Yanitaria will be doubling it's military to 8 million troops. Brigadier Jean Sabatier had this to say.

"We try to keep our military well trained, but when you spend one million USD on 1 soldier, you hit a point where they aren't gonna get any better. I feel the move is a solid one."

Yanitarian military analysts speculate that Yanitaria will still have some of the best trained soldiers in the region, while increasing it's ability to project power abroad. President Norheim has said that it is entirely a defensive move, meant to ensure peace in the region. He also notes that it will ensure that no trouble breaks out between Kenny and several other nations. This recent move is also related to the increased spending on the Gendarmes, the main police force of Yanitaria.

The president has also met with his allies to stem the "Gibraltar conflict" and has Convinced Surailian Prime minister Bernhardt and Chairman Gaultier to withdraw hostilities towards Kenny.

Norheim has also protested the decision by Surailia to close of it's border with Kenny to all but trade headed towards other nations.

We congratulate the nation of Yanitaria on they're expansion of they're military forces. The people of Yanitaria can now sleep even sounder knowing these brave men and woman are out there keeping watch over they're homes. Protecting them as they sleep. This truly is a great day for Yanitaria and it's people. One day they will look back at the one most defining moment of this year, and this will be it. We also would like to take a moment to say something to ----Kenny----, we are truly sorry. This military expansion is what is best for the region, with such powerful nation, no one would think of attempting any type of military action within Europa Atlantica, without fearing the nations that reside there. If Edwardo Listless were here today, he would congratulate Yanitaria, and it's people, with far more feeling and conviction than I ever could. It's times like this that I truly miss him. We hope that this event will help to bring the entire region closer, and unite us in a common cause. Finally I would just like to say, may the Great Bob bless all of you.
