The Founding of Kemeral

Greston

Somewhere in an Unknown Ocean

The wind rushed against the side of boat leaning it as far to its side as it could with out falling into the water. The rain poured down upon the deck whenever it was facing up and when it wasn't the water ran off of it only for this process to repeat again moments later. The waves were fast and ferocious making the boat move back a force giving Jacob Kemeral and his crew whiplash. Up to this date there was only was only three deaths. The first death was when Michael Angeli drank 14 bottles of hard liquor in less then half an hour and fell over board. The second death was one of Robert Marks who attempted a one man mutiny only to have half of his face blown off by Jacob Kemeral, and the third was the self inflicted death by Andrew Marks because of his dead brother. Other then that the trip was fine.

Jacob stood on the deck in a bright yellow rain jacket with a bronze telescope that he was looking out of. The rest of the crew was taking cover from the winds under deck and in the cabins but Jacob was determined to find land. It was sixty days ago, he was standing in front of a large crowd of civilians standing behind a line of Grestonian soldiers cheering, the President standing on a podium with two premiers and ten secret service agents standing behind him. He gave a speech, the crowd cheered then he saluted the president and his crew did the same then they boarded the ships and sailed off as the crowd cheered behind them.

But that was the past and Jacob needed to learn to live in the present and forget the past. If it was possible and he found land he was set up a good future and the past wouldn't matter or affect anything in that.

He heard a small mummer below him, and it got louder and clearer as the salt water washed out of his eyes and off his face. It grew louder and clearer until he was able to understand what it really was. It was his first mate calling to him, "Jake! Jake! Jake come down into the cabin, it is getting crazy on deck Jake! Jake you will die! Jake come down Jake!"

After hearing that enough he said in reply, "Ok, just shut up I am coming down." and he grabbed the telescope, his bronze compass and the map that was in front of him and he ran down under deck.

***

Jacob let out a long yawn which escaped his mouth as he sat up and stretched his arms and legs. He had a cramp from lying in a corner curled up all night and he was cold from the wet rain jacket that he slept in. He pulled the ragged cloth that he used as a blanket off and got up and went on deck. There in front of him as his crew slumped around eating the small rations for breakfast.

"Sorry guys, I never though that that storm would have blown us so off course. Well I am going to figure out were we are, and if we don't find land today, on the sixtieth day of voyage we will head back home."

The crew gave a quiet grumble as a reply and Jacob figured out the coordinates. After finding out their coordinates he threw the tools to the floor with a loud curse. They were way to off course. They had no chance of getting back home.

He sat down on a chair that was near him and sighed and looked at the see, and not less then a mile away from him was a key of islands. There were 15 moderate sized islands in sight and more off into the distance. He jumped up and starting screaming "LAND LAND!" then the crew brought the ship to the nearest island.

Next to the boat in giant swarms swam fish of all sizes and type. There was so many that they could bend over the side of the boat and pick one out of the water. The water sparkled with a Caribbean feeling to it. The first island was a large island with great sparkling rivers and lakes, and tons of animals were all around. Not one piece of trash was on the ground.

Then with pride and joy Jacob and a group of men would climb up the tallest mountain peak and plant the Grestonian Flag. They did that with four more islands which added up to an amount of land equal to that of India. They named the land Kemeral in memory of Jacob Kemeral who led all of the people there to find it.

After a little bit of searching there were about 5 million natives, all of which were white and miraculously spoke English. They named the four islands that were claimed for Greston Kemerite and name the entire area Kemeral. There were 53 islands in all including the four new Grestonian ones. The other 49 would be open to colonization of foreigners at a later time.

New Argyll Island, Karesta

From the higher parts of the island, through the oceanic mist, the natives of what would become the newest part of the Kiravian Empire could make out the shapes of a convoy bound for their shores.

Ten ships, a mix of colonial transports, cargo carriers, and bulky vessels that would be scrapped to build settlements, moved towards the island.

