The Grand World Order

GWO News Studio, Magna Polis -
The news station was sending a normal broadcast for a normal, rainy day in Magna Polis. So-and-so shot someone near the Spire, this celebrity is pregnant, some random nation was glassed, the usual. Then came the unusual "BREAKING NEWS" icon at the bottom of the screen. The news anchor, a man named Michael Jun, quickly spilled the news out for the nation to see.
"We have just recieved news of a swift turn in the current Democracy Experiment in the Neon Province in North America. The Experiment was set up by the Federal Government to show the difference between an average Grand Federal and one with Democratic Local and Provincial Governments. After an election for the Provincial Overseer of Neon resulted in a slight win for Richard Hiten, an infamous Neo-Nazi politician, nearly 920,000 citizens revolted against the government, claiming that the Government had rigged the election. Each city within the Neon Province has been locked down, and Federal Military Units have been deployed to help regional authorities end the revolt. The Grand Commander, who ordered this experiment, made the following statement."
The screen switches to video footage of GRIFFITH-II standing at a podium in front of the Spire.
"This is EXACTLY what we knew would happen. This is exactly why Democracy is a failure. Democracy leads to known difference between one another. This in turn leads to Division, which ultimately leads to Civil War. Democracy follows the idea that the government's job is to be of service to the people, to cater to them. The government's true job is to protect them from themselves and foreign threats, and to enforce the law of the land. The government is there to keep things running smoothly. Democracy allows the people to control the government, something they know nothing about."
After the clip, the story switches from the political status of the region to the battles. Footage of Federation troops, both Federal and Provincial/Local, fighting the rebels. It shows several rebels being mowed down, some unarmed. Speakers are shouting, "You are disturbing the regional Order! Disperse at once and throw down your weapons or you WILL be fired upon! All civilians, report back to your homes or risk facing the consequences!" while muzzle flashes dot the screen, civilians running from gunbattles between the two forces, explosions hitting buildings, and tanks rolling down the streets.
"The situation is only getting worse in Neon, with thousands dead and casualties mounting on both sides. However, many believe that the international community will get involved."
((OOC: I don't want this thread to turn into a brawl between myself, allies, and several other nations, or into a plate glass manufacturing thread. I want activity to be LIMITED, so no glassing or massive invasions. Basically, you can send troops to the Neon Province, which contains a total of 19 cities. No nukes, EMPs, or massive amounts of other WMDs. Anything that can destroy more than 15% of a city's population in one go is not allowed. And the province has no ports. It does, however, have navigable rivers.
And for those wondering, yes, the government DID rig the elections.))
