon. A new day had dawn for the Republic of United Nations. :D

SIC:

All though the UCR publically considered the Vineyardian Empire as a strategic friend and ally, it was widely known within in the Government that the UCR and the Vineyardian Empire had begun to have a strained relationship especially during the later parts of the Empire's life. Possibly the biggest thorn was the Cruise Missile Strike on Tehran during the UCR's assault on the city, it had cost hundreds of soldiers their lives and the Vineyardian Empire had the wherewithal to kill those responsible and cover their tracks.

With the Vineyardian Empire now defunct and it's lands considered largely Warlord Ruled, the UCR Parliament and the President considered their options for expanding their influence further into the Persian Gulf. Plans were drawn to coincide with what is being called Operation: Zero or Operation: Infinity. It would seem that expansion was on the horizon for the UCR and more additions to the United Republics would soon follow.

"Ludo, we have had the chance to know each other quite well over the years. You probably know what we want. Now, with Vineyard, gone, we want as much of the Balkans as possible. After all, it is as much our heritage as Vineyard's. Slavs must be united!" Srecko said.

A bit outdated of a response-- I didn't want to update it until I was sure what was going on with Vineyard -- but I'll post the progress here. I am essentially creating a potential front organization for Vineyard should that famous founding member of Earth V ever rejoin, which he has done in the past, which is why this RP should not be used as an example for how to claim more land. I do not intend for Croatia to belong officially to the Monocracy; I am merely playing the rebels that Vineyard always has claimed would defend his territory after his government's fall.

In short, the MND has taken control of the TO system throughout Croatia. It started in Dubrovnik with 500 MND agents and 5,000 MND-trained Croats, and spread -- with assistance in the form of dozens of donated PzH 2000s, KMW Grizzlys that the Croats mysteriously acquired from the Monocracy -- to the southeastern borders of Serbia.

Nowdays, the TO system controls Croatia, and the TO proclaims the creation of the Republika Hrvatska, although there is yet to be a constitution. The current "military" and "police" -- both of whom are essentially the TO -- of the new state consists of 200,000 men, including 10,000 PzH 2000s, 15,000 KMW Grizzlys, 1,000 Leopard 2 main battle tanks, some of which were purchase, some of which were donated -- potentially for political favors.