A group of natives gathered at the port that the Imperial ships were headed for. The leader of the island republic, President Atan Boras, stood near the front, secured by a squadron of guards.

The first Kiravian ship pulled into the city's port.

Several tall people, draped in khaki-coloured cloaks, disembarked, and approached the assembled natives.

One of the Kiravians, seemingly their leader, threw off the part of the cloak obscuring his face. The natives let out a collective gasp of shock. The man's was as white as the foam that tipped the waves. The other newcomers removed their hoods to reveal that they had strikingly pale skin as well. The people in this part of the archipelago were tan in complexion.

The Kiravian leader spoke in accented English, "Greetings, we are representatives of the Silver Imperium. Our Empire has laid claim to this island. We intend to settle it, and improve the roads, technology, and healthcare. Unto you, we extend the offer of citizenship and land rights in this colony. Will you aid us and become part of our Empire"

Similar encounters occured on all five islands, until the enitre sub-archipelago was united as the Colony of Karesta

Cookboroughan Fleet
Off the Coast of Kemerel
9:23 AM

The fleet (if it could be called that) was returning how to Cookborough from Serenno. It was only a few days out and so far they had made excellent time, they were taking a newer route one that had not been taken before. So the captain was a little off course, but he didn't realize it...yet

The weather had started to take more of a turn for the worse the skys were quickly darkening. Winds were picking up.

"Where is the nearest port? We need to find shelter from this storm."

"Captain, satellite readings say we're a ways off from our course we don't know where the nearest port is. It does asy how ever, there is a large archipelago nearby."

"Set course for the archipelago immediately."

The ships changed there course and soon enough had arrived to the islands

----

As the sun rose the next day the Fleet sent out some They send some scouting planes. The Cookboroughans had arrived at the outer part of the archipelago from where they could see. The Island they had arrived at was probably one of, if not the largest island in the islands.

They sent a boat to the short and unfurled a red, white, and green tricolor and placed it on the sand.

They claimed the Large Island and two of its much smalled satellite islands for Cookborough. Immediately they notifed the President and asked her to send reinforcements.

The boat passed very close to they're new island. Under the cover of darkness, hundreds of black inflatable rubber rafts were lowered into the water, and sped off to they're new island. The Arch Prior had concerns that the government in the Beatus would be over run, and so he covered up the colonization of this island. All records were destroyed, and they were moving in on cheep, untraceable rafts. There they would wait, and bide they're time, while building up they're forces, until the time was right. Then they would strike back. They named they're new island, Huttlebump Isle.

The well-lubricated wheels of Kiravian colonialism began to turn.

Once the islands had been secured, and the first 15,000 settlers transplanted, the most critical part of the process began: Research.

The five Kiravian settlements were soon inflated by a flood of what the Empire called "colonial contractors": Scientists, engineers, technicians, and knowledge workers sent to collect information on a colony, and then set up residence there. Besides the obvious benefit of gaining important data with which to develop the colony, use of the contractors helped spread the intellectual class around the Empire.

Geologists and minerologists began the search for earth resources. Botanists, ecologists, and zoologists began to study the native wildlife, and an elite team from the Strategic Sociology Office began an intensive study of the natives.

The five islands that were to be under Mokan control were now being colonized by both government contractors and members of Montana Inc. In all reality one island, currently named Paradisa 4, had been purchased from the Government at a price of 5 billion dollars by Montana inc for a massive pharmaceuticals factory, including fields, housing and storage. The freighters were unloading prefab houses and food and medical supplies for the first months where the colony would get on its feet.

A mokan flotilla was also on call nearby. While its intentions were defensive, it did stand as a beacon of potential conflict in the area. A few marines were also unloading as the primary concern was the local natives, without thier cooperation, this whole operation would be far to costly.

