IC:
The remains of an ork came crashing down to the earth once more in a bloody mess, charred and lifeless. The baneblade moved quickly over the remains of the corpse, and over the hundreds of other xeno filth that littered the battlefield as the regiments from the Seventh Novus Terra swept forwards in an unending slaughter. The guardsmen following the mighty tank as it rumbled ahead, flanked by leman russ tanks and chimeras. Lasgun and plasma pistol lashed forth, burning through the exposed hides of the foul xenos who charged in their own right, too stupid to be scared.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
The battlecry of the beasts reverberated throughout the plain, reaching all ears as the ork hordes swarmed forwards, their numbers quickly thining under the firepower of the Imperium. Still, it disheartened some, and forced them to stop and dig into cover, lest they be caught in the open and mowed down by the random slug, or cut down when they got close enough.
"What is this cowardess?!"
The commissars were ruthless men, and upon seeing the soldiers under their command haulting the advance and hiding, they began to unleash their own rounds into a few friendly backs, cursing and ordering the soldiers to rise and continue the assault.
"The Emperor commands it!" they bellowed with fury, "The Emperor demands that you charge these beasts and clense this planet of their fould existance!"
"Glory to the Imperium!"
"Glory to the God-Emperor!"
And with this they once again charged, clashing with the orks in a bloody mess. Limbs were hacked off, and skulls taken as trophies by the beasts, their superior strength making it nearly impossible for the guardsmen to contend in the fray, and their seemingly unending numbers filling the places of those they did kill.
Thrown aside, the guardsmen quickly crawled away from the scene of the atrillery strike as it commenced, earthshaker rounds from mighty basilisks sitting far out of reach for the green tide unleashed their fury upon the aliens, giving much needed support to the soldiers of the Imperium. Seeing this opening in the battle, the armored columns rushed forth, ripping the orks apart with their guns and crushing them under their treads.
And then, seemingly from the heavens themselves, a ray of golden light descended into the thick jungle that stood at the back of the orcs, and was quickly joined by many more. The lance batteries from the orbiting fleet came online in a hellish display that burned the alien refuge and all that were within. This bombardment the fleet kept up, slicing a path through the green tide, thinning it to simply a wave, until half of the thick vegetation was now smouldering ruins and glass. Seeing that their reinforcements were now dead, and that their hideouts were gone, the orcs were finally afraid, and were cast down by the hoards of men who fired their lasguns into their flesh unendingly.
