OOC Information
Hey everyone! I'm fairly new at NS, but already, I've developed some alliances and broke some major ground. I feel that posting some information about my nation will help make some new ties with other fellow NSers. Regarding the forums, I am not a big time RPer. The only time I get involved really is when an ally is in need of assistance, or colonization, etc. I never use nukes and I only work with a fixed population on certain circumstances.
So, without further ado, I give you.... Latislavia!

Latislavia started out as a collection of different nations (now known as the provinces). These nations were city-states run by Cheiftains of different Slavic Tribes. These tribes eventually began to intermarry, and soon, they decided to unite their nations under one ruler. They chose a Cheiftain named Borashevo Kardavska. The Kardavska Dynasty reigned from 1597 to 2007, the year of the Revolution. The Kardavskas where the oldest ruling dynasty of any ethnic Slavic tribes. What makes Latislavia unique is that it is a combination and somewhat a bastardation of true root Slavic mixed with true root Latin, hence the name Latislavia. Recently, in Time Magazine, Latislavik was named the hardest language to learn and understand. To give you an example, here is how you say " Hello, my name is Nikolae, what is your name" in Latislavik: "Yekmesch, mai njam eta Njikolae, wicht eta uricht njam?"

Geography:
Latislavia is located on the equator. (In our region we use a map of Europe. Latislavia takes up almost the entire eastern mainland part of Europe). Latislavia is fairly warm yet the north experiences all seasons. Climate:
Average Temperature: High: 98 degrees ; Low: 16 degrees
Natural Resources:
Iron, Steel, Potatoes, Corn, Wheat, Barley, Coal, Silver, Copper, Timber, and other various produce.

OOC: This is a good factbook, Latislavia. As a suggestion, you should tell us about your nation's government.

Latislavia's government, for the longest time, was an absolute monarchy, where secession was based on family ties. The monarch was known as the Emperor. Since the overthrow of Nikolae Kardavska, the government is a direct democracy. The people vote on every issue, without an electoral college. The National Assmebly, or in Latislavik, the Parljagov, act mainly as a commitee to discuss issues and vote on any amendments, with approval of the citizens as well. Members of the Parljagov, known as Parljagovens, vote on issues and can only pass resolutions with the Head Chair's approval, but even then, the resolution does not pass as law without the Premier's approval. The Premier's approval cannot be overturned unless by majority vote of the PEOPLE. A veto from the Premier can only be overturned by a two-thirds majority vote from the Parljagov, which can, if so chosen,be taken back by the Chief Ministers of the provinces, and let their citizens decide to overturn the Parljagov's decision. Each province is governed by a Chief Minister and the cities and towns within the provinces are run by Ministers. Provinces are granted much autonomy, but must unite under the federal government.

ooc: Very good start! Looking at other people's factbooks will help you in the future should you wish to add things or make it look different.

Couple suggestions: It would be good to put something about your military, even if you don't use it much or have it organized. Something's better than nothing. Also, a map of your nation is usually fun to look at, though not really a requirement.

Nice factbook, but Koraslava wishes to be recognized as independent.

Alright, I'll fix it, since I will announce that as of now, Koraslava, a former Protectorate of Latislavia, is now a free and independent state. We will issue a withdrawal of our national guard stationed there and will relieve Gov.-General Leninov of his duties. Congratualions Koraslava, if you wish, you may enter the Equatorial Atlantic Union and once your government is setup, you may send a representative over. We wish you the best of luck in this new chapter of your nations history.

We thank the Latislav government many times, for allowing our independence. We still wish to continue an alliance with your nation and forge an eternal partnership. Thank you.