The new islands were a sight of interest to the Imperator, and so some 2000 settlers and 750 members of the armed forces were just now arriving aboard two vast Nimitz class carriers. They came bundled with pre-fabricated homes, and they were there to claim 5 islands which had been selected as theirs. A tall, smartly dressed man stepped down. This was Jim Ballany (lost the original name...), and he was to be the new governor of this colony. He strode across the sandy beach, to where the land rose up. Placing a flag down there, he said, "I claim this land in the name of the Orwellian Meritocracy of Faxanavia!"

"Do you have a flag?"

"We don't need a bloody flag, this is our country you bastard!"

"No flag, no country! You can't have one. That's the rules... that... I've just made up! And I'm backing it up with this gun... that was lent from the National Rifle Association."

The colonazation fleet from Sentient Beongs contained 5 destroyers, 10 subs, 2 battleships, 1 carrier, and transports with 1,000,000 people and 200,000 soldiers. They claimed 3 islands and split their forces between them. The colony was named Rhandon. Within 3 days oil was found on the smallest of the islands, Parlament Isle, 2 days later gold was found on another island, Clairk Isle, and 3 days later iron and the matierials to make aluminum were found on Rhandana, the biggest island.
The natives: The natives of my island are at a late 1800s stage, they were largley ignored by everybody, but themselves and are 1 country. They have accepted me as their leader without a fight for the tech. There are about 25 million total.

As was customary with archipelagic colonies of this nature, the colonists on each island had a referendum to decide upon a name for it. As such, it produced some very interesting names.

The colonists had all made it to the island. They were now working on building they're domiciles. They had all been specially selected for this mission on the basis of they're, physical traits, religious devotion, mental ability, and age. They were all about 20, and in excellent physical condition. They had all also attended schools run by the Path. They were also all highly intelligent. There were 240 of them, 40 men and 200 woman. They would live in a ratio of 1 man to every 5 woman. The goal was to rapidly increase they're numbers, in preparation for the next stage of the plan. By they're best estimates, they would have approximately 5,400 children born within twenty years, at which point the first generation born on the island would be reaching the age to begin reproduction. The first task would be to eliminate the natives on the island, as they would be a hindrance to the colonists plans.

Monday 6:27 PM

The storm had passed weeks ago, the fleet had reached safety and now the sun was beginning to set across the bay in the west. The breeze was very refreshing to Ambassador Mario Venzetti who had just arrived in Sarzano behind the Cookboroughan Fleet. Much to their discovery, Sarzano was already populated and a very developed place. It was fully in touch with the 21st Century.

Also much to their suprise, Sarzano wasn't nearly as large as previously thought but, they were a friendly people and spoke Italian. Ambassador Venzetti had arrived shortly after the first ships came, and discovered that they weren't alone.

His role wasn't entirely what it looked from the outside, he had been discussing other matters with the Sarzanese government over the past few weeks. The Sarzanese were very well aware of the new comers to the islands, they said to the northwest there were men calling the islands "Kemeral" or some nonsense. Ambassador Venzetti listened to their concerns and thought.

"What if...?"

"Have you considered coming under the protection of the Cookboroughan Government? We share the same language, customs, and laws. This move would benefit both Sarzano and Cookborough."

A recess was called for the Sarzanese President and Ministers to debate, and this would take some time. In the meantime Vanzetti could have a look around.

Palazzo Cresculio was the home of the government of Sarzano, which consisted of the largest island of the same namesake, the second largest island of Corsole, and little Gianna to the northwest. They had many years ago been ruled by a king who lived in this very palace. Now they were a democratic federation, much like Cookborough.

----

After several hours or so of looking around and then as he was about to return to a villa that had been provided for him, a man finally came and found the Ambassador and his staff and guards.

"They are ready, Signore."

The Ambassador walked back into the conference room and the President and his ministers were standing and he said to the ambassador this:

"We wish to discuss a treaty with Cookborough."

Over the course of the next several weeks they dicussed the points of the treaty. In fact at the end, Sarzano elected by popular vote to eventually become an autonomous part of Cookborough, but for the meantime become a protectorate.

