British Londinium

Had it been that long since the Commonwealth withdrew into the shrouds of isolation? The heat of Deva Victrix had blinded many a Londinian to the passage of time. The tropical diseases racing through the Rorarian Mountains, frequent, deadly monsoons, and suffocating humidity were enough to numb the country's desire to interact with the outside world. Desperately clinging on, trying to regain normalcy, and simply surviving in this land was difficult enough for many.
When evaluating Londinian policy options regarding foreign affairs, it is the opinion of the Crown that we would be best served through a stance of isolationism. Though I am aware that my influence over our national policy is nominal at best, the monarchy feels that the only way to survive is to prioritize domestic and defense spending, not resuming our formerly active role in international politics.
For a time, the empress' decree on the matter had been followed by the Parliament. Funding diverted, the Europe-sized island was transformed, piece by piece, into a more bearable place. Forests were cleared, farms built, streets paved, subways burrowed in the earth. While it would never be home, never be the land so cruelly wrested from the Londinians by Automagfreek, Deva Victrix represented the hopes and dreams of billions.
Sweat ran down Consul Stark's brow, mixing with the few tears rolling down his face. Even after years, the tropical heat of Nyquist was still difficult to bear, and though the consul loved his new home, the city brought back memories of Kensington, where he raised a daughter, now lying dead in a weed-covered avenue in British Londinium, and where he married a long-lost love, who was also dead, though she had been cleanly vaporized by a nuclear warhead.
The majority of the capital's ninety million residents shared similar memories. Friends, family, lovers, citizens, yeomanry, xenophii, all united under the common specter of death, all lost to time. For this reason, the country would eternally be at war.
The signs of this titanic struggle against, well, the world, were everywhere. Sentry guns occupied strategic perches atop the street lights, next to the pervasive public announcement systems. Soldiers and (excessively) armed police officers lined the corners, and the military was constantly kept at the highest state of defensive readiness. Fifteen years after the Vivicide, and finally British Londinium had reclimbed near the peak of its power.
"Canvassing," muttered one of the turrets from a street light, its bright red laser sweeping over the sidewalk before disappearing, waking the consul from his reverie. At least, Stark reassured himself, civil liberties had yet to be touched. The Coalition government, despite its paranoia, was not willing to go so far as to limit the rights of the citizens, yeomanry, and federates. As for the xenophii, well, that was another, rather unpleasant story. The executions last year, of several xenophii charged with espionage, were rather unpleasant. Having one's brains devoured by a headcrab (a genetically engineered creature originally designed as a biological weapon, occasionally debeaked and used as a housepet) was not a pretty way to go.
"Consul, I'm, er, waiting for a reply..." said his personal assistant, Liz, impatiently. She had been relaying the day's communiques on his daily walk.
"Ah, terribly sorry, Liz," Stark said. "Tell Her Majesty that the Coalition Government...no longer shall remain - no, scratch that - hide on our island fortress and shirk our chance at glory in the international arena. Does that sound too bad? Agh, I should be able to say something better."
"No, not at all, sir," the secretary replied. "I'll make sure the message comes out better. Heat's probably getting to you, sir."
"Right, right," the Consul said, turning the corner. "And I want you draft a letter for me in a bit."
"What should I do in the meantime?"
"Take a break for a few hours. Shop or something. Whatever it is that floats your boat."

To all nations:
It is with great pleasure that I announce the revival of the Londinian Commonwealth, and its withdrawal from the isolation with which our nation has pursued dogmatically over the past decade and a half. To celebrate our resumption of influence throughout the world, the Commonwealth will be sailing a fleet of vessels around the world, filled with diplomats and ambassadors, to rekindle old relations with allies and forge new ones with hitherto unknown nations. Please respond forthwith if you are willing to provide a friendly port during their travels.
Ex corona, æquitas!
Sincerely,

Emperor William laid the copy of British Londinium's Communiqué upon his desk.
"Oh boy," he remarked. "I wonder how this will turn out."
General of the Air Force Salazar T. Sherman spoke up. "I can have satellites monitor the movement of their ships. If they make any suspicious moves, we can be the first to know-and act."
The Emperor nodded. "A good idea, General. Make it so."

