History
The PP-76 (Pistolet-Pulemyot 76), was designed by Ivan Viktorovich Bogov
(son of General Viktor Bogov) in 1995 after receiving permission from Heckler und
Koch to make a licensed variant of the MP5 that fired Eastern Bloc style
ammunition that is easier to produce in Serkozache due to the number of
munitions factories built there in Soviet times, and the large stock pile of such
ammunition. The PP-76 "Sokol" is virtually the same as the H&K MP5A3 and A2
except for some minor change besides it being rechambered, the Sokol has a
redesigned straight magazine, redesigned selector with Cyrillic markings, and a
eight position stock and increased rate of fire. Production began in 1997 and this
weapon currently serves in all branches of the Serkozache Armed Forces includi-
ing the Police. The Sokol is easy to produce, simple to use, effective, and
reliable.