President Adriana Snow traveled to Sarzano to greet the President and celebrate the joyous occasion. Over fireworks and champagne they celebrated the new partnership.

The current goal of the Sentient troops, other than protection of course was organising an army from the natives using modern technology. They were progressing well, as the native weapons were at about the WWII era, but they had no engines. In about 10 years, they could be turned into a modern army. Once that happened the Sentient army would pull out, leaving the 500,000 man native army to protect the colonies.

With resources discovered in abundance on the islands, new settlers began arriving in droves.

Kiravians of the Ieurlev ethnic group and its related peoples began settling on the exotically forested Green Ensign Island. The Fynnev and Kalistav immigrated to New Shetland. New Argyll's immigrants were made up mostly of poor rental farmers seeking their own land on the southern part of the island, and educated middle class Kiravians with industrial ambitions in the North. The Imperial Military set up bases on the three southern islands, accompanied by Echoese-Kiravian fishermen.

Although hundreds of colonists arrived every day, the Kiravians were still grossly outnumbered by the native Kemeralis. And with nearby islands being rapidly militarised, the Empire needed extra security.

The a complement 14th Imperial Legion, consisting of 20,000 men, was stationed in Karesta, to protect the colonies, and to keep the Kermeralis in line.

The initial potential confrontation was one over when a large shipment of Mokastana's finest tequila was brought in, pacifying both the natives and Mokan settlers. Soon enough they had made an agreement to be brought under the control of Mokastana and become citizens. All matters of importance were discussed as miners searched the islands for raw materials. Oil was found on one island and Uranium on another. It seemed that this region was full of natural recourses. Montana Inc was called in to build the oil derricks needed to get the crude oil out of the ground. Besides those prospectors also found valuable metals aluminum, gold and zinc in large quantities. Despite the issues with the recovery of the civil war and the border disputes with tatom this would be a great investment.

Cartographers had composed a map of the colony (see below). They were becoming prosperous, as the islands were abundant in rich resources. The cheers continued as the governor strode to the podium. Standing, arms raised, he awaited the quieting of the crowd. Finally, he looked about him, and said, "Friends and family alike, we stand here today at the brink of a new dawn. Our great colony shall rise as one of the mightiest, and we shall lead the way of the new Faxanavian empire!" The crowd roared, and governor Ballany drank it in, smiling widely.

Once the settlers and the military were in place, the colonial government was enstated.

Reyjá Northsea, an experienced and intelligent colonial leader, was sworn in as Governor-General of the Colony of Karesta. In front of the makeshift Pan-Christian chapel that he had been sworn in at, in the new capital city of Ishonia, he walked up to a podium and addressed his people.

In his Árkhav accent, he spoke:

"My fellow Karestans. It was not long ago that the first Kiravians set foot on the island of New Argyll. But now, our people have made their homes on every suitable island. They have begun what we, the Empire, have come here to do: Create a new part of Kiravian civilisation. And, with a formal colonial government, we shall continue that process."

"And can the Viscount Cahill assure the taxpayers that this latest escapade shall not be yet another ill-advised quest for gold and glory?"

Across from his Democratic Socialist counterpart who quickly returned to his seat amongst the vocal accolades of his fellow peers, Viscount Thomas Cahill smiled, backed by the hisses of the Conservative peers attempting to shout down the Loyal Opposition. As the rabble ebbed, Cahill rose and placed several papers on the podium before him.

"I can assure the people of the United Kingdom that the colonial enterprise in the King George Islands shall be of the most beneficial nature. His Majesty's Government has consulted with prospectors and geographical and geological analysts that have created a detailed brief about the potential for mining and resource extraction industries."

"While initial capital expenditure shall be high," Cahill continued on despite the attempted interruption of the Opposition, "with proper investment and oversight, public-private partnerships will mitigate the costs of colonisations transferred to the people of the United Kingdom."

