The planet of Londim was going about its daily business, ships left for other planets, others arrived. However deep within the Imperial Palace plans were underway for a new oribital defence system: Codename Watchdog. Watchdog would consist of Mark 3 Laser cannons that would orbit the planet. Between these cannons would be manned mini space stations. Watchdog had been in the planning stages for years and now it was time to launch the final stages.
Watchdog was there for defence purposes only. Watchdog would just act as another security post for trade ships entering Londim Space so these would need not fear. However should military vessels enter Londim Space they would be warned. If they failed to heed that warning then they would be fired upon. The Mark 3 Cannons would make sure these vessels did not survive.
Many had called these defences unneccessary, some even called them babaric as they may send the wrong message to other races. However the government called them necessary.
The space stations were near complete while these meetings were being held ready to go active as soon as the Emperor commanded it. Today miliary space stations around the planet were simultaenously going to launch the Mark 3 Cannons so Watchdog could become fully operational.
The Emperor had a video link set up to all the space stations and every tv set on the planet and started the official broadcast.
"Today, my fellow Londimians, we take the next step into the future. Our planet will momentarily be one of the best defended planets in the universe making all your lives a lot safer. I wil start the official countdown to launch the final stages.
10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1. Lift off."
At theses words the Cannons were launched into orbit. Soon after the lasers became operational.
"Ladies and Gentlemen. The Watchdog is awake."
OOC: Basically a thread where you give congratulations, object to the system or whatever. Lets see what happens.
