The government of Ad'ihan congratulates Scandonia on entering the international fold. As your fine country happens to be in The Heartland, we would like to extend the offer of an Ad'ihani envoy in Scandonia.

The Senate has approved Mr. François Pluie for the post of Ambassador, should your government agree to accept an Ad'ihani envoy. The Federal Government has also given Mr. Pluie his blessings.

Mr. Pluie will be accompanied by five armed bodyguards. The Federal Government in Liverpool England will make further arrangements for other staff if necessary.

Dear Mr Owens,

Thank you for your expedient reply and acquiescence of our request; it is much appreciated. We have analysed Mr Brown's credentials and find him to be a most suitable and exciting candidate for the post of Ambassador of Manhattan Prime to Scandonia, but before we accept we simply need to know whether he speaks Scandonian or Dutch, and to what degree he is knowledgeable in either language.

The latter is included, despite not being an official language, because he will be meeting with His Majesty, King Christian III, on a regular basis. The King is learning English, but is not fluent, so he is still more comfortable conversing in either Scandonian or Dutch, the languages of his domain. If Mr Brown speaks Dutch but not Scandonian he will still be able to engage in comfortable conversation with His Majesty during their twice-yearly meetings. However, if Mr Brown does not speak at least conversational Scandonian, it will likely be of no consequence, as I assure you we simply cannot pass up the opportunity to work with such a distinguished individual. Thusly, we will appoint a translator for the convenience of both Mr Brown and any Scandonian officials, and His Majesty, where English is not understood by both parties present.

In other news, we are pleased to propose a candidate for Ambassador of Scandonia to Manhattan Prime. Subject to your approval, we suggest Mr Hans-Christian Forsching, the former King's Commissioner in the province of Herenland, in Scandonia's northeast. Mr Forsching, aged 51, is an accomplished barrister and politician with an extensive knowledge of Manhattan Prime's politics, history, culture and government, and fluency in English and Japanese. He is an effective communicator with well-honed interpersonal skills and has proven his management abilities through his position as the liaison between His Majesty and the regional government in Herenland during his time as Koninkskommissarte. Mr Forsching received his Bachelor of Laws from the School of Advanced Legal Sciences, Manxburg, in 1979. He received a Master of the Arts in public administration from Erasmus University, Korendam, in 1981. He served as a city councillor in Manxburg from 1986 to 1993 before becoming King's Commissioner in 1994. He served in that capacity until 2004 and has been practicing law in Manxburg since then.

The Bazalonian government wishes to welcome the Kingdom of Scandonia onto the world stage. At this stage we would like to offer an embassy exchange to your government. As such we would like to offer Mr Daniel Johnson as our Ambassador-appointee, should he be accepted by your government.

Along with the ambassador, general staff containing 12 persons, 10 Bazalonian Federal Police, Security and Protection division, to provide security for the embassy. In addition to Trade, security, defense and cultural attaches. An additional Aide as well as his 2 young daughters (8 and 10 years old), and older teenage son (15 years).

The Bazalonian goverment will provide a purposely design diplomatic limousine (Verona Lear) and an armoured town car for their use.

Ambassador Forsching is highly acceptable to the Imperial Republic, and he may take up residence in Manhattan as his leisure. You will be pleased to hear the ministry has done its homework, and Brown was especially selected as he has a Dutch speaking wife, so his knowledge of that language should be adequate for him to get by in conversation with His Majesty.

He has no knowledge of Scandonian as our schools are not yet up with scratch with the language, something we can cooperate to look into. As with any of diplomats on a long-term posting he will be expected to learn the language as quickly as possible and must look to yourselves to provide adequate language tuition, which we appreciate greatly.

We look forward to greater relations in the future.

The newly-formed government of the United Islands of Ad'ihan, now independent, would like to withdraw the nomination of Mr François Pluie as Ad'ihani Ambassador to Scandonia.

The Senate is in the process of approving a new Ambassador, but we would like to inform your government that a Scandonian representative in Ad'ihan would be very welcome.

The new ambassador to Scandonia will be accompanied by five armed bodyguards, an Ambassadorial aide, as well as a deputy ambassador (a Consul, to be based in a different city from the ambassador). Secretarial staff will be hired in Scandonia, if possible.