"Additionally, economic forecasts predict that the colony shall make a return on the Government's investment by 2025 at which time the planned tax freeze shall end." As the din from the Democratic Socialists rose, Cahill decided he needed to expand upon the point for the future television audiences. "It is necessary to provide incentives to Oceanian and foreign businesses to make capital investments in these new islands. Given the current conditions, it is the opinion of the Government that a freeze on minimal corporate taxes should provide that incentive to the private sector. Lasting until 2012 shall be an exemption to income taxes for residents living and working in the colony. This will both stimulate a local consumer economy while providing a pull factor to potential immigrants."

"And of course, the Government shall be strenuously avoiding following what the Opposition must consider well-advised colonial models of New London, New Albion, et cetera." Cahill took his seat to an eruption of shouting and hissing and general bedlam in the chamber. He had of course made a reference to the imperial ambitions of the former Democratic Socialist government, ambitions that still hosted simmering insurrections and large garrisons of the Army. Essentially, they were holes into which the Government was still throwing money.

"Talk about a giant hole, mate," Colin Harper let out a long whistle before kicking a rock into a large and deep sinkhole. The rifleman heard a plink echo up from the bottom before looking over at his companion, another infantryman whose distant gaze had settled upon the snow-capped mountains dozens of kilometres off in the distance. "I said that it is a giant hole, Leo," Harper repeated a bit more loudly.

"I heard you the first time." Leonard Riley answered without shifting his gaze. "Does it worry you that after three hours we have not yet run into a single native?" Unlike Harper, whose hands were rolling a boulder towards the rim of the hole, Riley kept his fingers carefully on the grip of his rifle. Every so often, his eyes caught a quick movement in the forest. Then a rustle. Then a brief moment of silence amongst the noises of the native fauna.

"What?"

"Nothing. Roll your bloody boulder in and let us be done with this. Record it for future study."

"Yeah, one second, mate."

Less than a hundred metres from Harper and Riley, Nexal Atlai Tinex stood with face and arms and chest painted in dark and light greens, browns and greys. He stood motionless, a long wooden spear leaning against a tree with its sharp, hardened blade darkened to prevent the strange pale skinned persons from sighting a reflection of the sun. Tinex simply waited. He had been foolish before, moving too quickly and too loudly and so nearly noticed by the more alert pale skin. He simply hoped the two would depart soon and allow him to return home and report on the suspicious activity.

HMS Harrow
Off the Coast

She was the vanguard of the Oceanian colonisation effort, an amphibious assault ship with capacity to land her Royal Marine expeditionary unit by either helicopter or landing craft upon potentially hostile foreign inland fields or beaches. Commodore Adam Markham led the force, consisting of his flagship, two cruisers, two frigates, and two patrol ships to serve as the permanent naval force attached to the colony. There were also a few auxiliaries, but Markham knew those to be in flux, coming and going as the colony received tonnes of supplies necessary for initial construction programmes.

From the Admiral's bridge, despite his lower rank, Markham watched symbols representing helicopters flying to and from his flagship. Already, the Royal Marines had landed a small force to scout potential forward operating base locations. Satellite intelligence showed a significant native presence, and until the colony had enough support Markham–and not so coincidentally the Admiralty and Ministry of Defence–preferred more defensible sites distant from the larger settlements.

Unlike some colonies in the Oceanian Empire, this, Markham knew, would not be a tranquil settler colony. Settlements of a few hundred would have been manageable, but satellite photographs indicated settlements of a few hundred thousand in the interior, where initial climate models indicated necessary precipitation, given proper soil, to support such a population. Some settlements were located along the coast, but the largest appeared inland–the Office of Royal Navy Intelligence, as well as the Royal Intelligence Service, positing that such a situation indicated a distrust of the coast.

Governor Northsea did his job well. Within his first three weeks in office, advertisements were on the street corners of the Empire's major cities, inviting Kiravians to settle, and they worked. 14,000 colonists departed for Karesta from Kirav alone, with sums of 300-5,000 setting sail from Xirya, New Harbour, Ixicea, and Alåvora.

