Rivers and Lakes
Hydrological Records
- Longest River: Kingdom River (245 miles)
- Fully inside Cookeslandic Borders: Wissinoming (164 miles)
- Largest Lake: Lake Naika (442 sq mi)
Cookesland has many lakes, especially the Lake Country (hence it’s namesake). The largest by far is Lake Naika, the source of the Kingdom River on the Luerican-Gaitt border. Most of these lakes are remenants of the depressions left on the land after the ice melted during the last ice age.
Cookesland also has many rivers, including the great Kingdom River which runs along the western border, and the Wissinoming river running through the center of the country. Almost all Cookesland rivers flow to the east, the most notable exceptions being the Kingdom , which flows west befor heading south, and the Scoaling which flow from the Terminus mountains to the Kingdom river.
Regions
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w107/Cookesland/Flags/Cookesland-map.jpg
Northeast (Pauanui, Gaitt) A region steeped in history, ranges from quaint little towns to huge metropolitan areas. The great Northeast is a place of windswept coastal plains, great seafood, and often snow.
Lake Country (Saria Island, Luerica) One of the most scenic regions, the lake country is full of pictuesque lakes, rolling verdant hills and friendly people. It is one of the least densly populated areas of the country. This is a great place to escape the huslte and bustle of a much bigger world.
Terminus Mountains (Windonesia, Altafiore) The spectacular snow-covered Termini offer outdoor pursuits such as hiking, rafting, and skiing on some of the greatest snow on Earth. This is a region of extremes, from freezing highmountains to low deserted plains. Also home some some of Cookesland's best schools and academic institutions.
Azzura (Nicktenstein, Quorsica) In some ways quintessentially Cookeslandic, and in others completely atypical, Azzura offers world-class cities, plains, rain forests and a famous beach lifestyle. Home of the trendy, hip, and chic centered around the city of Ariana, this is the home of many a vacation get-away and the country's flourishing movie industry.
Outer Islands(Herema, Solivil, Isolia, Richland) Consisting of the four newest states of the union, the Outer Islands generally have hotter weather than the 8 continental states. They are a lot less populated than the rest of the country.
