Errikland Annexes Nova Norway

With the recent events in Nova Europa, the Empire saw clearly the shifting nature of things in the region; the recent destructive war over Nova Brittania had seen not only large scale destruction and the near destruction of the Nova Europa Alliance, but also the occupation of most of the remaining Nova Europan territory. The area of the original dispute turned out to be originally legally Auman’s, though The PeoplesFreedom’s active allies did not recognize this, and Automagfreek seized Nova Iceland while the others licked their chops while moving on Nova Ireland. The long held Errikan interest in Nova Norway, an interest held particularly strongly by Errikan Nordenlanders, seemed threatened. The resource rich area, bounded by the Nova North Sea, seemed to be next in their path. The Empire saw its long flirted with interest threatened by the both the advancing powers and the defensive NEA, and knew that decisive action was required.

From: The Errikan Empire

Greetings, allies, friends, and all you other people!

The Errikan Empire hereby officially annexes the land of Nova Norway, to the north of our current colonial territory in Nova Europa, in its entirety, creating a greater Errikan Nordenland and enfolding this great land into the fold of Errikan civilization. Our military forces are already securing the territory, which shall quickly be integrated. The local peoples who so wish it shall be given full rights within the Empire, so their rights need not be a concern to our concerned internationalists.

We thank our allies and friends for their support, and everyone else for their staying out of it.

“Ah, brisk.”

“Brisk, right.” Colonel George Bauer’s response was as chilly as the wind that blew against them as they stood on the Errikan ship entering the Arctic circle. Commander Alexander Carlson chuckled him off; an Errikan Nordenland native, Carlson felt invigorated by this cold, but his colleague had been born in southern Errikland, lived in Errikan Arterus and was most recently deployed to Errikan Cripistan, none of them known for their snow.

“Doesn’t it feel good to be pushing the frontier? To be driving the edges of the Empire farther than they have gone before?”

“Yes,” Bauer smiled, bundled up with his arms crossed tight to his chest, turning to Carlson, “But to be honest I much preferred it in the desert.”

Brief summary of progress, excerpt from a report to the press:
“Errikan forces, under the command of Thomas Jones, have effectively occupied the whole of Norway, with the exception of the northernmost portion, where weather conditions and less than cooperative Sami peoples have slowed the advance. There has been no notable resistance south of the Namsen River, an area containing the vast majority of the population . . .”
