President Norheim waited on the helipad, wearing a suit much in the same style his father liked. In his pocket where two antique pens.
Although he did not know it, he stood on the same spot his father did the last time Emperor Christian I visited.

OOC: Assuming we had previously arranged this, so arriving right now; intro post now, but I’ll have to get off shortly
The Errikan helicopter flew lower through the Yanitarian skies; the Emperor looked out the window at the familiar skyline of the capital, recalling the last time he had so looked at it. Soaked in the dried blood of the late Yanitarian president, he had found himself deep in a personal internal struggle of his own, brought on by the man’s sudden and violent death beside him. The country that he was then leaving also saw substantial internal struggle brought on by the good President Norheim’s death, or, rather, started with it. In the darker aspects of his rule, Norheim had made use of a very covert operational group, Les Enfants Perdus, to advance his nation in, quite frankly, a rather underhanded and treacherous way; Baudoin had taken the success of this to heart, and made use of the group to advance his own personal interests, at the cost of the blood of Norheim, along with many others of his countrymen. Ultimately he got justice, however, as light was shed on the true nature of his rise to power and a vote of the people empowered the son of his predecessor, Frederick Norheim, whom he now flew to meet.
Funny, how it had come full circle; when he had arrived before, the country had come to great power through this dishonesty, this cloak and dagger treachery, and as he arrived now the nation had been devastated by this, had paid the price in blood, and could now move forward.
Now the helicopter lowered to the heliport atop the Errikan embassy, where the young Frederick Norheim awaited the meeting with the last man to see his father alive. As he watched the new president and the heliport grow nearer, Emperor Christian I sincerely hoped that this would end better than the last meeting he had had with a President Norheim in Yanitaria beginning on this heliport.
“Hello,” he smiled as he stepped down from the helicopter, “President Norheim, I am Emperor Christian.”

Norheim stepped up to the man and shook his hand. "Good evening, Emperor. I trust your flight was pleasant? Come, we should go to the dining room. The chef has prepared a wonderful meal for the occasion.
OOC: Yeah, no problem assuming it was already arranged. I am off for the night, I have finals all this week. English and French tomorrow, which sucks.

"Yes, it was," he said pleasantly, firmly returning Norheim's handshake, "A meal, you say? That would be excellent. Good food is a very important catalyst for good conversation for Errikans."
OOC: Sorry for the delay. My time has been not only limited but unstable.

OOC: No problem.
IC:
"That's good to know! Our chef, he is a good man, from France. He will only be here for a while though," Norheim said as he walked through the halls into the dinning room, with it's large, bullet proof glass windows, "I am letting our holdings in Europe go, and he will be returning to his homeland."

"You are?" Christian asked, a hint of surprise in his voice, "You are granting them independence, then? Or turning them over to someone else?"

"We are granting them independance."
OOC: Because I decided the real world doesn't exist.

OOC: That's okay, I can have characters read a lot into nothing.
“Interesting,” he mused; it seemed that the young Norheim wished for a fresh slate, to cleanse his nation of the machinations of past administrations. Or perhaps he just thought that they would have difficulty maintaining them effectively, that, at this point, they would be more trouble than they are worth. Or maybe he, or his general political support, was supportive of their independence on that very principle.
“Given what has happened to your nation as of late, what are your plans for the future?”

"Well, I am currently building up our navy and airforce to respectable levels. I am trying to pull my nation out of the recession, but in the long run, there are more than a few nations in the region that might cause trouble, and I'd like to see the violence be put to an end."

“That is a most sound position, as one never knows what a nation might face; a recession, though?” he asked, walking with Norheim to the dining room, “Perhaps the Empire could be of help? We could certainly bring in some great investment as well as extensive capital for loans, both of which would likely speed growth.”

"Certainly. We are especially looking for contractors. There is a lot of buildings that need to be built, roads that need to be laid, and such. Since Yanitaria is growing richer, we will need the infrastructure to keep up with it."
They had arrived in the dining room. The table was large, but only set for two, a pair of Butlers pulled out a chair for the respective leaders.

“Infrastructure is crucial, and I’m sure that we could be helpful in that arena; infrastructural development was one of the earliest priorities of the Empire’s economic program after the civil war, and has been a cornerstone to the development of our colonies. Many of our people consider us the distant heirs to the Romans, our infrastructure thus being the heir to their own, I suppose, so that sort of development is second nature.
“But here I babble,” he chuckled, approaching the table.

"I think you will like the wine to be served. It was one of the first bottles made using the techniques of Yanitarian and Errikan vintners."
Norheim and the Emperor were seated, and the wine was poured.
"So tell me, what is Errikland in need of?"

“To be honest, what we need is more foreign consumers; family farmers, who are a sizable portion of our population, are able, thanks to technological advances in the past century and a half, to produce far more than we need, and dramatic overproduction of agricultural goods means that prices are unstable. This problem is present in industrial production as well, though it is nowhere near as pronounced.”
He inhaled deeply over the glass, pausing for a moment.
“This seems most promising.”

"Well, Yanitaria needs goods. Not so much agricultural goods, but as our focus moves away from industry and more towards the service sector, we will need to supplement our existing industrial capacity.
"Plus, at the moment, the arms industry dominates. There isn't much call for anti-tank mines on the civvie market, as you can understand."
Norheim smiled, "Yes, I quite enjoy the wine. I have completely given up every other form of alcohol, except absinthe."

“Ah, absinthe,” he said, “That would seem to be a particular Yanitarian favorite; I have always enjoyed wine, though far from exclusively. Cereal and Apple based liquors are very popular in Errikland, as those crops are grown throughout the nation, while vineyards are highly concentrated in the south, and I myself have become partial them to an extent.
“Errikan production can undoubtedly pick up where your country’s own production leaves off."
