Thousands of Kal'Har had massed in the center of Palace Square, where they had begun their fight for independence. Almost all of them carried flags, banners or signs, and were roaring furiously, as well as chanting words from their language.

President Hogart watched from the top of the Yarkai Memorial Tower "What do those Kal'Har want now?" He exclaimed, throwing his hands up into the air "They want independence, and they want it now, Mr. President" Said one of his aids, as Hogart sat down on a small, wooden bench "Give them their independence, as well as Knightsville, and give them a division of IDMC Troops to aid them in building their settlements" He said, as the aide's jaw dropped "Are you serious about this sir? We'll be giving-" Hogart glared at his aid "Do you question my judgment, aid?" He said sternly. Within minutes, a Humvee drove up to the crowds "Attention Kal'Har! In the name of the Imperial Democracy, you are hereby granted independence, and have hereby been given the protectorate of Knightville!” Said the gunner, as the Kal’Har let out a cheer that could be heard for miles.

As per longtime national policy, the DIS does not recognise the Confederated Tribes of the Kal'Har to be an independent nation until such time as it has proven itself capable of responsible government and formed a self-sustaining internal economy and infrastructure. When that point is reached, Siev would of course be amicable to diplomatic relations and recognition.

Mikael was old. His grey lined hair rippled down his head, cropped past his aging forehead. Mikael ran his hands through this hair and over his eyes. Eyes that had seen too much death and violence. But he could not retire. His country needed him.

"Send a division to wait in the borderlands of this new state. Do not attack unless they make the first strike. Do not interfere with their lives. Do not make contact with them in any way."

"Sir."

The runner bowed and left the room, leaving Mikael with the weight on his shoulders at what he had done. War was not high on his list of to-dos.

They have been duly informed, and 1,000 have already expressed interest in attaining Kal'Har citizenship. an additional 3,000 have so far petitioned for dual citizenship. The rest, as of yet, have chosen to retain their citizenship in the Kiravian Sovereignty of Kal'Harica.