With Emperor Droma's death mere months ago, the new government - now in the power of five, rather than one - had choices to make and policies to decide. British Londinium had been wary at best, hostile at worst on the Amazonian diplomatic listings (it seemed every neutral nation was listed as "wary"). But there was always time to change. The Londinians had been out of the spolight for a while since several past beat-downs, and now the Amazonians wanted to probe the former attention-getters. The Dominion knew well-enough not to allow for potential strikes by the Londinian fleet in an underhanded attack...but a peaceful harbor didn't have to be a weaponless harbor, either.
Amazonian Communications
Though friendly diplomatic relations were never a consideration with histories of both nations, the Amazonian Dominion is willing to provide a harbor for the Londinian fleet's diplomatic mission around the globe in Oceana, naval hub of the Dominion.

Presidential Gardens, Yarkai City
President James Hogart walked through the tranquil Presidential Gardens. He would come here when he needed to think about important matters such as war and civil unrest. But this time the thoughts were about an old enemy appearing on the international stage once more. This greatly troubled the President, mainly because even during peacetime, the Londinians always threatened the Cazelian government, but the Cazelian people still tolerated the death and suffering. And with IDMC forces away in Greal, it would be unfortunate (To say the least) if the Londinians tried an attack Cazelia

Greetings, yet again. We have not forgotten what the Londinians have done to us in the past, but now is the future, and we are willing to put that behind us for good. We are willing to allow an ambassador on our native soil. And we'd recommend you stay away from southern Xanadou: The new Kal'Har state is rather 'touchy' about the biocide thing.
Sincerely,
The Rt. Hon
James Hogart

President jackson sat back on his chair as his hands were on the smooth varnished oak like desk filled with papers and other ornately decorated trinkets, he placed his pen down and through t a bit, leaning back on his leather chair, he swiveled a bit his blue eyes peering strait out of the window, out to the bustling major city several miles away, he sighed a bit moving back to his desk turning and pressing an intercom button. he said with a content voice.
"Delores, would you mind sending a letter to British Londinium, for me, pass it through secretary of state kayborn."
"Yes Mr president" a soft female voice responded through the cold speaker, the president placed his copy of the letter on to a scanner type machine, and several moments later it had appeared on Secretary of state bester kayborns desk for signature , al though it was not required for him to sign it it showed that people at all levels of government were involved in the process of foreign affairs. with a wave of a hand he signed it and placed it in an envelope, he also scanned a copy to send via net to foreign power.
The United Democratic States of the federal union, welcomes British Londinium back in to the world, but warns that any such aggressive and genocidal moves as it has done in the past, will not be tolerated by the federal government. In furtherance we will keep an eye on your country, if you are on a path of good will, and reformation we will support you and trade with you, if you decided to return to your old ways we will shun you and isolate you, or if worse comes to worst, intervene to stop another mad man from causing untold amounts of damage.
President of the Democratic Federation Sam Jackon
Secretary of state bester kayborn
It had been a while since anyone in Zoingo had ever heard of the nation of British Londinium, in fact, in the decade in a half that they went into isolation, thoughts about if the people were alive and well after such an atrocity soon faded. But this supprise swept across the nation, as everyone finally knew, that the once an powerfull nation, still lived on. The horrors of the past of what they did, and what was done to them, now came back into the minds of everyone, but there was hope yet.
Official Communique
Our relations may not have ever been classified as "close" or even good, but we find that this can give us a second chance to finally make friends with the Londinii. We offer our city of Port Royal, to discuss free trade between us, as well as restore diplomatic ties. We hope that British Londinium can shine again on the world stage, just like it did over a decade and a half ago.
Sincerely,
Erick Henderson
International Ambassador
Official Greal Statement

The reappearance of the Londinians was a major topic of conversation in the Empire, especially in the Imperial Province of Skgorria. The Skgorrians had always held the Londinians in high regard, not only for their bravery but because they were one of the few nations who had held out the hand of friendship to Skgorria.