The economy was growing as well. The Ieurlev farmers had planted their first gourd and potato crops on Green Ensign Island, and a lumber industry had begun on Atonish Island. The Secriat of Commerce was collecting Imperial funds to invest in setting up manufacturing plants in New Argyll Island's major cities.

The Kemerali were turning out to be an excellent source of unskilled labour. The new plantations were well stocked with a a mix of Kiravian and Native workers. The government of the colony, seeking to lower the Settler/Native ratio, encouraged young Kemerali men to travel to Kirav and the tropical farming colonies as contract labourers.

They were also begginnign to become a nuisance however. Anticolonial sentiments were brewing in the larger native cities, and the stew of rebellion was reaching the boiling point.

The newly elected Governer of Rhandon, a native, Adam Sandler surveyed the new modernised capital, Rhaland City with pride. It was the first city in the colony to be modernised completely. There was a military base 1 mile to the east and a naval and airforce base inside the city. The army had been supplied with modernweapons and trained in thier usage. The city was only the first of all the cities to be modernised. The city was to become the naval headquarters and hopefully a shipbiulding center. Soon the new Kemeral army would take over responsability for the colony, although not in the air or on the sea, that would take much much longer. The natives had been complacent, as long as the Governer was a native. No rebelion wasn't a threat, Greston was the real threat. Sentient Beongs had clashed with them before and it was believed that this may happen again. There were other threats, but none so serius.

Small defense lines of mining areas, as well as homes were made and more and more animals and resources kept on popping up. After one trip to the mountains a small area of uranium was found, and that was after they found some oil near one of the little towns that the natives had set up. Two Nimitz had come over and dropped off soldiers and supplies. It was a week since the founding and claiming of Kemeral, it was time to let the word come and take their fare share of land. To Stalin John,

If the Arch Prior were here, even though he's not. He would probably tell you that all those in the BMP were killed, except one, who now sits, within your nation, near the border where the BMP disappeared, next to said BMP, buried up to his neck in the ground, with a water bottle taped to his head. He "should" still be alive, but he wouldn't promise anything, but he is not here so we do not know anything.

Medium-sized, Kiravian-style cities had sprung up all over the islands. Towns and boroughs of Kiravian-style houses were becoming a common sight. 1,320,428 Kiravians had come to Karesta to stay.

An economy was developing as well. Some factories to process timber, crops, minerals, and meat had been built. The Karestan government had convinced hardware companies to open plants on New Argyll Island.

But still, in comparison to most other Kiravian provinces, Karesta was still very much a frontier colony, based on primary industries and export to Kirav.

Mokan Cities were popping up left and right on the four islands. The fifth island was the sole property of the Montana Corperation, they were using it to grow all types of medical drugs and manufacturing them at massive rates. About 100 warehouses were being built for both domestic and foreign use.

On the mokan Islands, mines began popping up and digging up raw supplies for the benefit of the reconstruction of the Mejico region.

Mining was beginning to blossom as well. thousands of Kemeralis were hired to extract the mineral riches of the islands, with more Kiravians arriving as mineralogists, geological engineers, mechanics, and mine administrators.

With a non-agricultural export in place, factories to process ore were built. Others could be set up to make machinery and metal products later on. Fishermen, mostly Scädev- and Echoese-Kiravians, trawled the waters between the archipelago's landmasses, and an adventurous few began to venture futher out into the Exclusive Economic Zone, in search of better catches.

King George Islands

They seeped out of the jungle, by the dozens. Wearing coverings made from animal hides and fibres from native flora with their faces unpainted, the natives emerged onto a hastily cleared plain with charred and still smoldering trunks pushed into piles by bulldozers. At the tree line on the far side, a single Jaguar infantry fighting vehicle remained motionless, with Royal Marines slowly filling trenches and machine gun nests.

Lieutenant James Rodgers turned his head to his sergeant, "What do you think Sergeant?"

"They outnumber us, sir. Two, maybe three-to-one." He gave the young officer a cold stare, "I do not like it at all."

