This is the OOC thread covering the coronation of the third Empress of the Tanaran Empire. The Tanaran Empire is in the Hoag Object some 600,000,000 Light Years from Earth. Our nearest neighbor is the Celestial Imperia Nova Nippon and a few other Interstellar polities.

We are, at this time, open to diplomatic exchange, if you would like to have an ambassador from your nation accredited to the Imperial Court of Tanara, please, post some information about your nation and the ambassador you wish to send.

If you wish to attend the coronation and the festivities please be advised that while the bearing of weapons is legal within the Empire, one does not carry weapons of war (IE military arms & armor) while at the Court - if you have culturally relevant traditional / personal weapons and armor that might be dubious- please, post IN CHARACTER, as sending an enquiry first as to whether they are acceptable.

Tanara has no holdings on NS earth however we are well known to several nations on NS earth and they too are welcome to send ambassadors.

Please I will not welcome any terrorist actions /assassination attempts, invasions or general attempts to disrupt these events, the parties and other festivites planned. This is a come, meet, greet find friends and allies and have fun thread.

Lets try and keep all the ooc chatter out of the IC thread - so feel very free to post it here or you are very welcome to TG me.

Posting this here as well...it is very important to note - unless you really wish to lose a ship and start and interstellar incident...



Like all the major systems in the Empire, the Asgard system was a ‘restricted’ system. Visiting starships arrived in-system within the Frankel Limit Zone, checked in with the nearest System Defense Fortress, received clearance and proceeded inward at what ever level clearance they had been given. Silver Level authorization was for transit inbound and out at sub light only. Gold authorization allowed for a micro jump- if the craft had the technology for such – to the orbit of Hel, then sublight from there. Platinum authorized a direct micro jump to the reserved coordinates closest to Midgard. The arrival area was a massive area of space well above the plane of the ecliptic, but arriving ships had to vacate the area promptly as there were too many inbound and out bound arrivals. However the very professionally staffed traffic tower at Transfer Point made the confusion look easy as they sorted craft into to parking zones, arranged for docking at either Transfer Point itself or one of the many other facilities, or vetted request for orbital positions.

Arriving at any where other than the Frankel Limit without prior permission and the proper codes would get a Non Empire craft blown into component atoms very tidily with an attitude of ‘solve the threat first ask questions later’ attitude. The Asgard Planetary Defense took the safety of their Empires home system Very seriously. And they had never been issued a sense of humor. This information was standard knowledge and had also been sent out with every invitation issued.

Really? I don't recall that in the book, surely they'd have continued to use the inversion drive if that were the case. So... You don't blow up your galaxy when you try it? Well, I can see why you might not want to. What about the inversion of experiences and living in each others' memories? None of that fun stuff either?

and unfortuantely the books aren't part of cannon, but if you look at the Transwarp drive mentioned in later Star Trek, it's alimited version of it - some where I saw a note specificalyy stating that.

Living each others memories - oh that was such a fun read- and I do think that might well happen but to a lesser exten when used on a normal basis - remember it ws said that it wasn't so much as living each others memories ( though that was indeed a part of it ) as the realization that 'the ship was in touble' and acting to deal with that in the context of the memory settings.

Note: Use of Tanaran Transporters - nanite loads detected, cataloged, if harmful/deleterious, or so alien as we can not classify them - they will be extracted from the information matrix and discussed pirvately later with the being who's matrix they were removed from. Also medical conditions will be noted and individual advised later.

In Reply to Ctan's OOC (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13398022&postcount=124)- Actually 'Spun' is a misnomer - I could not think of the proper term ( all my books are packed away in storage at the moment and I didn't think to try and find the idea on- line-) - call it a "world in a bubble"

as did the characters in one of my favorite authors, Dana Stabenow, - in her second sci-fi offering A Handful of Stars talks about taking a large asteroid, doing a to the center/core drilling, planting a suitable sized nuke and then spinning the asteroid as the nuke is detonated- the resulting bubble of asteroid is hollow on the inside - a rough sphere on the outside, and you build your 'world' on the inside surface of the bubble, which of course is spinning to provide the gravity and there are polar lenses/ waste heat diffusers. She does a much better explaination of it than I do

But that is what I mean by 'spun'...my fault for being inadequate to describe or come up with a name to fit my mental image.

Imperial Isa, I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, but I feel it is necessary to speak now to you. It's clear that English may not be your primary language of use, and this is not what I'm going to talk about. Rather, I'm going to speak about your participation thus far in the thread.

I'm sure I can speak for everyone else when I say that your participation in the thread has been appreciated, helping to create a story for all to remember. However, I do have to point out that I've noticed your roleplaying has been scattered, frustrating to follow at times, and even making no sense.

Take for example your last post, post #338. I quote:

If you took the time to actually READ the thread, you'd know exactly what was going on, even if you've been forced to not keep up for a few days in a row. That happens to all of us, but at least give yourself, and everyone else the courtesy of acknowledging that you've read the thread up to the point that it has come to exist. Your Lady Black is an ambassador, and she already knows why she's there. She's there to witness the coronation of a new empress for the Empire of Tanara. That's pretty much clear as crystal now for anyone involved.

As for the parade and the challenge being issued right now, once again, it's a matter of actually READING the thread. Read it. Respond accordingly (hint: there was a challenge given to all ambassadors by the old lady. Respond as you feel Black would respond.), follow along with the story.

Lastly, this is more of a personal thing, but I'm really trying to be supportive of you here. Please try to add in more to your posts other than a single sentence or two (like the post I quoted from the IC thread). It not only is useful to describe the many things that can happen at any given point (emotions, thoughts, activity surrounding the character, etc), but it helps the rest of us pick something out of YOUR posts that may be relevant to our own characters to actually respond to. That is cooperative roleplaying. That, is storytelling.

Tarlachia English is my primary language but i have dyslexia mix with bad schooling so wirthing and so is not top wihch is a pain to you and to me every day

she can't really answer for the people when she is a guest on behalf of Imperial and all the other ISA races which is why i posted the post you have quoted which having more time to thinking on i was going to edit it

Imperial Isa, my apologies then. I was unaware of the situation regarding your dyslexia. I'm glad to see you're making an effort to overcome it though, and that's always a good thing. It says a lot about your personality. While I don't have dyslexia myself, I do have what is classified as "severe hearing loss" (50% loss in both ears), so I hope that tells you something about my own personality in regards to overcoming challenges to myself.
