Introduction

Welcome to the third German empire, set to stand for a thousand years!

Clearly enough, Tausendjahriges-Reich is an alternate history nation based upon the Third Reich, diverging as early as 1940 and eventually becoming an entirely different creature to the historical abomination.

Presently the nation is in mid 1944 and engaged in a single IC thread, which is largely a story. In 1945 or '46 I expect to open the nation, rid of the Nazis, to the world and invite interaction with entirely fictional NS countries. This thread will, as such, evolve considerably in coming days.

Border countries: France, Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Croatia, Slovakia, Russia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey

Natural resources: coal, lignite, natural gas, oil, iron ore, copper, silver, amber, nickel, zinc, antimony, chromite, cobalt, magnesium, manganese, magnesite, phosphorites, tungsten, titanium, graphite, uranium, kaolin, nickel, mercury, lead, pyrite, limestone, marble, granite, sulfur, potash, salt, construction materials, timber, peat, arable land, hydropower

Dependencies and Associations: The Reich is responsible for establishing favourable governments and governmental systems, each answerable in varying degrees to Berlin and/or to the Wehrmacht, in France, Italy, Slovakia, Norway, Croatia, Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Malta, Cyprus, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Kuwait, Yemen, the Trucial States, Bahrain, and Qatar.

France, under extended and modified Vichy control, maintains as colonies French West Africa, Morocco, Algeria, French Somaliland, Syria, Lebanon, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and Martinique. Free French forces maintain control in Madagascar (following a British invasion) Cameroon and French Equatorial Africa (Chad, Moyen-Congo, Oubangui-Chari, and Gabon) and represent a possible future target for the Reich and its allies.

Italy, under the new pro-Reich Republic, maintains as colonies Albania, Libya, Italian East Africa (Italian Somaliland (including former British Somaliland), Abyssinia, and Eritrea), the Dodecanese, and Montenegro.

Russia, under a German-sponsored White imperial government, maintains as territories Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.

Romania, Finland, and Spain represent the Reich's most notable fully independent allies, while a reticent Portugal remains a neutral nation strongly courted by German diplomats.

OOC: We don't care who they are or really what they stand for, as long as they can pay us in hard currency. Preferably our hard currency, but as long as it's valuable we can accept it.

OOC2: Your nation is very, very interesting. I look forward to interacting with your country as soon as it emerges for further diplomacy and trade. Of course, it may be interesting to see how they deal with a West African state comprised of primarily Russian nationals, but that's NS for you.

OOC: Well, understandably he's not keen to come forward and take credit while thousands of Germans maintain strong Nazi sympathies and consider his killer a traitor, but maybe someday he'll publish his memoirs and look for somewhere to go into hiding!

OOC: lol, I see, well he is always free to escape here ;)

OOC: Really just a bump. By way of an update, we've now passed the RL date of Germany's surrender, and the Allies are beaten in continental Europe. The Reich will begin relations with the Nationstates world in short order.

OOC: So, are you using Modern Tech of now, or of the 1940s?

OOC: 1940s, all be it alternate 1940s. Since Hitler caught an 8mm Mauser round with his teeth military technology at least has advanced as it may have without his constant and baffling encumberment. Compared to the rest of the world we're at least into the 1950s in most regards. Of course I would contend that in this history the rest of the world is even further behind, as neither the USSR nor the USA obtained German technology or scientists in the aftermath of the Reich's defeat.

As that is bound to be difficult to enforce in any way, I'm going to try to be fairly open about who I interact with. I will be glad to play with other nations set in the '40s, especially but not exclusively ones that take into account the German influence on technology and relative superiority in many areas. I will also try almost seperately to interact with more advanced nations.

It'll almost like being two nations in one. With other 1940s nations, we are technologically superior, with 2000s nations we are inferior.

Well, I'm going to see how that works, and whether it is interesting enough, anyway!