"At least we have the Jaguar," Rodgers muttered to himself, although the sergeant heard well the remark and allowed himself to smile just once–though for a very different reason than Rodgers.

With the natives, Tinex had traded his spear for a primitive firearm, used when his people needed to fight off tribes from the other islands attempting to seize their land. They were expensive weapons, usually reserved for the chieftain's most loyal–and most effective–warriors. But, as the scout who had identified the pale-skins, the chieftain had granted Tinex one of the firearms and command of a section of scouts armed with spears and short, bladed weapons.

Unlike the large force advancing slowly across the clearing, Tinex had led his scouts down into a deeply cut creek bed. They moved quietly along the bank nearest the pale-skins off a few hundred metres from their position a bit further from another position occupied by other pale-skins. Within minutes Tinex had led his scouts into the forest where they swung to the west.

Rodgers looked over at his sergeant, "safeties off, Sergeant."

"Yes, sir."

The lieutenant watched as his sergeant passed the order to his unit, spread out along the tree line behind a small, gentle ridge up whose slope the natives would have to advance. He never noticed a squawking bird that flew up into the deep blue skies, pocked with white cumulus cloud. Instead, his attention focused on the clouds of grey and black that covered the plain and the gunshots that tore across the clearing.

Suddenly Rodgers heard one of his men scream. He glanced to his right and found one of the Royal Marines laying upon the grass with blood gathering around a newly-ripped hole in his upper left arm. The line quickly returned fire, the riflemen taking controlled shots while his machine guns saturated the grounds ahead of his unit. The Jaguar IFV quickly added its fury to Oceanian fire, tearing large holes in the earth sending several natives back to the forest in full flight.

Then Rodgers discerned a different gunshot from behind him, and his machine gun stopped firing. He looked up at the post and found the assistant hurriedly shoving an incapacitated–and probably dead from the sickening angle of the neck–gunner away from the trigger to rapidly resume firing upon the natives. A sudden and sickening scream then alerted him to something else behind him, where upon turning he found face-painted natives spearing one of his men.

"What the–" he never finished his thought, as an unseen Tinex had managed to reload his firearm and get off another round, one that ripped into Rodgers' throat. As he slipped to the ground he found that further near the tree line were several more Royal Marines with their throats slit and covered in blood.

An hour later, the Royal Marine position was barren. Tinex looked across the clearing where dozens upon dozens of his tribesmen lay dead or dying. Behind him, dozens of pale-skins mixed with his scouts. He had managed to take several alive although the majority of the survivors had entered into the massive beast that had fought beside them until fleeing to the west. Within half an hour, Tinex led his scouts back out of the forest along with his new prisoners and the wounded–the dead carefully buried. The pale-skins would probably return, he thought, and from the distant tree line a scout would report two hours after the battle that strange, massive beasts had arrived with long protrusions and covered from above by strange flying beasts that caused great storm winds upon the ground.

Not all were happy with Cookborough's annexation of Sarzano, particularly the people of Corsole. They were had not even like the three islands uniting as one nation.

"Maybe the Sarzani and Gianni are okay with these foreigners coming in and taking control, but we are Corsoli, proud and strong!"

These were the words coming from Diulio Agrimanni, leader of the newly formed "Corsole First Party". They were being held responsible for the civil disturbances.

The Arch Prior had been on the Island for a two weeks now. Most of the woman were already pregnant, and the plan was going off with out a hitch. Soon there would been a need for schools to instruct the new children in the way of the path, and train them for the fight that would come. Until than, the Arch Prior need only bide his time, and wait in his mansion that had been carved out of the earth, like many of the other homes, and buildings on the island. The had special pumps so they would not flood, and it was cooler below ground.

work was coming along smoothly, the smallest island was now the sole property of the Montana Corporation. The plentiful mountains insured lots of mining operations and the farms were soon producing more food then the colonist and natives would need. The islands seemed like a godsend...