To the Rt. Hon. Andrew Stark, MP,
Greetings to our Londinian friends! We would be most delighted to host your delegation and will open the use of Port Facility Primary, the main port for Megalopolis Primary, for your vessels.
It has been a long time since our two nations have spoken, and let me say that I feel it has been far too long. If there is anything that the Empire of the Wolf can provide, be it construction material to simple humanitarian aid then ask! It shall be provided.
May you lead the Londinian people to always march in His Pawprints

The Imperial Arcologies of Fortriu, Caledonia, Pictavia
The Consul had just risen from bed, and was enjoying the sunrise break over the hills of Fortriu when an aide hurriedly fell through his apartments doors. Gaius half turned, but reasserted his gaze onto the horizon while the flustered figure composed himself. Between short gasps for breath, the aide managed to speak,
"Sir... sir.... I think you may be interested in this. The Londinians are preparing a fleet of vessels for a diplomatic tour. They are returning to the world"
Gaius winced slightly. 'Londinians preparing a fleet' was less than ideal for Pictavia, especially with the series of conflicts between the two nations which dot their history. Measures would have to be taken,
"Alert the Commander and have him prepare a surveillance unit for the fleet. I'll draft the Pictish reply personally at my terminal. That'll be all"
The aide offered a short nod then left the room, and Gaius slumped into his great leather chair by his personal terminal. Londinians...

Imperial Communiqué
To The Londinian Commonwealth:
I am aware that no formal peace treaty exists between the Pictish Imperium and Londinium, yet would the spirit of peace ever deter the Commonwealth from its unreasonable aggression? I doubt it.
Regardless of the past, we would house an unarmed diplomatic envoy in our waters in the interest of preserving our fragile cease-fire, and perhaps Londinium would even discuss domestic policy and law in order to avoid further conflict? The alternative is of course, the survival of war as the key communicator between our children.

Official Response to British Londinium:
Though we have not had official diplomatic contact before now, we wish to state that the Londinium fleet would be welcome in Orzi waters as one of their destinations. It is our hope that this will bring in a new era of relations between our two nations, from which good things can entail.

Official Prestonian Communique
His Majesty King Steven I welcomes the Londinian Commonwealth back to the international arena. Much has happened in the time you have been in isolation. Prestonia has abandoned the Republic and restored the monarchy of old. The world has changed much in these years, but one thing remains the same: Prestonia will always be willing to persue relations with nations committed to peace and freedom.
However, this message comes with a warning as well. The atrocities committed in Cazelia and North Calaveras have not been forgotten by Prestonia, and we must warn you that any repeat of the previous Londinian warmongering will result in a swift and harsh response from Prestonia and the world.
While we wish to hold amicible relations, we cannot and will not stand for a new age of Londinian aggression internationally.
With Hope for the Future,
HM Steven I, King of Prestonia

Your fleet will be allowed to establish an embassy and diplomatic staff in Vantepolis. But know this, if the Londinians even think about launching an attack on any fair nation, the Vantanians will be there to stop them. Times have changed.
-P.S. This doesn't extend to Cazelia, Greal, Greston, or Calaveras. They deserve it. We suggest Cazelia, they recently gave the kitties (Kal'Har) a protectorate! The disgrace, they're begging to be killed.
-P.P.S. If you invade the aforementioned nations, we will not stop you, but we wouln't help you either. Maybe some tradegoods to help the wartime economy, but no soldiers.

We are pleased to hear that our allies in British Londinium have successfully recovered from the damages of the Vivicide and would be honored if the fleet stops in Vetalia City as part of their tour. This will prove to be beneficial for both sides.
