Terrorist Attack Hits City Centre: Hundreds Dead

Blaenau

Room 13
Somewhere deep below the Senate House
BARK Meeting Room

"Well, gentlemen, I expect you know why we are all here" opened Prince Llewellyn. Whilst he was not much involved in the running country, he chaired the BARK committee, as well as several other 'hidden' organisations. Present were First Marshal Duke Aryn, Air Chief Commander Duke Flyn and High Admiral Duke Regentth from the Prince's Royal Forces, plus 'Commander One' of the Intelligence and Home Security service (IHS), the Minister for Defence Gruffydd Cadell, National Minister Llewellyn Jenkins and, of course, Prime Minister Aaron Bowen.

"Today, at around 8:40, several bombs were detonated across the capital Brynsadler. Two hit the tube lines, another was detonated in Bryn North Station, and one more failed to go off on the number 12 Bus as it passed the Central Clock Tower. Prime Minister?"

"Thank you, your Highness. Well, all of these areas are, of course, cordoned off. Minister Jenkins has sent an urgent telegram to our neighbours, warning them of the attack and advising that this could be part of a larger plot involving our region. The Emergency Services have, on the whole, coped very well with the situation. High-threat targets, such as the Palace, the Senate and official residences have been evacuated and are now being heavily guarded by the police service. First Marshal Aryn, could you give the order to mobilise the Bryn Garrison to take over protection of these areas?"

"Certainly, Prime Minister."

"Excellent. Air Chief Commander Duke Flyn and High Admiral Duke Regentth, as you are aware, you are our first line of defense against threats coming into Blaenau from overseas. I want the Blaenau Defense Regiment on immediate readiness and I'd like to send out our Home Shores Defense Fleet on patrols, just in case."

"Yes Prime Minister" they chorused.

"Good. Commander, do we have any idea who committed this atrocity yet?"

"Well, Mr Bowen (the Commander only addresses Royalty by their title, due to the fact that he does not 'officially' exist), no-one has yet stepped forward to claim responsibility. This could mean one of two things: they haven't finished their days work yet, or it was a small-time terrorist faction. Sadly, I suspect the latter. This attack was far too well-planned and co-ordinated to come from some two-bit organisation. We also think it may be linked to the recent take-over of Bolada, or possibly our claims in South-East Asia, although due to the relative calm, I again prefer the first option."

"Well, keep up the work. We simply must find out who is responsible, and how we can catch them. Now Gentlemen, Your Highness, I must attend a news conference. Contact me if anything else urgent comes up. Thank you."

With that, he bowed to the Prince, then hurried out. Following this, the Prince rose from his seat, followed by the others in the room, concluded the meeting and thanked them for their hard work and dedication.
